OMC!!!!!!!!! Lupin! Beatrix! The poster! Agnes is going to report on the heist, but not participate? Or is she acting as a diversion so the others can get more pie? And Lupin will take her place in the gang. . . but maybe Puck wants to be a bad boy, too.
Love the Official Sunday Intro of the Robber Mice! And Bea’s reaction had me cracking up as quietly as possible, so as to not wake up my mother…Careful with the phrasing of that invoice, Bea, or you’ll end up with some pie that looks suspiciously like the pie that’s just gone missing as the payment…
A patient bursts into a doctor’s office, “Doctor, I believe I’m a deck of cards!”The doctor calmly replies, “Go sit in the waiting room, please, I’ll be dealing with you later.”
Speaking of food here’s a cute story for everyone: One of my cats has trained me since he was a kitten; when he clinks his metal food dish that means he’s out of food and needs more. One morning recently as I slept he clinked. I ignored it (he can wait a bit). Clinked again. I asked my son, who was getting ready for school, to please feed “the cat”.
Son: Mom, he has food in his other bowl.
Cat: Clink
Me: Ugh, just feed him!
Son: He has food!!!
Cat: Clink…clink
Me: Feed him, I don’t care about his “other food” bowl.
Son: Okay….
Son: (after adding fresh food to the empty bowl) OMG! Cyrus (our cat’s name) is now eating out of the other food bowl!!!!!! The one that already had food in it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me: Oh dear.
And that kicked off a whole day of our cat being in a bad mood and doing things just to make people mad (attacking family members as they walked by him, attacking his mom, our other cat). So I cuddled with him, kissed him, and told him that we all have bad days and that I hope his day gets better and voila! he stopped acting out.
Sunday Funday!!!! The Mega-Orb gives so much, I’d like to give back to the Orb, but of course, I can’t do it alone. Since soon we will no longer need a spoiler zone, I think if we had a designated spot each week for folks to share something fun, great news, a funny story, a joke, anything. This is not to prescribe that this is the only place or time to do it, if you have great news or something to share at anytime, by all means DO so!
Just like the spoiler zone, whoever thinks of it first on a Sunday should start it, even if you don’t have something to share!!!
Poor Beatrix. I bet she’d just got all the station supplies color coded when the mice scampered through and stole everything. She needs to include a “time and effort” on that invoice.
Do Puck and Elvis really care about the pie or is it the principle of the thing? Now if it were ham on the line, I can see mobilizing the defenses in an all out effort but … pie?
Lupin’s the cat of adventure. So he’s going undercover – secret agent cat with the Felinity Bureau of Inquiries – to locate that stolen equipment and get it back! And protect the pies and steal back that pirated frequency! 8D
The Cat of Adventure is turning to the dark side! I guess seeing Goldie being rewarded with food after she stole (ahem, borrowed) his tape recorder, realizes that crime DOES pay after all.
It looks as though we will be getting regular broadcasts from the robber mice from now on! I wonder if something like this will be used to introduce Goldie to all readers?
Note to self: investigate feasibility of installing moisture- and crumb-proof cover for ergonomic keyboard before next edition of Breaking Cat News airs!
Thank you for the mug shots of the mice. When I stretched it I discovered that they’re different colors. Now all I have to do is associate their names with the pictures. I see fine but I’m a text person. No landmarks in directions, please.:-)
Great wardrobe choice, Agnes, so professional. Perfect for your premiere official broadcast. Of course, the girls got a taste of stardom after the raccoon incident and (I both presume and hope) there is no stopping them now. These four girls were born to be stars. I look forward to frequent updates.
A cat who sounds like a horse when he’s running around is not a good addition to a burgling scheme. Plus, Lupin, you should be loyal to your humans, NOT the mice!
This strip is instantly added to my top fav BCN strips. I really really want to see Lupin join the robber mice in their pie heist. I think he’d do it for the adventure….and pie ;)
I would like to request prayers and good thoughts for one of my cats ( Munchkin) who had recently lost 2 pounds since August, and her gait has changed, we went to the vet yesterday and it looks like she has developed diabetes, they plan to put her on insulin, I am bringing her back to the vet for Tuesday. I am just a little afraid — I had a previous cat that was on insulin for about 1 month, needed no insulin for 1 week, then died after a seizure, and don’t want that to happen again. Thanks for reading this
It looks as if the real life Lupin has had to resort to using a notebook and is guarding that notebook to make sure it isn’t stolen like his tape recorder was.
Uh oh, their in serious trouble now. Beatrix will pester them until they pay for what they stole. And then she’ll pester them to pay for the payment they stole in order to pay for the equipment they stole. And then to pay for the payment they stole to pay for the payment they stole to pay for the equipment they stole. If their heads hurt as much as mine trying tofigure out all the payment for payment stolen, they’ll be better off just giving the equipment back.
On a different note, did Georgia do this strip for the folks who ask about which robber mouse is which? Really should have individual bios in the cast page.
Definitely OT…of our 3 feline adoptees, I knew Sally and Charlie Brown’s back story. Sally was in a hoarding situation; she was under a year when we adopted her, and had already had been pregnant (the vet was pretty sure she had not had a viable litter); but there was no other female cat in the house when the cats were rescued; we figured her mother was dead or had been a transient visitor to the hoarder’s house. Either way, she not a very present mother to Sally, who needed a some “how to be a cat” training when she came to us. Charlie was born at the SPCA, and both his mom and his brother died soon after (pneumonia)…he then got pneumonia again and had to be kept away from the other kittens for a long time. He needed a lot of “how to be a cat” training, most of it courtesy of my sweet Linus (may his name be a blessing). But Schroeder, the most mysterious and “problematic” of the current kittehs, must have had a great mom…he just hunted down, killed and ate the elusive pantry visitor…and left no mess! His mom must have been amazing (and very neat)! (Don’t tell the Robber Mice!)
We had to take our Scottish Terrier MacGregor into the hospital today as he was acting way out of it. Like not even peanut butter was worth the effort, it turns out he had a really nasty fever of 105.8 and his liver enzymes were through the roof. He is going to have ultrasounds done tomorrow morning, but he had to stay overnight and they are going to give him fluids and some antibiotics to hopefully break the fever which is our main concern atm. send him happy thoughts and hugs.

Just found out a local cider mill is offering cherry and apple pies both sugar-free. Fifteen dollars each, but WORTH IT!
I also know of a place that ships sugar-free pecan pies, but those are $35 each. Still —

Cute pouty Lupin before: “I totally understand how batteries feel because I’m rarely ever included in things either.”
Cute robber Lupin now: “Dang it! That ends now!”
Maybe he’s more interested in stolen electronics than pie, though, since he himself was a crime victim?

Sing a song of four mice
And one Robber Cat
Pumpkin or apple pie

When the news was broadcast
Lupin said this was the time
“This may be my only chance, I am gonna crime!”
Puck was in the studio making up a chart
Elvis was making up a plan
Just like a work of art
Beatrix had her ballpoint adding up a bill
