There is a song “Caribbean Queen” that I hear as “Caribou Queen” because I pronounce Caribbean with 4 syllables whey the singer pronounces it with 3 syllables. I don’t expect Eddie’s story to go there, but he’s crazy enough that it might.
That’s the best explanation on how reindeer can fly that I’ve hear so far. While the penguins can’t fly by themselves, they can fly when carrying the reindeer.
First thing I thought of was a popular drink in Quebec that they drink at “Carnaval”, their version of Mardi Gras. At the time, it was popular to drink it from hollow plastic canes that they would carry around. Only time public drunkenness was tolerated.
My sister asked my brother-in-law what happens to the poor little hummingbirds in Montana when the winter freeze comes. He told her they ride south on the backs of ducks. She bought it. I let it go.
“montegreen”: I think that’s the name for the phenomenon where we can’t understand the words in a song so we fill it in with what we think the words say. Well known example from CCR: “Yeah, the bathroom’s on the right.” Another one for me was Steely Dan’s ‘Bodhisattva’, a word I hadn’t heard before, so it sounded like ‘forty seven.’

I think this is a re-run, the reindeer covered in penguins looks familiar.

Flo’s most frequent response to Cap’n Eddie. But, because of him, she has a lot of tolerance for the other nuts that show up.

There’s no trees in the Artic, so the penguins have to roost somewhere, right?
Remember, a penguin is just a turkey in a tuxedo.

The caribou then hitched a ride on whales to get them across the oceans.

So the penguins were carrying the caribou at first? I’d like to see that.
