I really don’t like Elly at this point. If she wanted to have vegetarian meals, say twice a week, fine. But no, she had to make the family go vegetarian without their input or agreement. Somehow I don’t think she would have done this had Michael still been home.

I’ve always hated the smug expressions on some of these characters’ faces sometimes.

Thank you, John, for cutting her down to size. Now, take the kids out for pizza.

Oh, BTW, you’d better sleep in a separate room tonight, John—the master bedroom will stink to high heaven!!

If I recall, a DIFFERENT KIND OF BEAN, is what Jack and the Beanstalk traded for his family cow as payment.

It makes me wonder where this story line is going to turn out tomorrow?

Will the Patterson’s wake up tomorrow to find a giant beanstalk outside their house stretching up into the clouds?

    1) If it looks nice — something which is very much a matter of opinion, — fair enough. But I don’t eat paintings. I eat for two reasons… nourishment and taste. And even what is experienced as taste varies from person to person.

    2) Metabolisms can also vary. E.g., I like various kinds of beans (and to me they don’t all taste the same), but when I eat them, I don’t experience “after” effects.

Meanwhile, I have a brother who has been a healthy vegetarian for decades, but when I tried the same diet, my body rebelled after only a couple of months. It needs at least a little bit of meat.

In Louisiana, we have a dish called red beans and rice. It is red kidney beans flavored with ground beef and/or sausage served over rice. As a student living off $200 a month( in the late 70s) I ate a LOT of red beans and rice. To this day I cringe whenever the dish is offered.

Elly: That is not good for you. Here, watch this.Elly chops up banana

See, I take banana slices and put a few rainbow sprinkles on them. Lizzie like pretty flower? Elizabeth thinks it looks neat Lizzie eat pretty flower!

No single plant that humans eat is a source of complete protein. But, beans and rice together provide complete protein. That’s why rice and beans are so common in vegetarian meals.
