Luann is brandishing the toilet bowl cleaner to ensure that the girls don’t get into a fight. Who wants toilet bowl germs?? Time for Luann to confess that she knew Bernice was not the one who got Tara kicked out of Moony U. Just get this over with. For tomorrow’s strip, either the girls will get into a fight or Bernice asks Luann why she is hiding Tara at The Fuse and snickers with “What has Tara done this time?” or “I am surprised you hid her in a storage room. She could have stolen all this, you know?” To which Tara yells that she did not steal the lounge TV and was trying to get the candy or chip from the vending machine after it ate her money (a common occurrence).
Ugh. What is a thief going to do, steal you? Not even Luann is dumb enough to be stolen by a TV thief. Maybe the Fuse’s supplies, but not Luann. And Bernice is not just a spy. She’s a stalker. It’s just creepy. She sure is a fast driver tho.
Debo decir que Bernice tiene la razón. Los antecedentes de Tara y sus diálogos en esta tira demuestran su egoísmo y mala actitud. Ya es hora que Luann le de un buen uso al cepillo de baño y trate de solucionar esto.
I knew it, friends fight, Bernice the old, and Tara the new Luann doofus big heart in the middle. It’s about time Bern and Tara fight out how they really feel, but I think they will feel differently about each other in the end although they will always be competing as to who is the better friend. And Luann is the middle with toilet scrapper. Hilarity ensues!! Called it!
What’s funny in this strip, is Bernice claiming she “protects” her “friends.” And in her I’m-perfect-and-always-right idea of herself, she probably believes that.
All Bernice does is criticize, insult, sneer at, and otherwise belittle other people, especially Luann, who has always been her primary target. It’s the only way she can make herself feel superior to everyone else.
Bernice doesn’t have friends, just people she hates less than others.
Silent alarm activated. Police arrive, see female armed with undetermined weapon and call for backup. Minutes later SWAT team arrives, followed by TV trucks, reporters, and cameras. A hostage rescue expert pushes through the growing crowd and starts speaking through his bull horn. One very Keystone Kop episode ensues, along with our expected hilarity, and Bernice misses her bedtime.
You know, Bernice is a busy body who should mine her own business but Tara can not really tell her to get lost as she really has no business being at the Fuse either. If Luann was a logical thinker (NOT) she would be calculating damage control right now as in how to get Bernice to keep her mouth shut and calming Tara down so that she does not anger Bernice so intensely that she narcs her out. It seems that Tara does sincerely believe that Bernice had a role in her expulsion from the U (right or wrong) so this is probably the last person she wants to see besides her cousin. Speaking of which, there is still a Friday or Saturday for her to appear.
So, LuAnn shows up and knocks on the back door of The Fuse, and Tara says come in and then Tara tells LuAnn that she’s leaving. Then while she and LuAnn are talking they hear a noise from the other room and it turns out to be Bernice.So…. How did Bernice get inside? Did she have a key or what? Or am I just missing something here???
I usually try not to do two comments even when I am right, which I am here, whatever happens next. Bernice haters CHILL! She is worried about why in tarnation her friend is sneaking out to be with Tara secretly in the dark of night. She hates Tara, although I have maintained that Tara may have done something dumb, but she is a troubled young woman, but not a criminal. Assumptions about both, Bernice is a horrible sneak, who might not be doing this because she is worried about her bestie while Tara is a thief and just bad person, and anything opposite those MISPLACED assumptions are not at all projection: hate Bernice because she is that bad little so and so who jumps into people’s business and has nothing good, like a friend she really cares about? Oh no, she is a you know what and you don’t like her. Tara is a felon on the make, stealing or burning down the Fuse; that she might be in a serious fix, and Luann has the heart, head, and bravery to risk a lot to help her because she needs help? Nah. So much projection, so much misplaced hate, so unable to see what Gnk is banging on your heads, trolls!! Now tomorrow there might be an issue with the cousin, they might fight, but I think Luann will get them to calm down, and I think maybe people might need to look at this with a different eye. Also if I guess right someone, I hope Ox will rescue them if necessary, but hate and projection toward these two characters, and dumb, witless Luann just fries my shorts. (lol) Rant over, and Mordy I ain’t ducking.
