I agree this story is too slow moving. Suddenly I remember Buzz Sawyer. The Eugene Register-Guard was flooded with complaints, so the strip was pulled. The only thing we missed was knowing if the baby was a boy or girl. Come on. Speed it up.
Okay, so what does Luann do if Mrs H asks the class to write a creative synopsis of their summer? Does she embellish her story to try to “one up” Tara and impress Walt? I mean, what did she actually do this summer besides argue with Bernice?
Walt on the other hand, may have an interesting story to share, perhaps he did other things besides go parasailing. Maybe he writes about seeing a red headed guy getting dumped at the bus station out of an old ruby red van by an irate girl in an Uhura TOS costume who was throwing the kitchen sink at the odd, crying, meek looking kid and this made Walt realize his life is not so bad after all.
Piro looks so happy to see his cousin and Luann again. It’s nice to see how for him Luann is a great person, talented at coming up with jokes and entertaining people. He has accepted her as a friend and likes her jokes, this is a huge step for a person suffering from depression. Being next to her will certainly be good for him. It’s also nice to see how Tara doesn’t get in the way and lets her friend talk to her cousin, limiting herself to greeting him with her hand. Despite her worries, she trusts her and that it will be good for Piro to have her around. Mrs Horner is full of energy as always. In short, it’s a wonderful Back to school. Let’s hope Piro don’t start asking Luann questions about Bernice, making everything awkward.
Maybe take Pedro to the furniture store to get one night stand since they already have had one and would like a matching set. Badda BING! Thank you. Thank you very much lowly unworthies. The Count will be here all week. Don’t forget to tip your waitresses, drive safe and God Bless.
Do not quit your day job Luann, even if it is just a few hours a week tutoring middle school students who will develop a crush on you or Pitt High jocks who will plagiarize your work and beat you with it in a contest.
Luann needs to carry a rimshot recording with her at all times. But seriously, does anyone really appreciate non-stop one liners? It’s childish and annoying. She did get the half-wit part right though. Glad to see she acknowledges her shortcomings.
Luann’s reminding me of Fozzie Bear with the corny jokes. “Waka Waka!” For real though, I hope Luann keeps it up with the worn-out puns that way Mrs. Horner can get fed up enough to deliver a punchline before Lu can. Then Mrs. Horner can say, “Give it a rest, dear, your material’s older than ME!” to which the class will have a laugh at Luann’s expense.
Then Luann could try to elevate her humor by doing crazy pranks and the whole writing class lesson plan gets derailed. The cherry on top would be Piro admitting he doesn’t even like comedy he just was trying to be nice.
This is such a long set up between Luann (and don’t forget repressed Bernice) and Walt/Piro as to which one will be his paramour, or he her (their) paramour as well. I think Walt and Luann anre made for each other, but what GnK see is another thing.
It’s always so sad to see a woman who is trying too hard. Try being a little bit reserved, confident and thoughtful Luann. Men don’t want a loud, yammering jokester, they prefer a woman who isn’t blatantly advertising themselves to the world, or making a loud-mouth fool of themselves in public. No one wants to date an embarrassing girl.
