Puck’s eyes , big as saucers, show his wonder and awe at being held by his mythical hero. And then to be told he was a good little guy, well that was like being awarded knighthood!
Oh, Pucky! You are melting my heart. Now my computer screen is going all blurry! I’m so jealous of the mail man. I think every single BCN follower would love to give and receive such a sweet hug!
Thank goodness! I have been hoping his name was from Robin Goodfellow! I have been fearful that it was in reference to Hockey. And that he was an abused cat. Maybe we will find out more about Lupin’s name!!!
You are being conned, Puck! This is just an ordinary man in a mask. I haven’t seen him deliver a single letter, let alone go to every house in the world in a single day.
Friends for life! Poor tired Beatrix is off to “Never Neverland” and she certainly did not need “Enter Sandman” to help her along! The Woman’s mask reminds me of Breakfast at Tiffanies when Holly Golightly and Paul Varjak stole the masks from the Five and Dime though I think Audrey Hepburn was the cat and George “Hannibal” Peppard was the dog!!
I love getting FIVE panels in one day! It happened yesterday too – what a treat! And Puck’s hug today, aww!!!! Good to find out Puck is named after a Shakespeare character. I always connected A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is my favorite Shakespeare play, with that black cat’s name, but for all I knew he was named “Puck” for his mad sliding skills on a slippery surface.
Okay, I’m going out on a limb here, doesn’t everyone feel this way whenever Georgia herself gives us a “like?” blush. chuckle. I am soooo happy for dear little Puck. This has just been a wonderful arc.

Festival of the Latest Novelties —"Sold only as a novelty," the most dangerous words in advertising—and sometimes the most amusing. Anyone still have a bobblehead troll? I can see by all the nodding heads that many do.
National Bluebird of Happiness Day —Unless it flies overhead, especially when you aren’t wearing a hat … I’m not sure why or how a “blue” bird became associated with happiness, which is the opposite of being blue. Humans, what a concept. Whenever I hear the phrase “Bluebird of Happiness,” I remember a line from a parody: “May the bluebird of happiness fly up your nose.” Ouch.
National Cherries Jubilee Day —Life is just a bowl of cherries, so add some ice cream and flambé it brandy—much better now, isn’t it?
National Punctuation Day —Que Victor Borge and his “Verbal Punctuation.” If you haven’t heard it, it’s a hoot, as well as a send-up of romance novels. And that is all, period …
We had several of Victor Borge’s records – When they originally came out, which shows how old I am! So funny, and you really should hear the “verbal punctuation” if you haven’t.
My Peep Toads mug arrived today, finally. It got stuck for over a week in a processing center near Cleveland! Figures! (People in my end of the state refer to Cleveland as “the mistake by the lake.”)
It is of such good quality. I had worried that the design would get distorted because the mug is narrower at the bottom than the top, but they managed to keep it from warping! The folks at Zazzle couldn’t have been nicer about tracking the package down, getting it moving, and offering to send a replacement via express mail if it couldn’t be found. ♡
“More mellow than mischief” ah that our Puck could have been so described! BUT NO!! He was truly and accurately named. I still miss his little tuxedo morning greetings. We now have Jade and Pippin, the black shiny mini-panthers, Belle the giant fluff ball, and tiny (3 month old) grey and white “tuxedo” Gandalf. Pippin got so named because even less than two pounds, he was FEARLESS. Still is. And he is loving playing with Gandalf, who is now half his size (Gandalf just reached four pounds) I somehow feel sympathetic to those poor homes who have ONLY one cat!
Puck knew he wasn’t a myth. Elvis insisted on the myth thing because he has be the one to witness something for it to be real. And yet Puck is more observant than Elvis.

Cherish is a word we use to describe
All the feelings Puck has for his magical hero guy
You don’t know how many times Puck wished that Elvis believed him
You don’t know how many times Puck wished that you could hold him
You don’t know how many times we’ve wished that we could hold Puck
Too and he’d purr and cherish us as much as he cherishes you
And it’s true
Pucky’s hero
And Bea’s, too
And ours, too

From Paul Williams, performed by The Carpenters and others, I Won’t Last a Day Without You
Day after day, I must face a lot of challenges
And temptations, too, what can I do?
It’s nice to know that there’s someone I can turn to
Who can rescue me, I now can see
…….
When there’s no gettin’ out of the tall tree
When my best friends don’t believe you’re true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But am really glad that there’s you!
…….
Deliver letters, and bring boxes
That is what you do, but not all I knew
You are a hero, you came and rescued my friend
From the tree, and I can see
…….
When there’s no gettin’ out of the tall tree
When my best friends don’t believe you’re true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But am really glad that there’s you!
