Crossing allllll my fingers, toes…and everyone else’s fingers and toes. Please don’t let Gunther regress into pre contacts wearing Gunther. Please don’t let Tiffany regress to the version of her that Had never worked A-day in her life. Please , pleeeass, tie some of the loose personality traits with Bets in this arc.Especially why It looks like she’s held a single emotion for 3 straight weeks?On Monday we had a mishap with the French in the 1st panel,  And then a mistake with the coloring in the second panel. Yesterday fleshed out that Bet’s and Tiffany still care about each other,  and far from feeling apathy. Now let’s land this plane. The past 3 weeks have been super engaging and I’m invested.

Come out, come out wherever you are! It’s time to grab the bull by the tail and face the situation! Come into my parlor said the fly to the spider. Pay no attention to that cowardly voice behind the curtain! And other aphorisms.

Bets should just go ahead and vocalize this: “Oh, so not only am I not getting the apology and refund that you lured me here with, but I’m being ambushed by a person I’ve been trying to avoid? And you thought this would end well?”

Seriously, this little stunt is chipping away at the goodwill I normally have for Tiffany.

Don’t blame Gunther for hiding and staying behind the curtain. This is pathetic. I wouldn’t blame Bets if she is disgusted and sprints off. Tiff, this is not one of your better ideas. It was better to just leave it be and be supportive of Gunther like he was for you. Gunther tried to contact her and she ignored him so that said it all for everyone concerned. You will leave, right, Bets? (she better do so).

You lied to me, you tricked me, you ambushed me, and now you expect me to swoon at the romance of it all, sit down and enjoy a romantic dinner with my stalker.

I know what my response would be, but then I’m not an Instagram influencer. It’s Bets, so maybe Gunther will get lucky and she’ll pull out her phone and start posting pictures of her romantic adventure.

She stays and reconciles with the stud, or she does an about face and leaves in a snit!!!

Wow, people want Gun to be a man, Tiffany has set up the meeting, now Bets I hope is written as the character who really wants Gun and can be a true friend to Tiffany, WHILE HILARITY ENSUES DARN IT.!

There’s a lesson to be learned here: Never discount an idea just because it is stupid.

Tiff’s expression in the second frame is funny. Tiff looks annoyed that all this isn’t going like clockwork. Bets could save the day with a snicker evolving into laughter – the only intelligent response.

Is the zonk prize behind curtain 1, curtain 2, or curtain 3?

Come to think of it, having Gunther become entangled with a bunch of thorny roses would be a perfect twist to the arc, as Tiffany and Bets would unite in the need to take him to the hospital.

Things are not going as Tiffany imagined… Reality is much more embarrassing than fantasy. I don’t know if Bets and Gunther will talk or not. I hope so because the way Bets left him in a parking lot without a word was atrocious, but maybe that’s not going to happen. But at least Tiffany tried.

If anything, Tiff has brought the within speaking distance.

The best outcome is if it is a talking curtain.

If you’re going to do something Gunther you really should do it with confidence.

Now Gunther will finally learn the truth about his “relationship” with Bets. He was just an accessory all along, a prop for her social media life. If he had meant anything more to her, this subterfuge of Tiffany’s would never have been necessary. Time for Gunther to unload her as excess baggage and get on with his life.

And what if this farfetched idea works? What then huh, Gunth?! :D

So who does Bets scream at first? Tiffany or Gunther? I hope Gunther sticks up for Tiffany after he sees how badly Bets keeps treating her and he finally tells Bets to get lost.

What outfit will Gunther be wearing? Maybe a pirate outfit in an attempt to appease Bets?

But you agreed to it, Gunther. So come out and be prepared for Bets to tell you, to your face, that it’s over.

Not his idea, but still willing to go along with it.

It is a bit weird that somebody as obsessed with her appearance as Tiffany has not gone on a diet by now.

Time finally for the flash point. The big reveal of the week! Bring it on and raise that curtain!

Alright, honestly speaking, it wouldn’t make sense narratively speaking for them to actually break up before Gunther has a chance either to stand up for himself or to have a moment where he recognizes that he should have higher standards for himself. Let’s just hope it doesn’t take too long for either option.

if it is not your idea (aka: " I don’t want to do this ") then why are you going along with it? as much as i want to see B & G reconciled this is not the way forward on that. If Bets feels like she is being tricked she will walk right out.

This reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode called: “The Chaser”. The Chaser (13 May 1960) … A young man obsessed with winning over an uninterested beauty gets more than he bargained for when he buys a love potion to gain her affection. Now, if Gun only had a love potion of sorts…

Not a fan of any of the three. Tiff, because she is being manipulative (though with good intentions)Bets, because she is always looking for a fight (though out of self preservation)And Gunther, because, he can’t stand up for himself. Saying “I love you” was a huge moment for him and he has defended Bets on multiple occasions, but here he is, literally unable to stand.