Luann forgot to disable Find My Friends before disappearing on her secret mission, but Ber(not)nice remembered to check her FruitPhone to track down her prey. One day at Knott’s Berry Farm that tool showed my kids weren’t even in the Farm when I wanted to round them up before dinner; I found out the ride they were on actually extends beyond the park boundaries, and Find My Friends/Kids really did work.
In this situation Luann is legally allowed to be at the fuse. She has given Tara permission. Bernice on the other hand just broke into a business. She did not come in through the same door as Luann which seems to open directly to where they were. They could press charges against her. Luann has a key given to her by the owners. They can revoke her privilege and remove her from the site but Bernice can go to jail.
Time for Luann to be, again, the voice of reason. Bernice and Tara can’t stand each other. Especially Bernice can’t see Tara at all. She calls her a thief looking at her past while, at the same time, Tara calls Bernice a spy by looking at her present. For me, Tara is right. But Luann must have the last word! I love this situation♡. Outside of the story itself, it’s really satisfying that everyone who accused Tara ti be still a thief now have to realize to be on the same side as Bernice.
Tara said too much. Now nosy Bernice will demand to know what Tara needs protection from. Luann should tell Bernosy that everything is fine and she should go home.
There has been some speculation about who else might show up to confound this plot.
Who would show up at the Fuse early for work? The answer would be the food prep crew. That would probably be TJ. But he wouldn’t make any plot sense here.
It might be Nancy, but all indications so far have shown her arriving home from work too late to make supper. Also opening the Fuse would be a very long day for her; day in and day out. Nancy and/or Frank would be a stretch except for some excuse that they were disturbed by Luann and Bernice’s leaving the house and followed Bernice.
There’s no logical reason for it to be Jack. Why would he be there? What plot advancement would there be with the three girls?
The cousin would be another stretch and is probably just a McGuffin. If it is the cuz, there would be a back story that hasn’t been revealed yet.
And why Utah of all places?
Maybe the police; if anyone. Investigating early a.m. activity or that open door.
Crazy relative shows up with a gun. Right behind is Ox who subdues the crazy relative. The DeGroots get a call from police and show up next. Luann is grounded for a year.
it is disappointing that a standoff between Tara and Bern is what this arc has come to (as opposed to a myriad of other more interesting options) not to mention so many moving parts being left out, like how the *$%! did Bern just walk in through the front door in the middle of the night when the place is closed and should be locked. Obviously no one is there since they are arguing loudly right there on the premises. You would like to think there could be some element of realism. Will Frank and Nancy or others who work there ever know about this rude misuse of the Fuse?
Lordy lordy, we’re back to three 13 year olds suffering from premenstrual teen angst having a hissy fit around a toilet brush. you just can’t but be in awe of the creative wonder of it all.
How did we get Bern in bed, talking two her brother and Jack in her head as to where Luann was to I knew it was Tara and they are together at the Fuse.
Now Tara’s crazy cousin shows up, armed and dangerous, proceeds to tie the three of them up in the supply room, steals from the till and the safe, Bern is able to place a secret 911 call, police arrive (Dirk), where the crazy cousin barricades herself inside, sets the place on fire, enter the DeGroots, along with Brand, Toni, and fire department. In the meantime, Tara is able to wiggle free, they freak out in the supply room, with Tara and Bern still arguing, then Luann points to the ladder and roof hatch, which they use to escape. All the while the Fuse is in flames, everyone is freaking out that Bern, Luann, and Tara will all be incinerated, but luckily, Shannon points out to TJ they are on the roof. Brad and Toni come to the rescue just in time, the whole place collapses and as they sift thru the debris, they carry out a body bag containing Tara’s crazy cousin.
