Better regulations and yes, restrictions to access, do not mean totall banning of the rifles. But banning large magazines, and better background checks, and the government being allowed, like the NRA and gun manufacturers, to maintain sales records longer than five days, would help tracking and reduce illegal sales.

Nooooooo! Limiting access to weapons used in mass shootings is exactly the same as banning all guns and abolishing the second amendment.

As is limiting access to high capacity magazines and cop-killer ammunition.

    Research about gun violence, too.

All of it the same as total banning of all guns. No difference at all.

Don’t believe me? Ask the NRA or any Trump Disciple.

I am most concerned that, in a country that prides itself on its democracy and concomitant government, people should feel that they must retain firearms to arm themselves against said government. What in God’s name has gone wrong?

OK, wanna ban the weapons used in MOST mass shootings? Fine. Ban handguns. That’s right, ban handguns. There have been about 1,600 mass shootings since Sandy Hook. 98% of them committed by someone with a HANDGUN. Less than 250 people have died from mass shootings in that period committed with an “assault weapon”. More than 5,400 have died in mass shootings committed with a HANDGUN. In 2016, 11,004 people died from GSW (GunShot Wound). Of that, 7,105 from handguns; 3,077 from “unknown type”; and 374 from rifles (all types, incl. San Bernardino & Orlando). It is an established fact that 99.99% of firearm suicides involve a handgun. See how STUPID you sound while yammering about “assault weapons”?

The real reason that boys commit mass shootings is because girls find it SEXY!

“Mass murderer Nikolas Cruz is getting stacks of fan mail and love letters sent to the Broward County jail, along with hundreds of dollars in contributions to his commissary account.”

    http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/broward/parkland/florida-school-shooting/fl-reg-nikolas-cruz-prison-love-letters-20180327-story.html

“The attraction of women to prison bad boys echoes the fascination with killers like notorious cult leader Charles Manson. Lyle and Erik Menendez, the Beverly Hills brothers convicted in 1994 of murdering their parents, attracted a pair of brides while spending life in prison. So-called “Bundyphiles” sent bags of mail to Ted Bundy, the serial rapist-murderer who was electrocuted on Florida’s Death Row in 1989.”

    Women love the bad boys.

Punish all for the actions of one, that always works. No discussion on the core cause, people violence. Failure of the government to keep their records up to date, failing to take actions on reported information. We have had great success keeping illegal drugs out of the country, I’m sure the same success would be had with illegal guns. Criminals will not follow the gun laws and you want to take guns from the people who do follow the law. Alcohol probation worked…..not.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away……..

Guns are much more heavily regulated than they ever have been; it doesn’t seem to be working.

When I was in high school, the parking was about 75% pickup trucks. About 90% of those had gun racks, and most a rifle & a shotgun in them; many had a bow or gunbelt with a handgun on the 3rd row. All, were loaded, nothing was locked. This was the case at all area schools.

We did not have mass shooting – or any shootings, for that matter.

Less guns = more shootings; why?

We didn’t have first person shooter video games, for one thing.

I will freely admit that I don’t know what the solution is….But I do know what the solution is not… It is not We The People attacking each other over differences of opinion. It is ok for us to view things differently, and yes, even to argue over those differences. But what we have lost as a country, is the solidarity of “even if I disagree with you, I will gladly stand beside you against any interloper from outside who tries to come against us”. People, if we don’t get that back we are lost and the Russians or the Chinese or the Martians or whomever, will pluck us off the vine like a rotten grape. It is not the Senate or the President(whichever party is in control), that sets the tone for this country, it is We The People. And We The People need to get our collective heads out of our collective butts before it is too late.(steps off of soapbox)

I would like to ban assault rifles. Not all guns just assault rifles. When the constitution was written I bet they never even imagined guns like assault rifles. Assault rifles are not even guns they are weapons of war. I read an article stating that Dr’s who treated victims of assault rifles when they looked inside a person to treat them there was nothing left of their organs. The bullets from assault rifles shred up everything. Regular guns and bullets Dr’s can piece back together the organs.

Two items here that bear noting. First, women produce testosterone too, just in smaller quantities than men (hopefully someone else has mentioned this fact). So Dani wants to ban herself too. Second, in my opinion the problem isn’t really too many weapons, it is the fact that too many people have no respect for anyone other than themselves and use weapons to try and enforce their views on others.

Where we respect each other, even if we disagree, we can work together to attempt to find a solution to a problem that may not be exactly what either want, but works best for the overall condition. We need people like Representatives O’neil and Wright back in government as they would work together for the good of the country back in the day. The bunch we have now won’t work together to better the country, just their agenda. In my opinion this applies equally to both major parties.

Its not all that complicated. The country is divided. The Left believes through its manipulation of immigration and its control of the deep state, education, and MSM it will eventually gain perpetual control of the military and police forces. The Right understands this and isn’t interested in being lined up against the wall.

Switzerland has the right idea. There is a reason they were able to stay neutral during WWI and WWII. Hitler’s disarmed the citizens of Germany and indoctrinated school children, children who would later turn in their own parents and siblings. I don’t own a gun, although I am now considering purchasing one because our laws let the criminal element go unchecked. I fully support any law-abiding CITIZEN to own a firearm. I fully support background checks for firearm ownership. I believe juvenile records should not be sealed and should be used for background checks. I think we need to review our mental health policies. The ACLU practically closed down mental health institutions in the 60s and 70s arguing the mentally ill should be in charge of their own destiny. Homelessness and crime have skyrocketed since then. Is there a correlation? I don’t know, I don’t have enough of the facts, but I do know from experience with family members that institutionalization is nearly impossible, the legal system seems to prefer our mentally ill drink/drug themselves to an early grave on the streets.

We have two historical allies which are a lot like us: majority northern European ancestry, still significant indigenous minority increasingly vocal, increasing immigration from Asia, frontier culture including guns a significant part of the folkloric tradition, legal structure derived from English Common Law, etc. Yet they have a higher standard of living, greater longevity, less poverty, than we do. Why don’t we avail ourselves of their successful experiments and simply adopt wholesale the Canadian health system and Australian gun regulations?

Guns for home defense really are needed and really do work!!!!!

Some will ignore the truth becasue of the media outlet. (I don’t truat any of them). But .An attempted robbery of a Tennessee home Wednesday night turned deadly when the homeowner fatally shot one of the alleged robbers, who was a convicted felon.//Police said that Bishop fired shots at the two, “fatally wounding Adams.” The second robber “dropped the long guns and the pistol that had been taken from the safe and ran away.”

The now-deceased robber had been arrested in July 2017 for felony meth possession for resale and unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon and was being sought by authorities for two probation violation warrants.

It could be, perhaps, that their shoes are too tight. But I think that the most likely reason of all May be that their xxxxxes are two sizes too small.

Guns in the home are rarely used for self defense. Guns are used for suicide and shooting other people that live in the home or visit the home. There are literally hundreds of shootings and suicides, for every couple of prevented crimes. Even then, the people that shoot the odd intruder are traumatized for life and often suffer from PTSD.

Guns (and any weapon of self defense in general) cannot be found “guilty” in a court of law. Only people can be found guilty. It’s TIME for liberals to STOP blaming inanimate objects and START taking personal responsibility for their OWN actions!!
