Businesses have all kinds of gag rules, most of which will be enforced (if at all) by firing, though some of them may include lawsuits if the ex-gaggee has enough money to make it worth going after… or the CEO/Owner/Board is intent on revenge.
I’ve never worked in a place that did NOT have a “don’t discuss your salary” rule. And I’ve never worked in a place where the employees didn’t discuss it, sometimes causing a good deal of angst or worse.
It was either this… or Cement Shoes. No one wanted to dirty their shoes with forcing you to Dig Your Own Grave. But… no one will talk about where your body will go.
AMAZING how everybody here has such a negative view of corporate businesses. . .need to work on their image. . .better yet, need to change the way they do business with the employees. . .
You guys haven’t been paying attention to who is getting laid off and what kind of deal they get. The guy on the tracks is middle management (or lower) and in exchange for the pittance they get by way of severance, they have to stay silent. You don’t need to feel sorry for the ones with the golden parachutes.

Those aren’t boards. They’re the (railroad) ties that bind.

This is the opposite of a Golden Parachute so we need a name. Preferably another oxymoron.
“On Track for a Career Change,” is good, but too long.

I suggest they back far away if they want to watch the execution. Blood and brains are about impossible to remove from suits.
