Very sad this is my favorite comic strip.

This sounds like they are heading out to join Brenda Starr at the Old Comics Home. Wonder if the web page will just go back to the beginning of the series – Like For Better or Worse – and repeat everything – or if there will be new episodes. Looks like regular readers are going to miss the wedding!

I love Claire! How can they end this strip? …there is so much left unsaid. Of all the strips I follow, Claire was my favorite…by far! Bummer!

Oh no, I’m really sad, reading this was one of the highlights of my morning, I’ll miss it. Good luck if this is really the end.

sadly, the death of newspapers, (And journalism in general) had to lead to the death of all things newspaperish, like the comics. Pity, but I am sure the iPhone generation will hardly notice.

I love On a Claire Day! I especially love the dog and cats’ antics. I don’t have a smartphone, so how do I read it when new strips appear online? Where do I go?

We’re not sure what Gocomics will do. Maybe they’ll keep it up? Not sure….

But I don’t think they even have the early stuff back to 06, so at least everything will be on comikka.com.

Well, just bummed me for the weekend! I didn’t see this coming.

Well, you DID give us warning. I hope to continue checking in with the classics (not Brenda Star or Mary Worth-not to my liking ever) but more like Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbs, Cul de Sac, Fat Cats . . . and others who just decided to retire or . . .

I will never be tired of finding the ridiculous and sublime in everything around me (and commenting on my own adventures and foibles such as they are especially if I think someone might be slightly shocked.

Well, that explains the sudden get together a day or two ago.

I have no smart phone (still use my land line mostly and a cell that I just buy packages of minutes -about $50/year).

I used to be on the cutting edge of gadgets when I had a good salary in engineering and I may eventually get a smart phone (or comikka.com might show up on a normal PC if I’m lucky – have not tried yet).

OK- I can see the original strips I remember (from when Claire first started her apartment – does NOT seem long ago). The site only shows 1 panel at a time (and borders change, so I can’t always click exactly the same place) but it’s not bad (and 1 panel would be fine on a tiny phone screen).

Good bye Claire and Paul! It’s been a great adventure. Your pets too. Good bye too. The Comic Minister says farewell to “On a Claire Day”.

I guess I should have seen it coming. We read OACD on-line because our local paper dropped 2/3rds of the comics (including Claire) a while back.

Whoa, I only found this strip a few months ago. Glad Carla commented. While I totally understand about the newspaper business, the end seems so abrupt.

I’m so sad to see this strip go! I’m about the same age and in similar life situations as Claire and it’s been wonderful reading about things I deal with presented with such humor and wisdom. Thank you for the past 8 years! When I found the strip about 6 years ago, I actually went back and read all the archived strips on goComics so I would be all caught up. I really have loved reading this every day and I’ll definitely miss it. Hopefully, I’ll see Claire and Paul pop back up on my daily goComics list someday.

I really enjoyed this strip. I only found it about 2010; I really wish I’d found it sooner. I’m going to miss Claire and the dogs and Lulu of course. This is a very sad day.

Bummer. I was looking forward to the wedding, the italian soap opera downstairs, the friends, etc. Never read it on newspaper always on go comics, and even before on comics.com. comika.net does not work on a pc or a mac properly. sad, sad day.

It’s incredibly sad to see this ended. Looking back at this comic, there are sweet moments, funny moments and a generally positive outlook. Really love the artstyle because its simplicity is very elegant and cute.

According to Wikipedia, there is supposed to be an animated feature from this comic. Are there still plans for that, or is it cancelled silently? I would like to see how an animated Claire (and friends) feature plays out.
