I went to Georgia’s talk in Snohomish. I left at 1:15 PM fearing I would get lost, which I did, but managed to find my way to the library. The first thing I did was ask the reference librarian to print out a return route for me, as I feared finding my way to I-5 N after dark might be a problem. The directions were excellent, and going home was fine except for the nerve-wracking drive in the dark. It rained on the drive down and even more so on the drive home. The talk was not taped, sadly, and I was so busy listening that some things I wanted to remember to share here got lost in my brain somewhere. In particular, the heart Georgia sometimes puts next to her name has meaning. I think it was for the holiday arcs. Also, she is still surprised that no one caught the easter egg of the lantern until she mentioned it. The two slides she showed were Iggy and OZ being led to the BPH by Angus’ lantern and Tillie showing up with the lantern when Puck was trapped in the attic.

My cat would only leave the wood burning stove in the fireplace to tell me that it needed more wood. She had thermostatically active ears and toe beans.
I know what tune Puck and OZ are parodying in the last panel (I heard entirely too often when I worked at KMart :P), but what tune is the woman belting out to?
Ha! I get the same expression from my cat, Cassidy, that Elvis is giving the Woman in panel 5! That tells me all I need to know, about my singing abilities!
I am going to make a no bake gluten free chocolate cheesecake today. :) Never done it before. As for my cat, she loves fluffy plush bedding and warm humans. :)
Thomios: Your Majesty and fellow courtiers! It gives me great pleasure to present a new peas and pasta dish, with peas from Where We Know Not.

Maat-Tilda: Your Majesty and Friends, my fellow artisans and I are working on a special project. Each of us have incorporated peas in our specialty arts. Tonight we would like to present a sampling of our projects. First up is Sophititi. Soph?
Soph: Peas are a staple in many cuisines. I have created a found object map of the known world enhanced with peas indicating key spots. And now Adobe Style and Arachna Webspinner will display their fabric art creations.
Adobe Style: My tapestry is a combination of peas, beans, and jewels to catch the beauty of the day. Arachna’s webs have a take on the reflective powers of webs. Ari?
Ari: Here are my intricate webs, decorated with jewels and peas. They are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also provide a living space for spiders like me. And to round out our show, here is Maat-Tilda. Tillie?
Tillie: With the help of the construction team of Iggy Shipwright and Awhile-Fixit the Seventh, our own Wally, I have created a whirligig with peas. This is the beginning of our endeavor to achieve whorld peas!

WOW!!! Thank you for traveling to attend one of my talks, and thank you to local folks who came out as well! It was such a good afternoon with friendly folks! I hope you enjoyed hearing about what makes a good ghost story and sharing some ghost stories of your own. It was so nice to meet folks and talk about the comic!”
Ryan: Hello, we’ll return you to your movie, “The Man Who Would Be Queen”, in just one moment. But first, have we got an offer for you!
Colin: As long as there’s been bathrooms, there’s been music about showers. And if that isn’t the truth, it would be a lie. We have compiled an incredible collection of 70’s shower-related songs.
Ryan: Over fifty songs on forty-nine CDs. You know, many songs are on this. One of my favourites, of course, is the 70’s French Cancan number, “Hey Look…my shower has no door”
Took a second: “Hot Blooded” by Foreigner, I don’t want to think of Georgia as being that old! (her art and humor makes clear that inside she is eternally youthful)

Foreigner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October. Consequently they’ve been on popular rock radio a lot lately, so that would explain why The Woman has Foreigner songs on (or in) her mind :-)

Olivia Newton-John: Sam
I hear you’re feeling cold now
So am I
I need a vent
So do you
What will we do?
Is there a vent that is free?
Are you feeling chilled just like me?
Longing for warmth to be?
…….
Oh, friend, friend
We’ll find a nice vent
Let’s curl up by the heat
We don’t need cold feet
Oh, friend, friend
We’ll find a nice vent
And curl up for a nap
And maybe a lap
Longing to warm up
Oh friend, friend,
We’ll find a nice vent!
We miss you, Olivia
