Boy, today’s strip sure brought the narrative momentum to a crashing halt, like a space coupe flying into a brick wall.

On Day 1, Diet told Mysta to say “hello” to Junior for him and now Dick is telling Junior to say “hello” to Mysta for him. This story shall go down as the “Hello Intermediary” story whenever it’s discussed decades from now. Tomorrow:

DT: Excuse me, Tess. I gotta go “shake hands with the Governor”. TESS: Tell him “hello” for me. I haven’t seen him in ages…

During the moon arc, there was a big hoo-raw about if she actually had sex with the evil brother BEFORE she found out he was a stinker.

Two parallel events building anticipation — 1) Who’s driving the Space Coupe, and why won’t he/she respond? 2) What does Mysta want to chat about with Junior and Sparkle?

This story is off to a great start!

1- DT: Junior? Is that you? I’m practicing identifying people with my eyes closed. I don’t smell onions so I know it’s not Sam.

3- DT: That’s odd… Well, since you’ve gone to the rare bother of tending to personal hygiene – the lack of which usually gives you away – maybe I could stand to hook up with you after work. JUNIOR: Still using a falsetto voice SURE THING. gross

In a September 1, 2022 post on the Dick Tracy Fan Club site (Facebook), Mike Curtis virtually confirmed that Mysta had sex with Ro-Zan:

“For those who read the recent daily with Ro-Zan and Mysta……….Mysta is not a virgin. Denny Colt was her first.”

So it IS possible Mysta is pregnant — though I personally doubt it.
