Me and some buddies rented a cabin last week. The plants by the porch attracted a lot of monarch butterflies. As we were watching them a Praying Mantis grabs a hold of one. As we watched the butterfly thrash around in odd quiet reverence I said, “Well, I guess it’s an Answered Prayer Mantis now”.
Brings to mind the tail of the Frog and the Scorpion … The Scorpion wanted to cross the river and asked the Frog if it could carry it on it’s back. The Frog declined, fearing the Scorpion would sting him and they’d drown. The Scorpion said he would not sting the Frog. Half the way across, the Scorpion stung the Frog … Just before they drowned together, the Frog asked “WHY?!” … The Scorpion replied “It’s in my nature …”

I love today’s punchline by a praying mantis arguing with his praying womantis.

She won’t bite his head off (or cry) over it (= the spilled milk or whatever it is). She’ll bite his head off after he “spills” his sperm in her.

First you must give her a package. And, admit, it’s a solution to your eating the kids.
