I keep thinking of the line from the old TV show, about how there are eight million stories in the (unclothed) city, and it looks like Georgia has enough material for another ten years and, I hope, even more.

I love the inclusion of the image of upside down Lupin from “the ceiling is floor, too, if you believe in yourself” report to let us know that Lupin will live on forever. I love the image of Beatrix sitting on Trevor’s hat from the Peeptoads story. I hope that was a nod to @BillJackson since that was one of his favorites.

I remember Phoebe And Her Unicorn celebrating its tenth anniversary nearly two years ago in April 2012. Phoebe finally celebrated her tenth bithday after ten years as a nine-year-old girl. She shared her tenth birthday with the much older Marigold Heavenly Nostrils who posed for Medieval tapestries of unicorns.

OT Mothers’ Day

Thank you so much, Georgia, for ten years of your wonderful cats and their adventures. Reading this strip every day helped me cope with the most difficult times of my life, four years ago. Here’s to another 10 years of joy and laughter from you.

From Georgia yesterday, posted so late I thought I’d repost: “While this never happened with a bureau, longtime readers might remember the big scare a few years when Elvis briefly got outside!After a lonnng, frightening search (and me preparing to sleep out in the yard in a tent, not kidding), my neighbor finally spotted him under the shed in a spot his own cat used to hide in. Elvis had somehow gotten wedged in a very narrow spot dug into the ground. He wouldn’t let anyone else near him, and so I climbed down into the briars and ivy, reached my arms under until I grabbed him, and said quietly to him, “ok buddy… we’ve got to slide, just trust me.” God bless him, Elvis tensely slid along the dirt with me, on my elbows, through the ferns and thorns, until we got back to the gap he had crawled in through. That whole incident was TOO MUCH to relive in the comic, lol, but the bureau felt like a cozy substitute!”

My cat celebrated by launching a hair ball on the recliner this morning. He was that excited.

OT: Georgia just posted the original lost Elvis story from 4/2/19 "We had a big scare last night, when life imitated art and Elvis got out and vanished for a few hours!The Man got home from work, walked through the door and asked, “Did Elvis get outside?”“Noooo,” I said. “Well, I just saw a Siamese dash around the back of the house.”He went back out, I began to turn the house upside down (as Puck, Lupin, Goldie looked on) then the Boy called from the living room window, “Elvis just ran across the front yard!” Cut to us walking up and down our street, shaking treats, calling for Elvis, trying to make whipped cream can sounds (a sound he usually comes running for). Our dear neighbor friends Kari, Jeff, and Jayne joined in the search (Kari and Jeff with flashlights once it got dark, Jayne with texts of support and promises to put chicken out for him, to hopefully lure him to her porch).The Man spotted him by our trash, then he was gone again. We all narrowed our search to the backyard. The Man and I checked under the shed probably 8-9 times and could not spot anything, but our neighbor Jeff had a hunch he just had to be under there. While we hunted through the ivy and brambles, Jeff got into the underbrush behind the shed and called to us, “Yep—there he is! I see his fuzzy butt!” I shined the flashlight in from the side, and sure enough—there was a tiny dip in the earth and Elvis was all curled up behind it. We never would have seen him from straight on. The Man traded places with Jeff and then I traded places with the Man, being the one person who can handle Elvis without being scratched to pieces. I got my hands under the shed, up to my shoulders in ivy, blackberry brambles, spiders, and Cat knows what else, talking to him quietly and got him into my hands. We both sat there for a few minutes, with me talking to him and promising to get him out of there, and then finally, slowly, I shimmied/pulled/eased him about two feet to the

I completely believe the story about Lupin flooding the house, but I think the other assertions are untrue.

I wondered if Georgia would have flashbacks during the anniversary week. I didn’t see this coming though. I was wondering about this strip since part of it appeared on Patreon. I thought it might be dreams the cats had had, I like that it ends up being stories that we haven’t actually seen. Like others I would love to see more of these stories.

Another couple weeks, and I’ll have been reading BCN for 10 years. Thank you, bus-friend of my lady’s, for telling us about this so-wonderful comic drawn by a remarkably wonderful woman, the Patron Saint of the Orb, Miss Georgia Dunn.

Thank you to my old friend Kim Metzger (he’s okay, he’s emailed me) for sending me the first Breaking Cat News book and turning me on to Georgia’s amazing world. One of the best presents he ever gave me.
