“That story is going to have to wait for another day”!?!? That “story” was the whole purpose of your furshlugginer interview, Lefty! You were going to do an article about Batton Thomas (Creator of the Once-Nationally Syndicate Comic Strip “Three O’Clock High) and his work on said strip, not his failed attempts at landing a job with DC and Marvel. This would be like getting an interview with Trump and only asking him in-depth questions about running the Miss Universe pageant (”I understand you also worked in the White House, Donald, but that story is going to have to wait for another day!" “No worries…as long as Montoni’s has pizzas!”)
So this is it. CS will not end with a bang, but with every other week being Whimpering Tom telling his boring origin story. Then, it’ll be a week of The Burnings, Tom’s very relevant take on how censorship affected Tom once (kind of), then Tom Talks To Tom again. Until 12/29/24, when the Funkyverse paddles its canoe into the sunset. See you in MURANIA, Tom!
Never before me has see any cartoonist who forcing himself upon the audience for whole weeks like this. When me goes to reads Sherlock Holmeshaft me not wants to reads full chapters of Arthur Conman Double talking about himself. Just me humble opunion that is.
batton thomas was just about to tell the story of his meeting with archie comics . he proposed jughead would buy a pizza place get drunk all day and play checkers with pizza box monster .
Please join us next week for another tedious episode of ‘Old Fogey Pizza Time Theater.’
Tune in when Skip Rawlings regales Batton Thomas about the days when he was a respected journalist rather than the hack he is today. Skip shares how he lost his arm in a NYC subway turnstile incident involving a man in a red trucker cap and windbreaker. The man was an out-of-town tourist attending the opera with his daughter.
Dreadful yellowish pizza and unidentifiable brownish liquid will be consumed.
To this day, Batyuk is perplexed as to why his march into the offices of Marvel Comics and his offer to write ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ was rejected. It’s not like he’s not bitter or anything.
I just realized that both of these characters are Tom Avatars. One of them is the part of Batty that created a comic strip, the other is a writer that just phones in his work.

Just make that day Doomsday, so the end of the world won’t seem so bad after all.

Montoni’s will have pizzas as long as Ohio supermarkets stock Elio’s (Mopey and Min-dull cut the rectangles into circles).

Oh the suspense, I can hardly wait! Will Crank visit tomorrow?

Storyline I’d like to see: Another restaurant opens in town and gives Montoni’s some actual competition.

I still haven’t found Batty’s Lagrange Point (has he ever even been to Texas?), but I’m pretty sure this strip’s falling into a black hole.

So Skippy is ending the story with Batton being a total failure in getting into the comic book industry? That’s pretty cold, Skip. Well done.

I’m happy to see that the rest of the story will have to wait for another day. Hopefully it won’t be Monday.

Monday is a day, after Ed makes an obligatory appearance in the strip that bears his name on Sunday.

But Montoni’s doesn’t have pizza. The FDA has declared multiple times that what Montoni’s sells is not pizza.
