Off topic: Update on Midnite. The pathology report came back: Malignant, but not an aggressive cancer. Clean margins, but a little too narrow for comfort. So it’s wait and see over time. Hopefully it won’t recur. On another front, she is tolerating the cut down cone and next Monday it can come off when they take stitches out. Boops and hugs to you all!! Thanks for caring.
Elvis is speechless! What an image! I need that as an emoji, or a paste-in image for comments and texts. (Actually, if BCN emojis existed, I’d use a lot more of them. Not sure if that would be a good thing.) I’ve been waiting for this sequence and am delighted to find that it’s just as good as I remember.
Boys! Emergency defense stations – Now! The three of you combined might be able to contain the outraged Tabitha and save Beatrix! You’ll probably pay a heavy price, but she’s worth it! Now, move!
There are certain images that Georgia has drawn though out BCN that are benchmarks for me. Panels that incite wonderful emotion; be it joy, laughter or sadness.
Elvis in the cold saying the food bowl in his tummy is empty…
Elvis in his robe and glasses, sitting up with a sick kitten….
Pucky looking up at Man and saying “Who?”, when asked where his friends are…
Pucky hugging his reporter notebook and reading a message from Tilly…
Lupin grabbing his fedora before the laundry shoot closes…And many, many more.
The image of Elvis, in utter shock and dismay in panel 3, is probably my favorite Elvis expression to date. When I found BCN and started looking at various strips, it was this image of Elvis that got me hooked. I had to know more.
It is a testament to the Artist, Georgia, that her work can convey such feelings in her readers. Going forward, I look to add more “Favorites”. But right now, I just want to savor Elvis’s expression and wonder what is going to happen next…
Attention All Paws: Alpha female cat battle has ensued. Cat your stations and remain calm. Be on the lookout for polydactyl attack and excessive cuteness!

The courageous kitten has landed the first blow, but has she bitten off more than she can chew?

Will Tillie have to step in again and help the world of the living?

Speaking of which … After eight years of (relatively) peaceful coexistence, one of my guys has turned suddenly, inexplicably aggressive toward the other. Even the animal behaviorist was noticeably shaken when he attacked again, without warning, while she was performing an in-home assessment last week.
There’s no overt physical cause for the change, but both had their annual wellness exams today and the vet said the results of the blood analysis should be ready by Friday, but I don’t expect she’ll discover anything abnormal, or certainly nothing that’s unequivocal and treatable.
I fear I may have no choice but to find my beloved family member a new home.
Oh yeah, I’ve been wondering: what exactly does the “Orb” and “Mega Orb” stuff mean? I think I have an idea, but I’d still appreciate if someone would clarify. =)
Hi there, I am SKYKEY’s sister in law, Sandy. I think everyone knows of SKYKEY’s passing in December from my sister’s post (which was delayed but eventually sent – it’s posted on 12/28/18 if you want to see it). Anyway, logging in for the first time this past weekend and reading all your wonderful posts, I wanted to let you know that Mrs. SKYKEY, my sister Jeanne, has now joined her husband in eternity. They were together since she was 17 and these last few years, he was taking care of her with her various medical conditions. He died suddenly and it stunned and saddened everyone. Jeanne told me these last few weeks that she missed him so much, she was dying of a broken heart. As much as I tried to persuade her to continue to live and cherish her life, her struggles were too much and she and joined Gil on March 30th, less than 4 months later.
They never had kids, but Tre C, Megan and various neighborhood feral cats they have helped over the years had been there babies. Tre C and Megan now reside and are loved by my other sister (Sue) and her Calico, (Cofefe). I am trying to gather the stories that SKYKEY was posting since July by cutting and pasting them. I believe one of you has done this work already to send to your daughter. If so, would you mind emailing a copy of that to me (sandys2k@hotmail.com). I have never been part of an on-line community, but I am so impressed with the kind words, encouragement, and camaraderie that is evident throughout your postings.
I knew Gil had been posting a story online, but until this weekend I hadn’t logged in to read it, it’s so much fun. He was lucky to have this creative outlet and all of you as his friends. As I see in many of your comments and agree with completely, we all need to live our life, laugh when we can, extend compassion to our community, and be grateful every day. Thank you to all of you!
The SWAT heard ‘round the world! The only saving grace is that kitten claws are so short they seldom penetrate an adult cat’s luxurious pelt. Penetrating human skin or clothing … that’s a whole ‘nother dish of kibble! Been climbed by many a kitten: in blue jeans it’s tolerable; in light slacks it can leave some minor scratches; on bare skin (shorts or swim suit) it is like a tiny little chain-saw running up your leg!
Thanks for all the prayers, hugs, purrs, bumps, and boops from the Mega Orb; between those and some additional meds to calm the tummy and spark the appetite, he seems to be feeling a lot better today. He was actually perky when he and Papa came in this afternoon, and he was really happy to see his bowl filled with dinner … and the two treats that came afterwards! I’m praying that this continues at least for the next two weeks until the next chemo session. Of course, I’m really hoping that the next session won’t knock him back as much as this one did – he was feeling bad going into this one. With luck, he’ll be in good shape before the next one and it won’t hit so hard.
Thanks again for all your good wishes and positive energy – they do help!
