If something is too big to fit………it should stay. If something is too small to fit……… it should be donated…… But that bit of logic goes out the window when Janis’ jealousy at Arlo being smaller wants it GONE!
Hmmm, If Arlo had a tux ready for the occasion, then of course this implies the families of both comic strips may have been in the same location during the award ceremonies? I wonder if Brad met Michael?
Sentimental attachment to clothes worn to important events in my life is how I wound up with overflowing closets. And that’s not even including shoes. Makes me happy just to touch the fabrics and remember.
Speaking of the fourth wall, I am still reeling from the reveal of Ludwig being enacted by a midget in a cat suit, many years ago. I’m not sure I will ever recover my childlike innocence, of believing in these characters.
If they are thinking of moving to the upper Gulf Coast (anywhere from Florida panhandle to Louisiana), he will need that Tux if they go to any Mardi Gras balls. Tuxes for men (or actually full Tails in some places) and long formal gowns for the ladies are de rigueur.
Husband rented a tux for his high school prom (before I knew him). He rented a tux for our wedding, as well as for our 3 sister’s weddings as he was in the bridal party as was I.

I’m concerned about Arlo being sucked into another dimension in panel 1.

Thank you for being here Arlo and Janis!

Maybe the year long hysterical “are we, are we not going to move” story line will win this year.
Not sure if it means anything or not, but in 1992 A&J was still a “gag a day” comic strip.

And For Better or for Worse didn’t stay together in real life. You two are still going strong.

Arlo is the one that’s usually aware he is in a comic strip. It is rare to see Janis be this genre-savvy, too.

It’s always good to have a tux in the closet, for better or worse…

That was a good strip, but Arlo and Janis have aged better.

Glad to see there’s no bitterness about it after 30+ years.

“Bliss” comic strip (not the current one but the short-lived one by Stephen Hersh) ca. 1999:
wife: I’m glad you decided to wear your tux.
husband: What other choice do I have?
wife: You could wear a suit. The wedding is black tie optional.
husband: It’s a decision based strictly on economics. With every wearing of the tux, I drive down its cost per usage.
wife: Do you apply the same rules of economics to underwear?
husband (holding up stained briefs with holes): 17/100ths of a cent!

Never had any other reason to wear a tuxedo.