Memo to Bernice: Luann is a grown up. You do not have control over her comings and goings, who she sees or doesn’t see, who she helps or doesn’t help. Get a life of your own and stop micromanaging hers. You are a guest in her house. Act like one. Whatever happens between Luann and her parents over letting someone stay over night there is none of your business, either. Why is this so hard to understand?
I’ve been unable to comment for the last couple weeks which is probably just as well since this story is easily the stupidest thing Greg and Karen have come up yet. When last seen Tara was in a snit because Luann had busted her chops in art class. They never made up but now they are BFFs. Tara has a problem with her cousin violating his or her parole. Well, rat him or her out to their parole officer. That would get them sent back to jail. End of Problem. Tara says she was going to live in her jeep, as so many Californians do, but she sold the top. So go to a hardware store, buy a 10×8 foot tarp and some bunji cords. Throw the tarp over the roll-car and tie it down. Instant tent. And where did Luann get a key to the Tuse’s back door. She has no ownership stake in the place. Only her parent’s do. Nor does she work there. Thus there is no reason for her to have a key. While the Fuze closes at 11PM (if I remember correctly) that’s onlyl for customers. It would be closer to midnight before the person has left, the floor sweep, the kitchen scrubbed and sanitized and the last of the garbage taken out. Then the Fuse probably opens at 7am for the breakfast rush, meaning someone comes in around 6:30 to turn on the grill and set out the various ingredients. So Tara would have to get in around 1am and get out by 5am. Not much of a sleeping arrangement. There is no logic in Luann
Harking back to the black-out series some weeks ago, I’d like to put on my Mr-Know-It-All hat an note that even very weathy Sen. Ted Cruz did not have a back-up generator in his house. It’s not something most people have or think about, People expect the electricity to always be on.
Is there someone kind enough out there to tell me WHEN the story arc about Gunther following Rosa to Peru (?) happened? I have tried to look it up, and can’t find it. I don’t remember this happening AT ALL, and I would love to read the storyline and get caught up! Thank you in advance!
Yes, Bernice is nosy. Yes, Bernice can be snooty, and overbearing, and all that jazz. All true. But, that being said, Bernice cares about her friend and wants to protect her. She thinks she’s got Lu’s back. Maybe she’s off the mark, but I think her heart is in the right place, even if her actions aren’t.
“I had no idea and then Jack suggested it based on no actual evidence but now that he’s been proven right I’m going to take advantage of that for a vaguely accusatory declaration and hope Luann won’t tell him about this!”
Bernice has no business studying to become a therapist. She lacks empathy, diplomacy, is quick-tempered, and judgemental. She is better suited to law enforcement, detective work, repo man, something that uses her spy skills.
First of all, I don’t “hate” Bernice. I hate her BEHAVIOR! She’s not worried about Tara doing harm to Luann; that’s just something she’s yelling to try to justify her bad behavior. It wouldn’t matter if Bernice thought Luann was secretly hanging out with the Virgin Mary and Mother Teresa, Bern is furious because Luann DIDN’T TELL HER!. As far as how fast she “followed” Luann, I don’t think she followed her at all. She knows the way to the Fuse, and she probably got dressed quickly and drove to the Fuse as the first logical place to check to see if Luann might be there. She was right, but not because she did any extraordinarily fast dressing or driving.

Isn’t it about time for one of Luann’s parents to walk in and ask just what the heck is going on? Methinks the girls got some ‘splainin’ to do.

Yeah that toilet brush Luann is wielding should definitely stop that girl fight.

“I knew it!” is a lot more concise than
“I had no idea and then Jack suggested it based on no actual evidence but now that he’s been proven right I’m going to take advantage of that for a vaguely accusatory declaration and hope Luann won’t tell him about this!”

Bernice has no business studying to become a therapist. She lacks empathy, diplomacy, is quick-tempered, and judgemental. She is better suited to law enforcement, detective work, repo man, something that uses her spy skills.

Dump Bernie!
She is nothing. Just a constant irritant! Get smart, Luann; you’re better with dodgy Tara than with b*tchy Bernie!

Is Luann’s friendship with Bernice about to be over? We have two more days to find out!
