I’d like to know what parts of those ancient clothes to which Gunther was referring (WITHOUT having to use Wikipedia nor Google).

So nice to see Gunther with someone who truly appreciates his unique talents.

Still waiting to hear more about the codpiece; I’m sure Tiffany is too.

Gun. Gun? SAVE it. You’re losing Tiffany and forcing many of Us to Google half the words you’re using today. You keep that up, and Tiffany is liable to reconsider Les’ (GAG/VOMIT) “proposal” from last week.

On a lighter note, Bets is cute. But IMHO, She is VERY CUTE whenever she is shown in profile like in today’s Panel two. (SIGH)

And while I like that Bets hangs on to Gunther’s every nerdy word, I really like it when Bets interacts with the Strip’s female cast members.

I got a feeling Bets May one day be the answer to a number of Tiffany’s “problems.”

WOW! – With Bets, Gunther is able to flirt with nerdy stuff. Usually that can kill even the first 15 seconds.

So…of course I had to look them up…a jerkin is a sleeveless jacket usually made of leather…a bumroll is a roll of fabric worn around the bum (duh!)…and a farthingale is a hooped petticoat to form and extend a woma’s shape. A look inside the mind of the artist….Gunther, what DO you have on your mind?

Ah. A point for me! (Sounding like Luann here). Gunther did make the costumes as I guessed yesterday. Sorry, Tiffany, nerd-speak boring you? Now you know for certain Gunther is not the guy for you but he will always be your friend. Cherish him as a friend who was there for you when you needed a friend.

Did Bets insert your codpiece?

In the last panel, as Gunther is telling Bets how he hooped her farthingale, his codpiece increased in size by a factor of 3. Now, we have figured out what really turns him on.

The reason we have a PAIR of trousers is that back then they were separate leggings and the codpiece was the pouch for your junk

Also, before I forget, Gunther’s legs got really skinny – see the first panel. His legs have atrophied because he doesn’t need them as he is spending all his time in bed. Bets is wearing him down.

She loves him talking “nerdy”? It’s a match made in heaven.

Gunther better mind his P’s and Q’s around Tiff. If not, Bets will make sure he will need a good nurse. Like Florence Farthingale.

I would say that Gunther and Bets are in love.

So, Gunther is a master seamster? Fantastic.

I have to admit it. Bets and Gunther are really sweet together. And yet, Gunther’s skill in making costumes is impressive and can become a gold mine, if managed by someone with a great administrative talent. Someone like Bets!

Lovin’ it. Been a historical and fantasy costuming fan for a loooooong time.

Only Gunther can talk about parts of costuming that sounds like it could be anatomical, without diving in to the perv pool. Know Les, not only couldn’t he make the costumes, any remarks he’d make about them, would certainly fall into the perv pool.

Bets is a cutie, were I a cartoon character, I’d be happy to custom fit her bum roll.

Everybody is talking about the outfits and conversation, while I’m over here looking at Tiff Saying, uh oh, Her thinking wheels are spinning again…

This chased me back to my smartphone dictionary. I have heard or read all these terms, using in novels or literature of some type featuring Victorian, or Elizabethan periods in Brit history, but this was done is such a brilliant way. Absolutely hottie, cutie Bets, very handsome and happy Gun(ther), sweetly incredulous Tiffany, and hilarity ensuing double entrendre. I think GnkK are hitting their stride for a comic with characters who are young adult.

This is one of my favorite strips. Generally always humorous.

They are so perfect for each other. I’m going to have to remember that lingo next time I’m at a Renaissance Faire. Don’t know what it meant but if it makes a hottie in costume chuckle…WIN.

Very fun “double entendre” efforts today by both Gunther and Bets. I am not 100% sure how much of the “double entendre” Gunther is realizing he is saying…. I suspect he realizes some of it…. but may be simply being “nerdy-factual” for some. Bets…. I suspect she “gets” that everything they are saying is BOTH factual and a “double entendre”.

Tiffany…. she too gets the “double entendre” part… but probably ignores or overlooks the factual aspects.

I must say that this week and last have been WONDERFULLY REFRESHING….. in terms of Gunther and Les….. both have been portrayed in ways that are not the antagonistic “Oscar-Felix – Odd Couple” dynamic that had been most of their story the last year or so. The portrayal of everyone in the last couple of weeks (Brad-Toni) and now Tiffany, TJ, Les, Gunther, and Pru…. have been really great IMO in showing some progression for the characters AND a lot of humor too.

They’re so cute!

Its obvious that Gunther has a real talent; now he just needs to figure out how to make some money doing it and then move OUT of that toxic relationship with his mother, Mister grey, and most of all, Leslie

Don’t forget the strong perfume. Back in the day they didn’t have underwear or nearby flush toilets. Strong perfume was used to address most every issue.

The Farthingale basically spread out the Skirt and showed off the nice expensive fabric the gown was made from.

Oh my gosh! These two are so cute together! Really, a match made in Heaven. Stop trying to push Gunther and Tiff together. They’re friends only. Ditto Gunther and Luann. Gun and Bets are a team! I love this!

Tiffany has plenty of attraction to offer for men. If she picks a wrong one its her own fault. Gunther may be a little kinky but not gay. Nice Middle Ages costume, but not female. An engineering student is a great catch although in their little group they may not realize it yet. He may have found a soul mate in Bets.

Gunther does do a pretty “faire” nerd, I dare say! Bets is cute; I hope all that velvet and stuff doesn’t give her a heatstroke here in high summer!

And the interaction between the two must be giving Tiffany something to think about….
