Guess the action slowed down so much, they needed a two week vacation.

    Eric Costello again?

This is getting like the Denver Broncos. Always a new quarterback – and a new quarterback competition in camp.

So long as it doesn’t involve dozens of tea pots with obvious structural irregularities and filled with poison it’s got to be better than the last, right?

    Right?

Please, someone tell me it can’t possibly be that bad.

Not only is this set in Argentina, but it is also in the past. Look at the trolly car and style of clothing in the throwaway panel.

In all fairness, folks, writing for a strictly limited 2-week block is a bit difficult. Granted I blocked it our overnight, but I had to drop a lot of details.

I wonder if this convention has a trading room? Maybe Mike Curtis is in there trying to sell his new book, How to Write Dick Tracy Without Writing Dick Tracy. If he’s lucky, he’ll get the booth next to Art Deco or Big Margie.

    (translated from the original Agentinaese)

1- SAMELITO: The body ees een there, Inspector. I theenk…

2-: … Just last noches he was Dirty Dancing with a woman who was too drunk to stand and now he ees dead.

3- EENSPECTOR: pointing upward We don’t say “dead” in Argentina, my friend – we say in Heaven

4-: Regardless, it just so happens that Dick Tracy is in Argentina for a “conference”. As if Tracyville would pay to send him here for that. Anyway…

5-: Oh look – he’s playing with himself! Look at that grin. What a wonderful time he’s having in our country!

SAMELITO: I take it Deek Tracy does not speak Spanish, Inspector. INSPECTOR: What do you think? He’s American – he can hardly speak English.

While I don’t generally agree with the whiney-whiney-it-isn’t-what-I-wanted-boo-hoo nonsense, I have to admit that the art here is … well … Dick Tracy with a big s***-eatin’ grin is just wrong.

Oh, come on, gang! What a bunch of whiners!

I’m with @Major Matt Mason; this art is a pleasant change of pace. The tango scene is very nice, Tracy’s chin looks suitably sharp, and I’m geeking out over that beautiful street trolley in the throwaway panel.
