What a waste of a strip today. Nothing was said or happened. The Saturday strip better be more productive.

So Tiff isn’t totally oblivious to what’s going on.

Les reads between the lines, but fails to comprehend the words ON the line.

If Les came on that quick to Bets, the waiter probably didn’t have time to pour the water.

And as expected, Tiffany’s definition of “business” and “positions” is 180-degrees removed from Les’ definitions.

One thing about Les has never changed … he still thinks he is God’s gift to women.

What we have here is a failure to communicate!

Anything? Major felony?

Les Knox. As expected, he goes full sleaze on Tiff. The Poor Sap. He has absolutely NO idea that almost exactly a year ago, he came within three and half inches of getting exactly what he wanted from a ready, willing, and able, Tiffany when he visited her in her dorm room.

It is interesting to note however, that when he tried to court Pru, he was almost a gentleman. No off color remarks. No sleaze. No drooling. He just tried to buy his way into her heart, with expensive trinkets. One wonders what he found so special about Pru that he respected her, but treats every other young female he meets, INCLUDING Tiffany, as something to be conquered.

Tiffany might as well make it official and tell everyone that Les is her boyfriend, whether that’s her plan or not. Because I suspect Les is going to tell everybody Tiffany is now his girlfriend, whether SHE likes it or not.

And the first person Les is gonna Tell is Gunther…….,

les, get your mind out of the gutter and in the game. She’s not interested in you romantically. If anything gunther will wind up in bed with her before you will.

Is that “Les”, or “Letch”?

Most are thinking a train wreck, but to me, the trains are on two different tracks. This conversation is more two ships passing in the night.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Gunther is opening the door to his room and telling Bets that the coast is clear, and also how good she looks in his Capt. Picard pajamas.

Les really has a color coordinated kerchief in his pocket? He must have been watching old “Rat Pack” vids.

This strip reminds me of the infamous scene in Meet Joe Black: the lead-in to Brad Pitt’s character being hit by the car. In the scene, him and the female character walk away from each other and take turns looking back at the other. It goes on for freakin’ EVER and the two never manage to look in each other’s direction at the same time.

Anyway, in this strip it’s the same thing but with romantic/sexual interest. Tiffany comes on to Les but he’s oblivious to it. Then later, he comes on to her but she’s thinking about something else. Then eventually she’ll be interested in him again while he’s thinking of something else once more. Back and forth it goes, and no characters ever get together because no two people are ever interested in each other simultaneously. It’s just back and forth and back and forth.

Once you notice the pattern you can’t unsee it.

He’s looking to score, Beavis and Butthead style. Tiff is not having any of that.

I don’t see what is wrong with Axe used sparingly. HmmP!! On the arc I think it summarized is that the Souffle fraud caper gives Tiffany a way to use it to blackmail (no other word fits) Ann into convincing Tom Ferrell to lift his financial lock on her; my problem though is what does Les get out of it, even though Tiffany believes they both have shared “positions”, his mom being the center. I don’t see what Les gets from it though, he is already estranged from his mom, and there is no way that Tiffany is going to give him any sexual favor. In spite of what some seem to project, she is not promiscuous, and she is not romantically interested in Les either. Her seeming “coming on” to him is not that at all, it is really just a sharing of the attractiveness of the plan she has for him. So what does he get out of it? Revenge for Ann being a horrible mom?

His mind is in the gutters.

We already know that Tiffany is clueless, so I guess we can add hopeless as well.

When Tiff says it involves their positions, she probably means they need to switch chairs.

Four frames, and there’s a double entendre in every one of them! Surely this is some sort of record for the Evanses?

Oh look, it’s another attempt to get even with Ann.

Doesn’t matter what Tiff says, all Les hears is “giggity giggity giggity”.

I’m hoping (against hope), that at some point in this arc, Tiff will deliver a swift kick in Les’ crotch and high-tail it out of there!

Why in the world would Tiffany turn to Les for financial support and advice. He’s a sleazeball hustler whose only experience with money is watching his grifter mother fleece unsuspecting marks.

Yep, looks like all that effort to look like a CEO is going to pay off for Tiffany. Is this what you call barking up the wrong tree?

Is ‘dork’ too strong a word to describe Les? Probably not, but I’m trying to keep it clean.

Clearly, they’re not on the same page.

That didn’t end well in the movie, either!

One thing that has always bothered me, why are Tiffany’s eyebrows drawn on her bangs?

Thus begins Tiffany’s ’that’s what she said’ business meeting.

They may not come to complete agreement regarding their positions.

Time for Les to wake up, this is a serious meeting! Maybe Tiffany already see him just like a brother and his flirtation make her confuse.

He is Slime

I think Les may have misunderstood the word “business”.

Greg has no long range plan. His characters break up before they hook up, so you might as well let your imagination fill in the blanks. Rosa and Gunther “did it” frequently in the mountains of Peru. Tiffany and Gunther had sex one time in her suite when she came out of the shower. And, Gunther took off more than those Vulcan ears when he and Bets finally found some privacy. Mr. Gray was and is a “fixer” for the Mob, and Frank secretly wants Nancy to have another baby.

Their not on the same page.

I don’t know what Greg is playing at here. Obviously Tiffany in supposed to believe Les can assist her with her immediate problem from this week’s episode. Namely repaying her credit card debt and starting her business. We’re being lead to believe that her “leverage” is the promise or actuality of some sort of “relationship” with Les. (I don’t know why it was necessary to introduce Gunther into yesterday’s strip unless it was to remind us of the “sexual competitiveness” between the him and Les.) And, if not financial aid, what does Tiff want from Les “network-wise?”

Today, Tiff is all clueless and Les looks like the cat about to swallow the bird. So is this going to be 1) a Loony Tunes, Sylvester and Tweety episode (millennials, google it) with Tiff conning Les into something, 2) a Tiff capitulation episode with a date with Les in the offing, or 3) something different.

Les is a predator

FINANCIAL positions, folks! Les is about to learn what a “sugar daddy” does. Not to worry, Tiff won’t go off the deep end.

So, it looks like Tiffany’s hair has its own set of eyebrows…

I really, REALLY hate Tiffany’s suit. She looks like a doorman or an undertaker. Yuck.

I want to say she needs to use better words, but this is Leslie Knox she’s talking to…

Unbelievable… Tiffany has finally found someone who is more of an idiot than she is…

Her choice of phrases isn’t helping her case much.

Tiff, order a big icy drink to dump down the front of his pants to cool him off. That trick worked on the movie ‘Silver Streak’.

Is Tiffany really that stupid? How old is she supposed to be? Come on!

I’m going to predict that Tiff wants Al Gray to invest in her business. Les has severed himself from Ann so I can’t imagine she would be part of anything.

Tiffany’s dialogue comes across as terribly naive-sounding, but in fact she is just very focussed on her Business Proposal, while Leering Les is focussed elsewhere….
