Camels in the Thar Desert of India underwent identical adaptations as the sea turtles, with their mouths and esophagi adapting to cacti as opposed to jellyfish.

Of course, it could also just be hunger forcing them to ignore the pain…

    Alligators can be your friends.

An elderly man had owned his large farm in Louisiana for many years.Right at the back of the farm, there was a large pond that was ideal for swimming. The old farmer had fixed it up real nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts and some apple and peach trees.

One evening the farmer decides to go down to the pond, to look it over, as he hadn’t been down there for a while. Before setting off, he grabs a five-gallon bucket as he decides he’ll bring back some fruit.

As he nears the pond, he can hear voices shouting and laughing with glee.Clearly, someone is having a good time.

As the farmer gets closer, he can see a bunch of young women who are clearly skinny-dipping in his pond. He makes the women aware of his presence and immediately they all swim over to the far end.

One of the women then shouts, “We’re not coming out until you leave mister!“

The farmer replies, “Ladies, I didn’t come down here to watch you swim naked or make you get out of the pond. You carry on.“

The wily old-timer then holds up his bucket and says, “I just came down here to feed the alligators!“

Is nature protecting the turtle here? Or failing to protect the jellyfish?

Karin Tabira must have started between age 5 and 6. Last time a spoke to a fugu chef, the training course takes roughly 4 years before a person can apply for certification (I happen to love sushi and sashimi, so I search out the sushi restaurants wherever I go)

What about the rest of the sea turtle’s digestive track? There’s a sensitive part of mine that I wish was protected from jalapeños I ate.

A jellyfish story I would have liked to tell, but I’m sure it would have gotten deleted.

It was about an Australian emergency operator who says, “Ah, bummer mate!” to a guy on his honeymoon.

    Googling it may help.

“…some sea turtles are adapted to handle the stinging cells of jellyfish…”, I wonder how that can be demonstrated scientifically that they “adapted”. As a biology teacher, I have never seen true evidence like this. It is a religious belief -not science- as it is taken by faith to be a true statement.

I saw (nature show) a turtle eating a jellyfish, and wondered about that. Now I know…

As if eating Fugu isn’t daring enough, now you can eat Fugu prepared by a 10 year-old.
