Oh! It’s a devastating left hook to Dinkle’s ego! He almost went down for the count.
A little bit of reader service, Mr. Batiuk? I think both snarker and non-ironic reader can appreciate this one. I won’t buy a print, but this one is definitely getting added to my GoComics saved comic strips.
I thought Dinkle had his name legally changed to “Dr. Harry L. Dinkle, The World’s Greatest Band Director” before he attended the Rose Bowl Parade a few years ago. You’d think somebody with an ego like his would have had a stack of business cards printed. He could have presented a card to the receptionist.
I wouldn’t have been too surprised if Dinkle appeared in his Generalissimo band director’s uniform.
Dinkle is getting unruly. That behavior should be nipped in the bud. The receptionist needs to call school security to taze Dinkle and have him perp marched off school property.

I gotta say, I made a conscious choice years ago to follow gag-a-day Crankshaft, but not the soap opera-ish Winkerbean strip.

I remember seeing him in Funky Winkerbean years ago as I scanned the comics and wondered who could possibly be reading that thing. Now…