I hereby take BACK those 10 points I gave Gun yesterday. Plus another 50 points for screwing up.

Instead, I’ll gave all of those points to Tiffany. Her plan is so STUPID it’s positively BRILLIANT.

I mean, LOOK. If Tiffany’s plan succeeds and she brings these two back together, then she is their “hero.” Meaning she’s got two book-smart friends firmly in her corner, that will be useful allies in the future. PLUS she KEEPS that 300 bucks and she doesn’t suffer the indignity of having to apologize. And most importantly, she’ll be ALL up in their business.

And if Bets storms out? Tiff will have saved Gunther a life-time of misery, gets to KEEP that 300 bucks, plus not suffer the indignity of an apology. Plus she’ll still have at least one Brainy though submissive friend. And she’ll STILL be all up in their business.

They might as well start drawing Tiffany and Gunther as six year old children because that’s how they behave. Bets is better off without either one of those bozos.

Tiffany’s idea couldn’t be more dumb, but she meant well. Bets OTOH is just nasty through and through. I’d take dumb over cold-hearted any day of the week. As for Gunther, just pathetic.

The only thing that will save this for me and give me a laugh is if Gunther is in some stupid costume. Maybe Tiffany got him to wear a big teddy bear suit, or a big heart covering his private parts, or even better yet a Cupid costume complete with head wreath and bow. Since he can be talked into anything I hope she went for it! As Mordock999 observed, Tiffany’s real intention is to deflect attention away from the apology and refund she doesn’t want to give, so bring on a costume!

Tiffany is trying to do something good here….. but appears to be failing.

Gunther is trying to fix the situation with Bets….. but appears to be failing.

Bets is trying to get an apology and her money back….. but appears to be failing.

Overall…. thus far…. a week that sounded as if it would be filled with “hilarity ensues”….. but has been anything but. But, the various potential “outcomes” also seem a bit unpleasant:

1. Gunther comes out from behind the curtain and is mealy mouthed and timid with Bets, and whether or not Bets and Gunther reunite or not…. Gunther seems to lose.

2. Gunther comes out from behind the curtain and is a bit angry, and again, whether or not Bets and Gunther reunite or not…. Gunther seems to lose.

3. Bets recognizes Gunther’s voice and before anything happens she high-tails it out of there. Seems like everyone loses.

4. Bets recognizes Gunther’s voice…. and a literal argument between the three of them ensues. Again, seems like everyone loses.

5. Tiffany keeps trying to finagle things between Gunther and Bets….. to no avail. Everyone loses.

6. Tiffany keeps trying to finagle things between Gunther and Bets…. and they reconcile. It still seems like everyone loses.

Blech.

One final thing…. Tiffany’s dress….. so odd looking on her. The triangle “peek-a-boo” opening is not attractive. The dress looks like a 1980s reject dress. Actually, it looks more like a pajama “dress” that many women wear to bed.

It is odd that Tiffany is having a bad fashion moment….. other than during her depressed, “sweat pants” period, she has typically always tried to be stylish to a fault.

Do Bets and Gun need to have a long talk, yes. Is tricking Bets to get to that talk worth it or will it just push Bets further away.

Does anyone else HATE Bets as much as I do?

Oh boy, the bomb is about to explode!

It just struck me that Tiffany is behaving very much as Shannon does when staging one of her “performances”.

Nothing Tiffany or Gunther is doing is near as bad as what Bets did to Gunther. She deserted him in the parking lot with no way home and then she ignored his phone calls and texts for weeks. Bets is by far the worst of anyone of these 3.

Is Gunther scared of her? Can he not say No to anyone? He sure seems to get mad and yells alot for someone who never stands up for himself.

Bets has not actually broken up with Gunther. As far as he knows, they are still dating. She needs to tell him that she is not interested in him anymore. Only a weak coward scumbag would treat someone like this that they used to date.

True, it wasn’t your idea, Gunther, but you went along with it.

Dumb idea, Gunther! Now it is definitely over between you and Bets! Let’s see the dialogue the next three days.

Bets will get mad at both of them, and tell them that they were made for each other. After careful consideration, Tiff and Gunther agree, and then thank Bets, and wave her goodbye.

You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do.

Why is that concept so hard to grasp?

Way to go, Gunther. If I didn’t know you were so klutzy, I might accuse you of deliberately sabotaging Tiff’s effort to effect a reconciliation between you and Bets!
