Don’t know about the rest but the second picture from right is definitely a “revised”Michelangelo…

    Great gallery though.

Surely a recreation of Michaelangelo’s ceiling of the Sistine Chapel detail showing “Hand of God giving life to Adam”?

Pretty funny anyway. The sort of thing I’d expect “The Far Side” to produce (except may be with Cows - the museum of Bovine Art, perhaps).

C’mon! I was looking for fine swine art. You know, the black velvet painting of the pigs playing poker.

I think the far right is Gainesborough’s “The Blue Boy” or the blue piglet, if you prefer.

The one at the far left (with the umbrella and the big butts) appears to be a takeoff on Georges Seurat’s “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.”

sayhowURfeelingB4URgone: far as I know, the government doesn’t run any pig confinements (unless the defense budget committee in Congress counts). There are lots of big, stinky private ones, though. Wall Street comes to mind.

No, the government doesn’t “run” any pig confinements, they just wallow in them. The last 22 years in the white house come to mind.

Lewreader, in real life, I’m proud to have my tax dollars fund art museums. And if I get to have a say on where my tax dollars go, I’m not having any of them go to subsidize the airlines or the farm subsidies or politicians’ health care. So there.

CDWard, sometimes art is supposed to shock our senses, and yes, disturb us. The pictures of the body piles at Nazi death camps are the highest calling of art in our culture. Informative and real. Yet, they offend me. Some art is supposed to make you think. Some art is supposed to offend you. Was Edgar Allen Poe an artist, or just a perverted sadist? Who cares? It’s great art.

Yes, of course it’s Michelangelo’s David – left trotter to mouth, head turned slightly to left, right trotter directly down.

The slight lean is not quite depicted, that’s all.
