Maybe there’s a group of Mensans called Mensa Menses. But there’s definitely not a group called Mensa Menses Men.

Pig should just join the Menses Mensa who meet monthly on the mesa of Medusa rock to mince mice when they get stoned.

I used to be in Mensa. True story: I read an article in a Mensa magazine suggesting that THE ADDAMS FAMILY was about the fading upper class while THE MUNSTERS was about the immigrant experience!

I do not think that word menses what you think it menses.

It’s an easy mistake.

This has turned out to be a bloody mess.

Totally useless trivia of the day: Both “Mensa” and “menses” are derived from Latin. The Latin word “mensis” means “month”, and “mensa” means “table”.

Pigs are actually some of the smartest animals ever.

I’m reminded of that Far Side comic where the nerdy kid is pushing on the door marked PULL at the Midvale School For The Gifted.

Mensa will actually take anyone. “We need the dues.”

Recently on “The Chase” a contestant stated he was a member of Mensa, and that in order to get in you must pass an IQ test and be in the top 2 percent. James Holzhauer quipped to the other GOATs (out of hearing of the contestant) “In order to get into Mensa you must swear to tell everyone you meet about it.” :) I love James! (BTW, I’m a member, hereby living up to my oath.)

I don’t think you need to take an IQ test to join the menses. Just ask the womenses.

Even if I took an I.Q. test, I’m not sure if I’ll pass.

If Pig identifies as menses, or mensa, then that is what pig is! No one dares question him/he or her/she/ or zer/ze or whatever pronoun applies to a menses mensa pig. /sarc

As far as I know, they give a free IQ test to prospective members. Take it, ace it, and don’t join. Best of both worlds.

No desire to meet the kind of people in Mensa………

I’ve spent my whole life around really smart people and geniuses. My family members are lovely, but I don’t recommend joining a group of them.

Just out of curiosity (and having too much free time), I looked up “menses” in the Merriam-Webster unabridged. After the most commonly used meaning of “menses,” there was another entry:

a : mannerly or gracious behavior : propriety specifically : hospitality

…and a couple of related meanings.

So if Pig behaves in ways that are gracious, polite, and hospitable to everyone (which he generally seems to do), he could in fact be exhibiting menses.

But he’d best have an unabridged dictionary with him when he tries to tell anyone about it.

He said he took it, he didn’t say he passed.

Re: Mensa. To paraphrase Grocho Marx, I don’t want to belong to any club that would want people like me for a member.

Google the line and Groucho for the background of the often used line.

And this strip today would be a bad place to admit you can’t do a simple Google search to find out what a common word means.

In the current climate in the USA, he wouldn’t want to be in Mensa anyway. Those with intelligence and smart ideas are frowned upon, by at least 40% of the nation, which is a sad state of affairs.

If you call it that, you can’t join.
