A pig may wallow in mud to help it to cool down. Otherwise pigs like to keep it clean – if confined, as much as possible they will leave their wastes in one part of the space and rest/lay down in another area.

Swine aren’t really into filth. They roll in mud because it protects their sensitive skin from parasites and sunburn.
