I can confidently say Starbucks has not produced anything I find even slightly addictive.

This is one of those times that I take great pride in the fact that I don’t drink coffee.

I smell a lawsuit, not coffee.

Bingo! Whenever someone serves me coffee, I always thank them kindly and remark, “Say YES to drugs!”

Starbucks make terrible coffee so you have to add a lot of crap to it, then they charge you a lot for it.

Sugar is more addictive, but then a lot of it is in Starbuck’s items.

I worked as a barista years ago at Starbucks while between jobs, and discovered that sleep is entirely optional when you have espresso.

Coffee used to upset my stomach until I stopped putting additives in it. And by drinking it black, I can appreciate the nuances better.

Me never has no Starmucks. It just plain ol’ good ol’ filter coffees for me.

I was at a school book fair (as an adult). A police officer freind was there representing DARE. He tried to surprise me with an unexpected question. “What is your favorite drug of choice?” Without hessitation I told him “Caffine”. His reponse was “Good answer”.

In the same vein there are “Dunkin’” donut shops here with long lines of cars extending into the street awaiting coffee when we make it at home cheaper!

Seriously the drug problem today is overwhelming. Goat is right.

I will drink the occasional dark roast from Starbucks, although I find the brew-on-demand coffee at WaWa and other similar convenience stores perfectly acceptable. I did try a pumpkin spice latte once out of curiosity and it was awful, sickeningly sweet. Just thinking about it is enough to give one cavities.

What I really like is a nice latte or cappuccino, served properly in a wide-mouthed cup (not those horrid paper cups) so you get the right ratio of foam to coffee.

Isn’t it a little early for pumpkin spice lattes? It’s July, for Pete’s sake.

Caffeine is addictive. Good thing I don’t drink coffee.

I do; but I make my own with Malabar Monsoon, special untreated Demerara sugar, 1/2 & 1/2 goat cream, and my organic Sippy Cup. But I’m not hooked. Nope.

Starbucks is overrated

I googled “Dreamland” since that is what Goat is reading…it’s about opioids. My addiction is Trader Joe’s cold brew instant coffee. ;-)

Drug companies are the BIGGEST DRUG PUSHERS IN America! Next are the DOCTORS who peddle their trending drugs. Shameful! I know 3 doctors who were getting kickbacks and got caught! Rightfully so!

I’ve never been to Starbucks. We have about three of them in my entire country, and I don’t know if any of those three are even still open. Coffee, I drink maybe one cup a week.

Starbuck’s is closing some stores “due to health and safety concerns” – wanna bet what percentage of those stores are going to turn out to be unionized?

Like quite a few commenters, I also think that Starbucks is highly overrated, and way too expensive. I tasted their coffee only one time, and just couldn’t believe how bad it was. My Gevalia Signature Blend costs me about $.45 a cup, and it tastes so much better.

If the drug issue was only about coffee, this could be very funny. Sadly multiple thousands live on the streets and hundreds of thousands are dying and millions of lives are being ruined as a result of pharmaceutical manufactured addiction and illegal drug addiction, and China manufacturing drugs for distribution in North America as a weapon of war. That is not funny….

Starbucks coffee is subpar. find a local chain or store and support that.

What I don’t understand is why, if people claim to like coffee so much, they go to places like Starbucks to spend exorbitant amounts of money to make the coffee taste like something else. ??

Caffeine is a drug.

There is nothing wrong with coffee, it’s the $5.00 a cup for over-roasted coffee or over-sugared abominations. Though Starbuck’s greatest crime against God and nature was the popularization of pumpkin spice.

Caffine is the most addictive drug, and yet it’s the one we worry the least about. Can’t say I worry about it myself, while I’m not a coffee drinker (or what claims to be coffee these days), I do drink lots of soda and tea.

Sooo…the news tonight said Starbucks is closing some locations, mostly on the west coast due to ‘safety concerns’ aka crime.

They better watch out up there with Starbucks.
