Great excitement from the viewers. Everyone exclaiming over the appearance of THE MAILMAN! But do mail persons really exists? According to Elvis…..no such thing.
Better have Bea turn on the Plaintive Mews to go along with that acorn, Homestyle. Sometimes the trees just like to attack, and the Mailman may not look closely without some backup attention grabber.
Mailman or Mail-Myth? Clearly, he is a people of legend, story, and song! The USPS is a force for good in the universe, as are Homestyle and THIMBLEFIST!♥♥♥
“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” Exceptions may be made for a bookstore kitten stuck in a tree!
Yay the mailman to the rescue. I remember my sister rescuing a baby squirrel way back in the ’70s and she still feeds them via a bird feeder at her house to this day; always a sign of a kind hearted individual. Hopefully the acorn dropped initiates a chain of events that leaves all happy by the weekend!
Georgia is wonderful at plot twists and turns….kudos to all mailpersons everywhere. There have been many news reports of mailpersons being the first to get help for people in need as well.
Saw this online down in Fort Myers, real life kitten rescue at one of the Seminole gaming Casinos. https://nbc-2.com/news/2020/09/16/cat-rescued-from-tree-at-seminole-casino-hotel/
My dog/Honey loves the mailman, let me clarify that she would love to EAT the mailman/Bob and since she can’t get him she usually attacks my mail, talk about the dog ate my homework! At least Bob’s a good sport and understands most of the dogs on his route feel the same way as Honey.
Queen Catshepsut the Golden: I see everyone has returned safely from their travels, except where is Lupinium?
Puckmosis: He’s with Kara and Van at the Owl Temple to play some hoops with Wicket.
The Queen: Very good. And have you finished at the Great Pyramid, Beatrixia?
Beatrixia: Yes. I’ve finished filing all the scrolls away.
Elvis-Anum: But let’s have no nonsense about the Papyrus Cat.
The Queen: Anyway, I have good news from Afar. Adobe Style and Iron Glove will be visiting with us for awhile to start a new fashion project. And I understand Thomios has a few new projects as well.
OMIGOSH! [yes, I’m shouting with glee!] Have Pucky’s prayers have been answered by the appearance of the Man or [dumdumdadum] the MAILman? Thimblefist says he’s magical, so that’s why I’m leaning towards the mailman.
Imagine with this beautiful, new day, the lilting light notes of Morning Mood by Edvard Grieg … … with the soothing, stirring voice of ‘Thimblefist, the Shoutmunk’ as he beckons Beatrice to awake with … …
Aaaaaaaaah!!! The Mailman! He will rescue Beatrix and now Elvis and the others will have to believe (I have a suspicion that Goldie, having been outside for so long, already knows and believes in the Mailman, for someone who shares his lunch with squirrels and shoutmonks would surely also share with a homeless cat)!
Wow, a really great arc with so many if our favs, and a shout out to USPS, what a great way to start my mornings, ❤️ to all of you from smoky central WA
I was once kind of rescued by a Fed Ex driver who saw me and my lawn tractor roll off into a small valley when a piece of road gave way under it. Using my training as a horse rider, I stepped off as it went over so I was okay. He helped right the tractor which was fine, too. Scared the poor man to death, though. Delivery people, whether mail or packages, are often first on site when disaster happens and have saved numerous lives. Beatrix is in good hands now.
Constitution and Citizenship Day —This is the day that the US Constitution was signed. In celebration of this holiday, I suggest that anyone who has not done so already read the Constitution and Bill of Rights. If you have already done so, keep them in mind when you vote. And there is something I think we should all do: send a copy of the Constitution and Bill of Rights to every one of your elected officials—because in the unlikely event that they have read it, they need to review it, having forgotten most of it. Cynical? Who, me?
Free Queso Day —No, not the imprisoned Hispanic Champion of Justice. This holiday was founded by a restaurant chain in 2010, and they give away cups chile con queso, so it’s commercial. However, I am inordinately fond of Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican food, and really good chile con queso, made with one of the varieties of soft Mexican cheeses, is a delight no one should miss—true comfort food.
National Monte Cristo Day —Not the count, the sandwich! The count is fictional, the sandwich not, but “Monte Cristo” is a much better name then croque-monsieur, which I’m told means “bite a man”—only the French …
At any rate, this is turning into a fairly cheesy day.
National Apple Dumpling Day —At least it isn’t cheese … Although apples pair well with cheese … There’s a thought: Apple dumplings dipped in chile con queso. Now that’s fusion cuisine.
Locate an Old Friend Day —If you have to locate them, how much of a friend are they? However, you need someone to help you eat all this food, though I’m sure Gent is willing to help. Bears are omnivorous. (Note to Gent: That word doesn’t mean to “eat it all,” rather that you can eat anything edible, silly old bear.)
Since my apartment complex office is no longer accepting packages, they now have to be delivered to individual doors. I have taken to going outside a few seconds after I hear the knock and calling a thank you after my mailman. The extra effort is appreciated!
And even better is that if the People in blue is walking under Bea’s tree, then she isn’t “…deep in the Wild Lands” as Mags said. (Of course, to the raccoons, human territory could be considered the ‘wildlands’)
She’s very much in range of somebody with a ladder, or even possibly within jumping distance of a human she knows and trusts.
A few days ago, I saw two chipmunks facing off on my porch. I’m not sure if they were going to fight or make baby chipmunks, but the Amazon delivery guy scared them off before I could get a good photo of their face off. (My storm door has glass panels from top to bottom with cast iron scroll work keeping it secure.)
