At 75, I warm up and work out four days a week. At first I thought I’d like to drop a few unhealthy pounds. But as the months rolled on, I realized, warming up and working out also resulted in a more positive outlook as well. My saggy behind was not the only thing that was uplifted.
I forget who said "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming Holy Sh♦♦! What a Ride. "
Exercise is not just to prolong life; it’s to make life better. I like feeling and looking good all the time. All you have to do is take a half-hour or more out of your binge watching, video game playing, social media posting life and do the exercise of your choice. The people who say things like, “Why work out? You’re just gonna die anyway” are completely missing the point. I find it sad to see so many overweight and downright obese young people.
When i was working, I would walk to someplace nearby to get lunch. When I retired last year, i decided to keep doing that every weekday. It is wonderful to walk to a different place each day of the week, but the restaurants are farther from my house than they were from where I worked. If she wants, I will pick up something for my wife, too. Life is good.

Eventually we all will die. Perhaps there would be a better way to make this comics point.

There are no treadmills in the graveyard. Well, very few, anyway.

There was a nursing home here named Trail’s Edge. They renamed it, presumably because it sounded too much like Trail’s End.

The people in the cemetery are absolutely as fit as they’re ever going to be.

I figure I might live longer if I did run a mile a day. Anyway, it would definitely seem a lot longer.
