Might as well invite Mini Elvis – he was almost Luann’s husband at one time. Greg even portrayed him as a possibility of being in her life as a husband at 40 with two nerdy kids and living in a motor home…

Not sure I’m as enthusiastic about the dress as Luann, but it’s nice she compliments Gunther for turning the project around so quickly.

Is she giving a ‘call out’ to one of our posters, Mordock/Moose?

Tiffany and Gunther know Brad as an acquaintance, not as a friend. (Likely they haven’t even seen him since he moved out of the DeGroots’ house.) They’ve met Toni maybe twice in their lives. There is absolutely no reason for them to be at the wedding. Making the gown for the Maid of Honor doesn’t put you on the guest list, G-man.

That dress looks great! He is a real genius. On the iinvitation issue that comes up all the time. Luann needs to talk to Toni and/or Brad over who will be invited. Remember we have not seen any of Toni’s friends or relatives, and the only friend Brad has been shown with is TJ. I knew this was going to be an issue, as it always is with weddings, but I am sure it will work out.

The wedding invitations I have received generally include a separate invitation to the (expensive) reception—assuming that is at a different venue from the ceremony—depending on what kind of ceremony it is.

So, what grade would you give Luann for the dress design, purely as an art assignment? Prof. Zebo will give it an “A”, after he pours water on it and feeds it into a shredder.

2Two foci that I see here today:1. Invitations…. as it is not up to Luann to invite or not invite folks…. what she should obviously do is simply relay the information to Brad and Toni that Gunther (and Bernice?) would like to attend…. if Brad and Toni want to include them on the invitations list.2. As far as the dress…. I am very concerned that the “wearable art” assignment will end earning Luann an “F” grade, not because the “artistic merit”…. but because all it appears Luann has done is make a drawing of the dress and then gave it to another person (Gunther) to make. For me as an educator, this does not seem like a normal way for such an assignment to be conducted. Luann would, IMO, need to be wholly or at least mostly responsible for the actual construction of the art piece (the dress) in order to earn credit for the assignment. I do not want Luann to receive an “F”, but honestly, I am thinking it is probably warrented in terms of her actual hands-on aspects in the “wearable art” assignment being VERY, VERY small.3. In terms of the artistic merit of the dress itself…. well, it is a matter of perspective. To me, it has as definite “late-80s / early-90s” sort of “vibe”. If Luann was aiming for a retro look for herself at the wedding, then I think it is a very good fit. In either case, as long as she runs it by Toni and she approves, then it will be a success as far as the wedding goes. I am not sure how Professor Zebo will view the style of the dress. It depends on how Luann packages it for the assignment. She could have a backstory that makes it work (as Tim Gunn may say) or not. But, in the end, even with a good backstory, I still suspect that Luann’s lack of actual hands-on participation could very well earn her a horrible grade.

How is that dress ever going to pass as an engineering project? It’s a dress. Don’t get me wrong, fashion design and garment construction require as much talent and skill as anything else, but is it really engineering?

Which raises a logical question: is Gunther in the wrong major? I mean, yeah, he’s always been a bit of a math and science boffin, but is that where his real talents and passions lie? Methinks he would be happier, more fulfilled, if he were to go into fashion design or costume construction or even tailoring.

Life is too short to waste it in a safe job you don’t love.

You’re all very naive or inexperienced if you think only the bride and groom have a say in the invitations. Parents, siblings, friends, and in-laws nearly always put in their two cents. “You have to invite your great-uncle Harry. Never mind you haven’t seen him in 20 years. He promised to put me in his will.” It happens all the time. Certainly Brad and Toni (and no doubt TJ) will have the final say. However, the sister of the groom who is friendly with the bride would not be out of bounds in asking them to invite her two closest friends, especially if Gunther agrees to be Luann’s date. It won’t mean they’re obligated to be a couple. I just hope Quill doesn’t enter the picture.

Just checking in and asking other people who also would use the Hoboken Station to check in here so folks know who is fine. Hopefully all. Luckily, the accident was not as bad as it could have been.Sadly, the delayed installation happened for Positive Train Speed Control (PTC) so that did not exist though it could have prevented this major accident. As a result, NJT and the Governor’s Office (Chris Christie) under whose administrative control umbrella the NJT operates will have many questions to answer. There will also be checking into a similarity to a 2011 accident, and a report that the engineer was seen slumped over before the accident which might indicate a medical emergency. It is sad that installation of PTC was so delayed. The accident is much more costly – in so many ways – than that installation would have been.

Kind of amazing that everything always falls into Luann’s lap. Despite her wanting to do education, she only seems to take art classes and when the wedding is coming up just so happens to get an assignment like this… which just so happens to coincide (somehow) with Gunther’s project.

Plus, really and truly Brad and Toni have absolutely no obligation to invite Gunther to the wedding. Even if he did the dress.

I just thought as my second original comment that I would comment on Bernice and Gunther being Luann’s best friends. I don’t think there will be any problem with them getting invited to the wedding, and I think that Luann will be allowed to invite all the main characters in some way. Someone mentioned firefighters, which is another group, then the other recurring Luann characters, from Delta (one sure hopes) to Rosa (please) but on that last person, I wonder if a new developing arc might be Gunther and Bernice as a serious item, and if so Rosa comes back (sorry my fetish) and/or the affect on Tiffany, if any. And I still think that dress is sharp.

If Greg wants to portray Gunther as a worthy love interest for Luann, then he ought to portray him as a bit more mature. For example, he should have realized that Luann was joking when she said he should wear the bridesmaid dress to engineering class:And I don’t remember him ever accepting the idea of his mom dating Mr. Gray:
