It looks like a lot of us agree about the foreshadowing. Maybe a classmate named Carrie will show up at the prom.

I’m kind of disappointed in Gunther as a designer. Why didn’t he make a matching bow tie for Quill like he did for himself? Why do neither of them match their date’s dresses? In all of the pictures I’ve seen from family and friends of prom couples in the last few years, the couples matched the cummerbund or vest and bow tie (usually) with the girls’ dresses. And where’s Rose’s corsage? A wrist corsage would be best with that dress. Maybe we just can’t see it from this camera angle. Like others here, I also expected Luann’s dress to be a bit fancier, though it is pretty, and I love the green on her.

Please let it end like ‘Carrie’. Please let it end like ‘Carrie’.

Let’s hope they’ll never forget for good reasons.

I have the same “uh-oh” reaction.

Beautiful scene. The girls look great. Too bad it can’t last. Greg promised complications, and a limo accident seems very probable. Will all survive? Will some be hospitalized?This is going to be a big, big night to remember!

Oh I hope its nothing bad, too much bad in the world right now. More fun would become crazy interactions at the Prom or misunderstandings. Please, no accidents with the couples being hurt or killed!

If this was a different strip, Luann’s words would be a precursor to disaster.

Yeah, I’m thinking something bad is going to happen here…

-Gunther’s cummerbund is not plaid-When I clicked on the strip to magnify the size, it seemed to me that Gunther had a plaid cumberbund that matched his plaid bow tie, but my eyes aren’ t the best. Maybe I saw plaid and it was some kind of line design instead.-I did notice that Rosa isn’t wearing a corsage, though. So I guess Gunther didn’t want to take the chance of, uh, repeating the apparently nerve-wracking effort that Quill went through to put Luann’s corsage in place!-It looks on my screen as though Rosa is wearing a purplish (or maybe magenta?) dress, and Gunther’s tie and cumberbund look sort of turquoise. The colors don’t match, but they kind of harmonize….

I have a bad feeling about this…

Even though it is a comic Rosa looks stunning!

Limos are indeed huge, but they’re rarely wider than the standard Lincoln, Cadillac, etc., donor car used for the limo conversion. Four-abreast seating, as pictured, is unlikely.

(Hopefully this won’t trigger a sophomoric length vs. girth debate… )

No injuries, probably car problems or flat tire.

My guess – each girl wants her guy to be looking ONLY at her – not distracted by seeing competition across the seat. Only way to do that is to have the guys looking toward the corner. Kind of like the salesman in a restaurant taking the wall seat so that the customer has only the salesman and the wall to look at.

I do not see a car crash. I do however see some sort of disaster at the prom.

I remember an episode of “the Cosby Show” where Theo and the guys rented a helicopter and a couple of other shortcuts, and the girls were hot , and not talking about how good they looked, especially considering that the copter ride gave them “windswept” hair that they didn’t ask for! – Could just be a series of things, like getting punch on their outfits, some people getting into a conflict, something like that….

Last week Tiffany was talking over the phone to a work crew about lasers that fire behind the DJ and disco balls that hang from the ceiling. There is ample opportunity for extensive disaster on the dance floor tonight, that’s for sure.

That was my first thought, too. Hope it’s nothing more tragic than Tiffany being an idiot.

The lasers will fire towards the DJ, blinding him. He will start to fall from the platform, and he will grab the cable holding the disco balls above the dance floor. The disco balls will drop onto the dancers’ heads, fracturing the skulls of those that they hit and disfiguring the others with flying shards of glass. Nancy’s vision from 2 days ago of Luann’s prom dress soaked in blood will come to pass. A memorable evening, indeed!

From the first day March17 1985 to April 17 2014 (29 Years)she is finally graduating. BIG congratulations !!!

I honestly don’t see the “parallel” here. Which one of our people would “Carrie” be? Which one would be Sue Snell (Amy Irving)? Or Chris Hargensen (Nancy Allen)… Well, actually… she’s probably Tiff. :-).

But, anyway, I really doubt things will get that bad. There may be “drama,” but I’m really hoping it will turn into some kind of “comic” drama that we can laugh about in the end.

Talk about “dress,” I just realized when I saw it… Quill is not in a “bow tie,” which I though was “standard” for Formal Tux wear. Gunther is, however. I also think the coloring might be off since Gunth’s tie and cummerbund should be purple.

The few times in life I ever wore a Tux, I didn’t wear a cummerbund. Mine had a fake vest.

But I always wore the bow tie.

I hope it will be a night to never forget, both for the characters and the readers of the strip. It does not matter to me what happens, as long as something of historical (in the Luann Universe) significance occurs!

Although it might be too grim for the comic page, having a character killed off in a drunken driving incident would actually mirror the “real world.”

something is going to happen and if it is something awful i will be really pissed off. i haven’t read this long enough to know if that happens occasionally. i am in no mood for a funky winkerbean type comic.

Would Greg Evans… no, he wouldn’t. A school shooting?Why not, he changed the strip to a soap opera years ago. It’s always been about them going through school and growing up together. Now, they’re graduating and going their several ways… It’s time to end it.

My wife and I are always tickled by his show. When we get the chance, we’ll check his DVDs out from the library, too. He can probably make just about anyone have a better day…. – No need for a pep talk, just tell someone to turn his show on… – Can you believe that man actually taught himself to paint like that? And then he went around and taught others ?…And I love the fact that he appreciates nature. It always tickles me when he shows clips of that “pocket squirrel” that he hand raised…

Here’s a tricky one. It has no meter or rhythm.

Rosa’s gown is far more creative and prettier that Lu’s; I wonder if Gunther made it.

Or maybe Bernice and Delta will be in a wreck as they speed away from feeding the poor family, and so Luann and Quill will spend the evening in the hospital waiting room while they await for news abour their friends in the E.R.

Anyway, we have to finish out this week with 2 more days or “this is the biggest moment in our lives” strips, so that everything can collapse next week.
