Maybe Iggy’s also read The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus and remembers that Santa isn’t the ONLY one who size shifts to get in and out of houses. If they nab one of the actual fae helpers, there could be a few…issues…
Eh good luck with trying to nabs that sneaky shapeshifting alien cat. But alien astronut theorists is warns you they very elusive and you may be has disappointment.
Even if OZ manages to catch Santa (a definite possibility, and one I kind of wish for in an odd sort of way), it will turn out okay because Iggy will set him free, and without a moment of hesitation, I bet.
The look of horror on Iggy’s face is priceless. Completely out of left field, I am having my annual mani-pedi. This year, it’s a gift from my grandson, Sean, his wife Ashleigh, and the two little ones Kristian (the little lad with autism), and the littler princess, Kairi.
Poor Iggy, he thought this was an innocent stakeout just to peek. That look of dawning horror! Love Ora Zella pointing at the open jar to answer Iggy’s question.
My aunt Nora was a very nice person, so attractive that she gave many men naughty thoughts. People placed guilt on her for their own naughty thoughts- sort of guilt by association. (They are saying to themselves, “I’m thinking this way, so it has to be your fault, because you’re so hot!” )
Not logical, of course, but Logic often does not spend time in the mind of public opinion.
I hope Iggy doesn’t get tied up in guilty association with his chaotic friends.
Oh, and to make sure Santa does not shape shift out of the jar, better get rid of those air holes!
I think I saw this story line on a Hallmark movie the wife was watching once, or maybe it was Lifetime. Anyway, instead of catching Santa Claus the main plot involved a group of characters that were members of a cult. The staked out a location where they believed a person that escaped the cult was staying in order to capture this person. Instead of a jar, they had handcuffs and van. What developed after that I am not sure. The Hallmark channel and Lifetime channel are not my cup of tea, so I probably left to watch either the Discovery channel, Science channel, or History channel.
Maybe we should trust Lupin, that he has a plan that doesn’t actually involve catching Santa in a jar. I am not exactly sure what it might be, but they don’t actually have to catch him in a jar to prove Lupin’s theory. Though might have to to convince the others.

Iggy needs to line up the reasons they shouldn’t do it.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Workplace of Fe-Anaro, Mightiest of the Elves and Master Craftsman
Fe-Anaro: Welcome back from Egypt, my son. Did you leave your scrolls off with the Master Scribe Elvis?
Mag-Lor: Yes, Father. Elvis did mention he and the Artisans were somewhat perplexed on how to create certain of the finest inks.
Fe-Anaro: What is their dilemma?
Mag-Lor: Their best inks are made using dust from jewels. Unfortunately, your jewels are indestructible through ordinary means.
Fe-Anaro: I see. Fortunately, I do have a solution.
Mag-Lor: What is that, Father?
Fe-Anaro: I have plenty of jewel dust from making my magnificent creations. These jewels don’t make themselves, after all.
Mag-Lor: An excellent solution, Father! In exchange, Thomios has given me a packet of tea and scones.

Brings to mind the movie “The Christmas Chronicles” (Disney 2018). One we now watch every year. Kurt Russell rocks as Santa.

They’re on a stake out
Show her any jar she’ll take it
Give her any rule she’ll break it
She’s gonna make her schemes come true
Doing it her way
Iggy’s worried ’bout her naughty ploys now
Ora’s gonna keep all the toys now
Any unsafe will make her dreams come true
And she’ll do it her way, yes her way
Make her Santa dreams come true, for Lupin, too

wouldn’t shape shifting allow you to escape from the jar via the holes in the lid?
or can’t you shapeshift into the shape of string, or a piece of spaghetti?
