I see the Man has them in tow – the Woman must be on treat duty. Much the same when I was growing up. My Dad took me around the neighbourhood until I was 11 or so.
Just a quick OT: Asking for positive thoughts for my wife, Marie. She’s in the hospital tonight, possible gall bladder surgery tomorrow.
Also asking for warm thoughts for MrrrCavity, our feral. I haven’t quite got his shelter finished (because of above), and the weather here has turned cold with wet snow. There are a lot of other places he can go to be warm and dry, and he is street wise, but still, I really wanted him to have it by tonight. It’s just been one damn thing after another for a week.
I keep wondering, though — the Man and the Woman had to get a special exception to keep Lupin in the Big Pink House, which has a two-cat/family limit. That’s why they couldn’t keep Beatrix. Might Goldie end up with Beatrix and Trevor’s woman, or maybe with Sophie and Tommy’s? And is Beatrix’s compassion overruling her alpha female senses?
She’ll be just fine. My husband had his 6 years ago and he’s just perfectly fine! GL and all you need to do is take care of her when she comes home. :)
You might tell her this later, when she’s done with the surgery and feeling better.
When I had my gall bladder out (years ago), I was lying on the gurney outside the operating theory, and a green-clad figure came up to me and said, “Hello, I’m Dr. So-and-so, and I’m going to be your anesthesiologist. In a few minutes when the operating room clears out, we’re going to wheel you in, and do you know what we’re going to do?”
Now, this was not as dumb a remark as one might think, he wanted to be sure he had the right patient with the right procedure coming up. So I said, “Well, as I understand it, you’re going to hack out my gall bladder.”
The doctor nearly lost his cool. He had his mask on, so I can’t tell for sure if he was giggling. Finally he said, “Well, the usual term is ‘surgically remove,’ but that’s the general idea.”
Just realized belatedly, no complaints about skunk smell! So Louie ran away and did not spray. That was enough to scare the raccoons away but no harm done.
I… I wore the boy’s costume to trick or treat when I was 6 years old. No, I tell a lie: instead of a sensible mask that you can see out of, like he has, I think mine came with one of those awful hard plastic masks that covers your whole face, the kind held on by an elastic string. It kept slipping around and I was usually breathing out of one of the eye holes and couldn’t see a dadgum thing most of the time.

It’s taken me this long to realize that the October Halloween special has featured a ton of characters in elaborate costumes.
…I’m gonna just go to bed now.

Hand with a plaid sleeve, panels 1 and 2. Is it the Man who is accompanying the Boy and the Toddler?

Ah! A view of the back of Tommy’s head! So cute, just as is Lupin’s. ( I know Cat19632001 will agree with me!) :-)

So lovely. With today’s panel four yesterday’s broken heart begins to mend.

I don’t think that they are “Robber” mice any more. I think that they are now “Reporter” and “Camera” mice.

“Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Tho’ your dreams
Be tossed and blown
Walk on
Walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone"
You won’t be alone from now on Goldie!

And Elvis escaped the Woman’s nefarious silly suit costuming this year. Yay!

From Michael Jackson, here is You Are Not Alone
A cold dark Halloween,
Friends nowhere to be seen,
How could this be,
No People here with me.
They left without goodbye,
Did they have to go,
And never tell me so?
…….
So I hide out here on Halloween,
With ghosts and ghouls all around,
Then two raccoons come and let me know:
You are not alone
We are here with you,
And as a matter of fact,
We are really cats!
…….
You are not alone,
You’ll soon have a new home,
Lupin just may frown,
But soon he’ll come around!
…….
You are not alone,
You have friends all around,
And soon you will find,
People can be really kind!
…….
You are not alone ooh,
You have friends,
You are not alone,
(Fade out)

I think Bea should hand Goldie back the recorder with a suggestion Goldie herself return it to Lupin and thank him for its use.
