Toni: I trust you. Woman: Ah! Mr. DeGroot! I've met your wedding planner. Brad: Tj? Tj: your best man's gotcha covered! Woman: So you say you're providing fireworks? Brad: What?! TJ: Yup. I know an expert...
“Errands”, huh? Yeah….I thought so- err, I mean, thought not……. – It makes sense that the only thing to pull him away from his treasured task of knocking holes in walls had to be his… other…specialty…. – Well, guess it was either him, or Captain Kirk…..or that little gnome guy in the other reservation commercials- nobody talks a deal down, better than those three…
“Succor Punch”“Leave It To An Eager Beaver”“Smooth As Bilk”“Flim At 4 And 11”“The March Of The Flam-Basters”“Greased Palm Is The Word…” (♪)“Ready…Aim…Fireworks” “I Barely Get By, With A Little Help From My Friends” (♪)“Brad’s Got Reservations”“Trouble With A Capital T….And A J” (♪)“Do The Hustle” (♫)“Got A Nickel, Cad?”“Insecure Credit”or“Good Help Is Hard To Mind”
I thought that she was the wedding planner. This has got to be a nightmare. How did TJ beat you there? Who is supervising Shannon doing demolition? This can’t be right. Just a little teaser to keep us going until Monday, eh Greg?
Brad made an appointment with a wedding planner. How did he happen to not know that this ‘wedding planner’ is the same guy who is supposedly cooking their multi-course meal (because, as he told Brad, you have to go all out on a wedding) AND serving as best man?
Whoa! Well played, Greg and Karen Evans! A perfect punctuation mark to this arc’s sinuous storyline, assuming that the arc stops for now on this end-gag.

> Speaking of vows, what ought to be the vows of Bradley and Antonia?>They should both vow to move far, far away from TJ. This marriage will get off to a terrible start if they move into the same house with him, as is their current plan.^^The ONLY post that you made yesterday, that I agree with, the rest were bull!
And the distinctive common denominator that pops up in all the dialogue when TJ is the subject, between the two most infamous incidents in “A” and “C”…. –
Seems like when TJ isn’t running the Explosion for the Degroots he’s remodeling and planning a wedding for Brad. He serves no other purpose but to do stuff for this family and prevent new characters from existing
Greg and Karen are showing us that the classic roles are often common even if who fills them can vary. The groom can be more detail oriented about the wedding than the bride. The buttinski “family” member can be a self-appointed “brother”. I have to agree with them.
But Sally, You HAVE Pointed Out one MORE Point to the “What have Brad and Toni got in *Common?” Crowd.
What DO They Have on Common? Well, In Addition to,
A) Their Mutual LOVE of Cars,B) Their Mutual LOVE of Naughty Jokes,C) Their Mutual LOVE of Fire Fighting,You can add,D) They are BOTH Easily Manipulated By Others….,
TJ knows an expert, huh? Would it be the same expert that might have guided the destruction of his food truck? If so, might the further involvement of this expert serve to be the mechanism that eventually removes TJ from the strip via a long jail term?
Also, for some time, TJ managed to have lots of money without apparently needing to work:If he were a “lovable loser,” he wouldn’t have been in that situation.
If, come Monday they’re going on about the wedding I’m going to scream.. It’’s already been three weeks of this. Just drop it and move on to something Luann is doing.
Brad… put your freaking foot down and tell that lady that she is not to make arrangements with anyone but you… or else you will cancel the reservation entirely…………..On second thought, I think you should cancel it right now and make an alternative arrangement that TJ won’t know about.
3I tend to think this is a joke by TJ, and I also HOPE it is a joke by TJ, an I hope this is just a “rim shot” sort of end to this arc. I hope, come Monday, we have moved to a Pitt CC arc or a Moony U arc. I have enjoyed this arc, but I think this is a fitting end to it for a while.
This is getting silly. it would have been a much nicer and cleaner break if they had actually married in front of a judge. That would have been too easy. Greg seems to like the messy details in a relationship. Brad passed the test for being willing to cast aside his wedding dreams for Toni. But can he handle the middle ground, i.e. plan a simple tasteful wedding? Sometimes it is easier to go cold turkey than to deal with moderation. This may be the bigger test for Brad.
Here is the TJ HISTORYGreg EvansComic/Cartoon:LuannViewable Date:2009-03-20Pub. Date:2009-03-20Image Number:30940Caption:…After my dad got out of jail, he set up a bank account for me. Then he split to Argentina. I’ve never found him. My mom got sick, and I helped her go back home to Italy. She died 4 years ago. You’ve had a tough life, TJ. Oh, I dunno. Money, freedom, travel…But no family. Well, there’s this one I’ve glommed onto.
Potential results:1) Brad learns to defend “his” family against TJ.2) Toni learns that Brad is not “safe” as she had thought if he will not stand up to TJ for her.3) TJ is just playing with Brad, trying to teach him that he must develop some -cajones-… uh… backbone.

TJ gets bum rap. That guy would give the shirt off his back in a blizzard for Brad. A friend like him is not easy to find.

The wedding, the marriage, and the strip itself are all about to go Ka-Blooie!!!

I see this as a good sign. After his previous experiences involving fire, he’s realized that it’s better to hire a professional.
sueb1863 about 8 years ago
Shouldn’t he be remodeling the house?
Anyway, haul that fraud’s butt out of that chair. Brad knows that Toni will hate whatever TJ comes up with.
And TJ “knows a guy” who does fireworks? Forget it, we want people to survive the wedding.

In the beginning of the Brad/Toni relationship I ½ expected TJ to make a move on Toni. Not disappointed that it didn’t happen, tho.
