Judges are in no hurry to resolve these cases. Just a game of Hot Potato until the American voters resolve it for them in November.

If he runs free chaos will ensue, if he loses and goes to jail chaos will ensue, if he wins the election chaos will ensue if he loses the election chaos will ensue. The extreme right wing will see to it. Duck and cover.

‘Awash with speed’: Report calls Trump White House a drug ‘free-for-all’

President Donald Trump’s White House was a “free-for-all,” like the “Wild West,” a Rolling Stone bombshell report reveals, “awash with speed,” while some staffers were taking a highly-addictive controlled substance, the anti-anxiety medication Xanax, then washing it down with alcohol.

Citing a January Defense Department Inspector General’s “report detailing how the White House Medical Unit during the Trump administration distributed controlled substances with scant oversight and even sloppier record keeping,” Rolling Stone’s Noah Shachtman and Asawin Suebsaeng report, investigators “repeatedly noted that the unit had ordered thousands and thousands of doses of the stimulant modafinil, which has been used by military pilots for decades to stay alert during long missions.”

“According to interviews with four former senior administration officials and others with knowledge of the matter, the stimulant was routinely given to staffers who needed an energy boost after a late night, or just a pick-me-up to handle another day at a uniquely stressful job. As one of the former officials tells Rolling Stone, the White House at that time was ‘awash in speed.’”

“It was kind of like the Wild West. Things were pretty loose. Whatever someone needs, we were going to fill this,” a knowledgeable source told Rolling Stone. The news site adds, “Xanax was also a popular, easy-to-get drug during the Trump years, three sources tell us.”

“You try working for him and not chasing pills with alcohol,” a former senior administration official told Rolling Stone.

Now Trump is deteriorating from his dug use.

’It’s gotten worse’: Former Trump advisor admits his decline is accelerating

Reacting to speeches Donald Trump gave over the weekend where he repeatedly slurred his words, mistook President Joe Biden for former President Barack Obama and started sentences that trailed off into silence, Trump’s former communications director admitted she has seen a precipitous decline since 2016 when he was first elected.

Speaking with CNN host John Berman on Monday morning, contributor Alyssa Farah Griffin stated Trump has always had problems recalling facts or people’s names, but he seems to be in a downward spiral.

“I have said this before, he is not as sharp as he was in 2016 and not even as sharp as he was in 2020,” she replied. “For some reason, that doesn’t necessarily come across to voters the same way. But Donald Trump is not the strongest fighter that Republicans could have right now and it’s remarkable how much voters don’t see the age as also an issue because he is only three-and-a-half years younger than President Joe Biden, but there’s something about the way they carry themselves that is just seen very differently.”

“Listen, he’s never been a super articulate or eloquent person,” she said. “But he’s consistently missing up — uh, mixing up names of heads of state. He’s mixing up names like Nancy Pelosi and Nikki Haley. I mean, this is it’s gotten worse, it hasn’t gotten better he’s not nearly as sharp as he was.”

‘His team knows’: White House reporter reveals how staffers try to hide Trump’s decline

“He’s surrounded entirely by enablers during this campaign and would be again if he’d be in the White House a second time,” Lemire said. “There would be no guardrails or adults in the room, it’d be people doing what he wants. To your point, he is not the same guy. You can watch video footage of the 2016 campaign, some of his time in the White House. We played last week a clip from the debate between Trump and [president Joe] Biden back in 2020. It was striking even then how much Trump has changed, how he’s aged. He is in his late 70s, he is only a couple years younger than President Biden. We’re seeing with more and more frequency, even as the media — and we talked about it earlier, how the weekend was full of polls and obsession about President Biden’s age — it is this, Trump, who day after day is showing the signs of age but also pressure.”

“Indeed, pressure because he is not getting as much of the share of the Republican vote as he’d like,” Lemire added. “Nikki Haley posting a win over the weekend. Pressure because of the money he now owes, nearly half a billion dollars in a couple cases in New York City, and pressure that his first criminal case, a case that could theoretically put him in prison, starts in just three weeks. We are seeing it night after night on the rally stage, where he seems to even just lose control of the English language. Mika [Brzezinski] cringes, I can’t help it either at the end of that clip. His team knows, but they’re just forging forward.”

“They’re trying to keep him off the stage as much as possible,” added host Joe Scarborough. “Obviously, they don’t want that out there. They don’t want him on Truth Social. Again, he only hurts himself politically.”

That does explain a lot. One of my best birthday presents was a gift from my wife a few years ago: the complete set of “The West Wing” DVDs. You don’t know how much we’ve been hitting that cache of political sanity lately. The antagonists that President Bartlett had to deal with, were rather quaint compared to the Orange Tornado ripping through our lives these days. Of course, Sorkin would never have gotten away with a Trump-type character; he would have be rejected as “simply not believable”.

Trump is facing the ‘crushing realization’ he has to sell off his properties:

In an effort to explain Donald Trump slurring, fumbling for words and blanking out during his weekend speeches, MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough suggested the ex-president’s legal and financial problems are impacting his mental health.

Dead beat tax cheat Trump currently owes New York $465,727,284.

It looks as if Drumpf be running from his mortality. It reminded me of an episode from “Bloom County” when Mike Blinkley met his mortality.

To BB71. During the course of his lifetime? Name one and if it has anything to do with fraud or sexual transgressions it’s a certainty, he’s already admitted (or bragged) and/or been judged accordingly even though only to a tiny fraction of the probable cases (I seem to remember more than 4,000 cases of being sued for business fraud, mostly breach of contract by small companies/contractors who he refused to pay). More recently? Almost certainly add tax evasion, rape, bribery, graft, sedition and treason. I don’t really care about his politics (not that he seems to have any other than grabbing power and money, his life story) but he is a disgrace to the Republican party, the country, and humanity.
