Uhhhh, best not be wearing white socks with slacks in any season.

Why does it matter?

Since when did Elly become such a fashion expert? And why won’t John put on a hat (or at least earmuffs and a muffler) before going out in that freezing Canadian winter??

Frank Zappa once said brown shoes don’t make it. Well, neither did he. If you want to wear white socks, go for it.

Yeah, I’m sure your patients would be aghast if the saw white socks…..not.

Color doesn’t matter as much as thickness. Lighter colors are for warmer weather because they’re not as warm. You need thick socks for winter because they’re warm and they usually come in darker colors.

Wear what you want, when you want.

What does Elly care what color his socks are…especially since she won’t even be with him? What if he told her she shouldn’t be wearing certain color bras?

Who cares about his socks? He should be wearing a hat or at least a scarf.

Don’t wear socks unless a big event like the 2 weddings I went to this year.

Regarding socks, I don’t go by color. Rather thickness.

She’s worried about the color of his socks, but not one word about him putting his shoes up on the bed?

I had two colors black and white. Black for work white for play.

I never wear footwear that white socks won’t work with.

The fashion mags say no white after Labor Day.

I wear white socks all year long with just a few exceptions for special occasions. My pants are long enough to cover my ankles so no one will see what color socks I am wearing.

How silly Ellie sounds with this choice of socks for John to wear. Can’t he ever make up his own mind? Pathetic.

It’s all about status!! “Not wearing white after Labor Day” was a late 19th century trend by the upper class (who took summer vacations and wore white garments to stay cool) to distinguish themselves from the working class. I never thought of Elly as an “elitist” or “snob” before. Man ya think you know a cartoon character…!!

Wear both

Wear all white and become invisible in the snow.

This is why I don’t pay attention to fashion advice. It all seems arbitrary and made up.

For a guy,, the stockings color should match his shoe color or his pants color. White socks and black shoes or black pants went out sadly with Buddy Holly……

This is the second time I have noticed that Lynn draws feet weird. (Not correct English, but whatever.) Feet without shoes seem to look more like hooves. Someone else commented on it a few weeks, so I began to notice.

The total disregard for fashion rules like this is one thing the latest generation has absolutely gotten right.

Then again, I used to know a fellow who grew up in beach-coastal Australia, and he said that he was 10 years old before he had any kind of socks or shoes.

I wear my silk pajamas in the summer when it’s hot,

I wear my flannel nighties in the winter when it’s not,

And sometimes in the spring and sometimes in the fall,

I jump between the sheets with nothing on at all!

You also don’t go out without a head covering of some sort, John!

My mother, 70+ years old, to this day will not wear the ‘wrong’ color socks.

When I was growing up in the 50’s and 60’s, my mother was adamant that one only wore white between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Nothing says “Goober” more than white socks with dark clothing, especially suits.

(1) Who puts socks on LAST? (2) NO, Ellie, they won’t notice. Who looks at other people’s socks? (3) Who cares??

Typical woman with her fashion NON-sense.

Humbug! I wear sweat socks a lot, because they cushion my Fred Flintstone feet, and absorb moisture.

I only wear white socks because I had a bad and long term case of athlete’s foot and the dyes from colored socks can really make your feet burn.

I wear white socks for health reasons, and nobody complains to me about it.

Does it matter anymore…I see so many guys wearing white socks I don’t even pay any attention anymore.
