Hard to read this arc. It seems so pointless. Hope I’m wrong.

Les you dufus, totally outsmarted by a pretty face, and Gunther is a “smart” observer. Such bachelors these two. Two questions: she related to Tara, and will we see her again? and two, where does Les have money to buy 4 of anything that is discounted from $200 “in value” for one? I assume she is selling for a high school fundraiser?

So this young lady studied with the master Ann Eiffel. Les doesn’t even want to know what the coupons are good for. (1) A free popcorn with purchase of an $18 movie ticket, etc. etc.

They could probably get a lot more for the couch if they pointed out that it was the same one Rose was laying on when Jack drew her like one of his French girls in Titanic.

Leslie should study economics. It is obvious he can learn much.

Notice Gunther realizes Leslie is making a poor economic decision. Perhaps he can mentor poor Leslie.

The clash of the titans!

Les SHOULD have spotted a CON!!! Him, coming from a con family! This girl could be Ann’s apprentice, to quote the Emperor in Star Wars. Les failed to spot his mother’s con and type. Gunther, being no dummy, however, did spot the con. Now I am not remembering that he ever met Ann? Does he know Les is the son of the dreaded Ann? Surely Luann or Bernice talked about her at WW.

Wow Gunther’s got a great deadpan there! HHmmm… My prediction is that coupon lady is really Dirks wife, Grace. She got tired of teaching meditation to ex cons and figured life on the streets would be more fulfilling, especially as a coupon lady. But who knows?? Coupon Lady has a lot of potential… Oh, and I like Les’ boots.

To those who don’t like this arc……don’t read it. Problem solved. Don’t put so much seriousness into this, it’s just a COMIC for Ghu’s sake! Chill.

This never would have happened if they’d brought in TJ.

Let’s hope this is a new character, she’s pretty and smart. She probably attended Pitts High (I don’t recall her from any of the crowd scenes there) and she chooses to wear the top as a fashion accessory. I’d put her at about 19 or 20, possibly older.

Saying it again … Leslie will be ripped off.

I somehow thought Les would be smarter than this, but it appears (like many men), much of his thinking ability originates from below the waistline… sucker! :)

doesn’t seem to be much Luann anymore, she pops in for a day or two then we’re off on all the weird character that don’t interact with Luann – Please – Les and Gunther go away for a while – especially Les!!

So Gunther is going to overprice all the stuff due to his sentimental value of it all and now Les is going to give it all away if the prospective buyer turns out to be cute? Oy.

It could be the PITTS School of Art, or the PITTS School of Modern Design, or whatever.

Con-er. Meet Con-ette. She’s “working her way through school” and if she can just sell four more today she will win her choice of a cell phone or a laptop computer. “Which do you think I would choose?” (said with a beguiling smile)

Uh-oh. Looks like all those valuable Victorian antiques are about to fade away, like Irma’s Vegas wedding and Gunthie’s sewing room. (And Quill’s stuff.) But that’s OK. It’s all just a plot device.

Perhaps We shouldn’t get our “Hopes” up here, Gentle Readers.

As I and several others have said, this young woman might just be a “One Trick Pony.” A “Punch-Line,” for today. Introduced merely to Vex Les, just for one appearance. Greg has done that before:

In fact, the rest of the week and perhaps beyond, may just a series of “folks” who step up to the lads and promptly take advantage of them. Tomorrow may be Gunther’s turn to get “hosed” by some con, selling Pest Control, or Lawn Care or Band Candy or something.

On the other hand this young woman had actual LINES today. And in one fell swoop, PROVED that she can handle Les. Also dare I say it, She’s kinda cute. I do seem to remember a certain person around here requesting a “red-head.” ;)

There’s a LOT of potential here with this lady. Let’s hope she’s allowed to stick around. I guess We’ll SEE tomorrow….,

This young lady and her con game might lure Les away from the household (Les not knowing that his mother is the ringleader). I would rather Gunther gets lured away from the household – but it won’t be by this salesperson.

Interesting new character.

1) Her shirt says “Pitts School”. I suspect the most logical conclusion is Pitts High School. Yet, even so, that does not necessarily mean she is currently a high school student. She could be, but she could also be older and just wearing one of her old shirts.

2) I like how this new character is drawn. I would be very much in favor of her continuing as a character in Luann.

3) Les is clearly “interested” in this new character, and is even willing to buy her coupon book(s) to continue to interact with her.

* * * *As of the moment, nothing concrete to conclude. But, potential paths I find interesting include:

1) (for Mordy ) Perhaps this girl will become a long-term character and become someone Les begins to date? If so, this will potentially take Tiffany and free her character to become more involved with Gunther.

2) Maybe this girl will become some part of the rummage sale process and help Gunther and Les to get better prices for their “fru-fru” furniture?

In today’s installment of “Starve Wars” , Cheat-Creep-ee-oh and Are-Tu Deetayled encounter the awesome winsomeness (and get taken aback, and afforth, even) of one Yolanda Card-Twist-ian….who sometimes goes by the name of ‘Slydah Handel’.

New character. Shysty like Les. A lady after his own heart. Hmm… doesn’t bode well for Tiffany. Unless this becomes some sort of cross pollination thing where relationships go against type. Like Les gets serious with Tiffany and Gunther gets serious with our newest addition…. Naaah prolly not.

Still hoping for an abrupt change to this arc, like this: as Les continues to drool over Coupon Lady, and Gunther watches the show, all three of them notice a sudden change in the air. Could it be smoke? Yeah, an approaching wildfire is attacking the neighborhood. Brad’s squad is called in to assist by protecting structures, and he and his buddies direct Gunther, Les and Couponer to clear the area. But Gunther suddenly remembers how much he loves his furniture, and refuses to leave without his (fill in the blank), as angry flames begin to consume all in its path, including the guest house…film at 11?

This reminds me (a bit) of the time when Tiffany was trying to teach Gunther how to put the moves on someone. She had spotted Piro in the hall; she had on black lace hose and a skirt practically up to her crotch. and she said “watch how I do it..” Of course, Piro was Piro, unmoved by any of Tiffany’s moves.

Les, who would want to buy just Half a Lamp?

I think Les is the pro here – he’ll throw in some coupons for an inflated price on the furniture

OK. Even Evans is so bored now with his own work he’s sunk to drawing anime-influenced characters.

Just a thought – will she be recruited to sting Ann?

Fashion wise both those guys could improve, but at least Gunther looks more or less like a normal male, but Les looks, well, just weird and unsavory.

Wow. Leslie got taken down so easily! Maybe he has a weakness for redheads….

Will she stick around the strip for a while, and will we learn her name? Leeloo?

This young lady may have potential here. I hope Greg does not make her a one – day apparition.
