So the Manse as Storage Unit worked out so well last summer, is she planning a B & B this summer?

I read the newspapers daily and I haven’t heard about a wave of burglars that break windows and then leave without entering.

Instead of inviting Dez and Bets, how about inviting Smith and Wesson?

Tom should come home and supervise the work. It isn’t safe for a woman of 19 to be alone for days in the mansion while work is going on. She needs to have some company so that no one knows she is completely alone all that time. She doesn’t even have a good guard dog to keep her company. Besides, how will he know the job has been done to his satifaction, that it will indeed protect his daughter?

Tiff looks like the bride of Frankenstein.

WTF?!? Nobody, Ever, refers to the house they live in as the manse or mansion – except maybe some materialistic, out of touch, snobby – oh, never mind…

First, see if Tara’s larcenous cousin is back in town. Tara could handle the get away car. Second, we must suspect that Tiff’s daddy might have money, but his track record really isn’t good. Tiff’s mother abandoned her baby and Tiff’s father. And, can’t forget that Ann Eiffel nearly conned Tom into a rush-rush marriage.

And, Tiffany. Do what other beautiful, young, sexy rich girls do. Have daddy set up a trust fund for you.

She needs some of your stress tea.

If a burglar comes, Tiffany should just string up a couple of paint cans.

HOORAY! Tiffany asks Dez to stay with her for the summer! This is exactly what I was hoping for! Of course, the way she asks was completely unpredictable. Hilarious! Tiffany’s totally scared face in the second panel is really intense. But just the thought of Dez being with her changes everything and she seems so genuinely happy. Maybe she could invite Bets, Gunther, Les and Ox to stay as well. Form a group of cheerful friends capable of calming and protecting her.

Terrified, indeed, Tiff is already a mess. Great second frame.

Looks like it’s time to spend time at the range, Tiff.

Tiffany needs self-defense training and a guard dog to get her confidence back.

I love how the art got more detailed and creative in the second panel.

I think that we know the burglar’s name. The juxtaposition of the year-old arc of the mansion window breaking and the recent Piro arc is not lost on me. The burglar has the surname of Starr. It’s just a matter if it is Walt, Tara, or the mysterious bad cousin mentioned in passing.

Can’t she just call the police?

Still trying to figure out why Tom would pay huge property taxes, upkeep and utility bills for a mansion when he’s never there and Tiffany only spends summers there. It’s actually a miracle that nobody’s broken in before now since the house is usually empty. A two-bedroom condo would make more sense.

Burglars seldom come when people are home. That’s kind of the whole idea of a burglary. If one does come, run to where the circuit box is, kill the electricity, and grab a bread knife and skewer. Your burglar is now alone in the dark in an unfamiliar place with a crazy violent person who is on their own turf and has long knives.

Dez is the perfect roomie for Tiffany. The calm to Tiff’s crazy.

TJ is a better choice. Kill two birds with one stone.

So…. apparently this “Manse” story arc has been developed to show us that Tiffany has perhaps psychologically developed monophobia….a fear of being alone?

Perhaps not too surprising…. since she has always had a bit of wanting to be in the “center” of attention most of her life.

Yet, somewhat interesting as for quite a while she had a single dorm….. living by herself, but then again even there she was technically surrounded by people within a few feet of her dorm door.

But it means the dad doesn’t know even though the police know. Therefore, Tom is the ditziest. This situation is so lame, I miss Piro.

So the break in was LAST summer? And she stayed at school and with Les and Gunth, and hasn’t been home? So all these break ins occurred over a whole year? For all she knows, the Manse has been cleaned out!

I suppose this proves the adage, “Misery loves company.”

Dez, before Tiffany talks you, and, Bets, into staying with her at the Manse for the summer, brew cup a cup, or, two (or, three,) of your soothing tea. Maybe, just maybe, those herbs will help with Tiffany’s anxieties.

Is Stephan King going to get a walk-on cameo in this arc?

Dez can serve the tea….

That’s a good idea, Tiff. Dez can serve the burglars her tea, and they’ll become so docile that arresting them would be a cinch!!

Of course, Daddy Dearest would be PO’d if Dez got the reward for their capture.

I may have missed it, but did anyone mention another possible summer roomie for Tiff? Let’s see, Bets, Dez, Kipp—anyone missing from that group? Could that be where this is heading?

Panel 2 – Tiff, you never looked so good! Just kidding. Poor thing. She’s terrified and rightfully so. I like @Ivlax suggestion about Bets & Dez. At least then Luann will have a reason to be a freaked-out terrified mess.

Last year at this time Tiff was telling Bets that she was a private person and wanted Bets to respect her privacy. I guess having no faith in the security system and having been scared and injured has changed that. Will Dez create an organic garden of the back lawn? Whatever happened to the gardener and cook? There must be someone to care for the grounds. She’s been on her own with Dad out of town many times before college. But again I’m tossing logic where it never goes on its own!

The next stand your ground story in the news

Dez is a terrible choice to stay with Tiffany. If a burglar broke in, Dez would try to change their attitude and tell them they don’t really want to be a thief. That probably would not work with most bad guys.

Much Ado about a broken window that was barely big enough for a squirrel or raccoon to get through. As many raccoons that fall out of ceilings these days, it’s a thought.

ie. You can be my watchdog!! Which is what she really needs.

This ought to be hilarious summer of Luannverse at the manse. I man Dez, Bets (maybe Gunther), and did we forget Steph? She won’t want to be by herself all Summer. All the foundation for hilarity, has been carefully prepared over the last year or so if one thinks about it. What could possibly go wrong.

Actually there is likely more theft/assault/rapes in the average college dorm than in an upper class neighborhood. Often these crimes are not reported by eitherby the victim or campus police.The window was broken 9+ months ago. Besides if she is still 19 that would mean she is still a sophomore and last year never occurred.

For a security system to work it has to be backed up by armed private security. Since 95% of alarms are false alarms set off by pets/accidents police put a low priority on responding unless the security company has a verbal confirmation there is a break-in.

Give him some tea when he kidnaps the two of you.

Her feelings of desperation are understandable if you have ever been broken into. It can really leave you feeling vulnerable.

I think it be so totally cool if part of the security system install introduced a new character – Tiffany’s handsome, darling, smart, brave, loving guard puppy. We could watch him grow up over the next ten years, or would he grow up faster like Punk did? But what breed? Maybe Jack has a candidate at the shelter??

And I totally get what it would be like for her in that place, sounds really really creepy to me! I would have that place so full of puppies and kitties so fast Tom Ferrell’s head would spin right off!

It’s only a week. Invite Jack and Ox to form “Defenders; Mansion Protectors” and stay while the security system is installed.

Dez, you will need a cup of your happy tea before you answer that question!

Just take Kip and lots of T’s Teas. Maybe have a major announcement in the fall.

Tiff is certainly not making a convincing case to Dez as to why she should move in. Besides, living in a mansion does not fit with Dez’s core self and the kind of activities she would want to spend her summer doing.

I think Tiffany needs more of Dez’s calming tea.

Wouldn’t it be an interesting scenario if Ann Eiffel works for the security company and oversees the work at The Manse? Hmm…

That terrified Tiff image in panel 2 is terrific (naturally). But her attempt io inveigle Dez into being this summer’s patsy is deceitful and dubious at best….

Are we seriously still on this? That whole burglar scare happened back in September!
