“Remember! It’s the cereal I get paid to promote because I’m famous!” That’s a wonderful comment on the society that we live in.
It’s also a good contrast to a strip where Calvin said he wanted a T-shirt because a T-shirt “shows you love a product so much that you’ll pay to advertise it.” Hobbes replied, “You’d admit to that!?”
Sugar day in comics, Dennis the menace today on CK and Arcamax, Dennis and Joey sitting at the Wilson’s table eating cookies and Mrs. Wilson standing behind them with a slice of double layer chocolate cake for each. They do each have a glass of milk to drink with them.
I really am not a fan of the lack of privacy that occurs with social media these days, but somehow I wouldn’t mind if the advertisers were aware of how many times I mute out and turn my back on the TV as their advertisements were airing.
When I was a little kid I heard a promo on the radio and pestered my mother to buy the stuff, since the guy I admired said it was so good. She had to enlighten me about the bitter truth of ads. I was SO disillusioned that he could do such a thing!
I picture the first three panels having the KPM stock track “Curtain-Raiser”/“Starlight Revue” by Alan Braden (as heard on “Ren & Stimpy” and “SpongeBob SquarePants”) playing underneath.
Yup! Can’t stand those repetitive bk? garbage commercials. Or the long winded national window direct patieee-o floors. I’ve got my A1 diarrhea dance in control. But I can’t remember which Little Blue Pill I take for what. :>o
I’m not sure why, but today’s strip reminds me of Linus the Lionhearted being cancelled because it was thought to be little more than an advertisement for Post cereals.

Remember when pharmaceutical companies and attorneys could not advertise on TV? That air time was devoted to cigarette commercials. (Snerk)
Will we consumers ever learn?
