what a gloat Tiffany is.. and she’ll never stop on everything to tick Luann off

Maybe Luann is catching on that Tiffany likes to exaggerate.

(By the way, there have been some weird posts here recently. I’m going to try to avoid responding to them.)

At least Luann had a good time.

Interesting, and I will leave it at that for now. I will say Jack is proving to be something far more than a knuckle-dragger as some negatively perceived. He still is able to charm two different young women and that is something, which leaves grist for the future comic Luannverse mill.

Tiff sure looks all rested up and full of piss and vinegar for someone who just tripped the clock. Maybe it is something one of the band members gave her.

I’m pretty sure that Luann’s account is truthful. But I doubt that anything Tiff said is. I wonder what really happened.

Sooooo, “Caveman Jack” Clubbed Tiff. Well, sounds like that Date went rather well, for a "Caveman, that is.

And….., Heeeeeeeey, WAIT a Sec. Tiff just said “Good Night.” So what are Luann and Bern doing sitting In Tiff’s room??

Tiff – the Actress. She seems more interested in besting Luann than having a boyfriend. Luann is back to square one – deciding whether she is interested enough in Jack to start sending stronger signals.

I rather doubt that Tiff’s going to get into a long relationship with Jack. She just had a club date with him and had some fun. She may eventually find a better guy.

As for Luann — I don’t think she has any current interest in any guy in this strip — past or present. That includes Quill, Gunther, and Jack, to say the least. She had long stated that she was comfortable without a guy in her life — at least for the time being — ever since her breakup with Quill. Of course, since Quill was the best of the best, most other guys would be anticlimactic. But the only reason that she’s now stewing about her dating life is that Tiff is giving her a hard time.

Some may think Tiff is doing Luann a disservice, but she may actually be doing her a favor. She’s keeping Luann from just sweeping the issue of her love life under the rug, and making her think more actively about her future. By sweating it under some pressure, Luann may manage to sort out and clarify some of her life purposes.

IF what Tiffany says is true, then Jack certainly has the benefit having a quiet friend for mellowing out and a party girl for when he wants to cut loose.

Tiffany is probably making most of that up.

And these people are in college, don’t you think they would have felt free to actually say “Oh, my God”? Or even “Omigod”? The childish “ohmgaw” looks so outdated, like a remnant from the days when you couldn’t swear in newspapers. If Tiffany is out partying and drinking, you’d think she’d feel adult enough to legitimately swear.

And still no solution to the mystery of the stolen TV…

Tiffany is a storyteller. Partial truths.

Someone needs to get back on their meds. Multiple personality disorder is a sad and dangerous ailment.

Tiffany is a pit viper. Strikes, deposits her poison, and leaves. I think Luann’s last comment shows she realizes this and she probably knows Tiff is exaggerating.

I could envision both scenarios that Luann and Tiffany talk about regarding their dates as being accurate and true, even though there is a possibility that Tiffany’s event may be being exaggerated by her to further goad Luann.

An interesting subtext is, to me, in Luann’s comment at the end….. she likes “her [Jack] better than [Tiffany’s version of Jack].” Is this because Luann a) has no interest in going clubbing and hanging out with a band and “partying”, or b) is it because she is just annoyed that Tiffany is experiencing that side of Jack, or c) is it just to “save face”, or d) is it that she is now annoyed at both Tiffany AND Jack?

Why do I not believe a word Tiffany says?

You expected different? Jack sounds like the ideal chick dream man. A hunky Jock taking an Art class! Quiet and sensitive, yet with a wild side. Just what the chicks go for. And that curl on his forehead is the lure that draws them in! :o)

As an aside. Luann and Tiff will probably wind up as best friends later in life. After the estrogen wars.

Both women had a good time with Jack, they can both keep seeing him. Turns out great for everyone as long as Jack has the energy.

I think Tiff is telling the truth. Jack was going to see Luann after he saw Tiff, so he could very well talk about his evening with Tiff to Luann. He and Luann are just friends so there is nothing wrong with him talking about his date with Tiff.

Jack is pretty smart, he figured out what kind of date each woman would enjoy and provided them with that. He is no dumb jock.

Luann’s comment should be, “He didn’t even mention what appears to be the highlight of your week. So I guess it wasn’t the highlight of his.”

OK… so will Tiffany get a 2nd date and maybe a boyfriend? If history (and her perspective) has anything to offer, she has lots of ‘one timers’ but no long term relationship. Hopefully we’re wrong this time. Hey, then Piro is freed up for whomever..

Doesn’t sound like Jack mentioned his clubbing with Tiffany and doesn’t sound like Luann asked him anything about it.

I think Jack is both a party animal and a good guy who can adapt to the girl he is with. Most players are.

I am rather suspicious of what Tiffany says. She has a reputation she has made and must keep it. All talk.

I thought it sounded like Jack went to the club with Tiffany, then a day or 2 later he went to the park with Luann? Now I don’t get why it sounds like Luann & Jack went to dog park first, then he went clubbing because now it seems Tiffany just got back from clubbing. (???)

Sooooo…now he’s not such a bad guy? Still don’t think he’s a “forever guy”. Seems more of the “sow his wild oats” kind of guy.

How do you all keep track of someone replying to a reply you posted? This is so hard to remember where your post are hidden.

May 22, 1986 has the first picture of Gunther and (Knute?) I am still going thru the oldies but goodies :)

Jack has a mellow side and a wild side, depending on who he is with, unless Tiff is just blowing more hot air.

Jack seems to have had the best of both worlds, though I do not doubt that Tiff is exaggerating for effect.

Bottom line is, everyone is satisfied: Luann; Tiffany (if we believe her); Jack….

Net advance of Luann story-scape: zero….

For Luann to show growth (greater maturity) she needs to stop letting Tiff bother her so much. The half lidded eyes in the last panel suggests that she is still trying to compete (i.e. in the dating arena) and is annoyed by Tiffany’s remarks. If Luann was more confident and self assured, she could say something like “hey that’s great Tiffster… next time I see Jack in class I’ll suggest that he take you out some more, so that the two of you can develop a relationship…” That would actually put Tiffany off; it would disarm her. Tiffany wants to annoy and get a rise out of Luann who is giving her exactly what she craves. Luann should realize this by now (after all these years).

I can almost guarantee you Tiff is lying – Jack probably dropped her off early.

I’m still confident that Gunther and Tiffany will try a relationship.

The real question is which one does Jack like better. In this comic strip, it’s always Luann.

I think it would have been REALLY interesting if Luann had been unable to make that “date” if she had been working usher duties at The Fuse and had seen Jack and Tiffany there.

But then, I don’t write for Team Evans

Maybe Tiffany and Jack just had a ‘normal’ enjoyable time together talking and connecting. But for Tiffany that doesn’t make a very good story; it doesn’t create the kind of image that she wants for herself. I hope the two of them will be come close friends.

nah… I can see Jack & Tiffany having a great time partying all night, then the next day he – all hungover and lack of sleep – goes to the dog park with Luann… so sure, he is gentle & mellow: he felt like c$&^p ! haha

Watching “The Voice” tonight – they started “the package” for a contestant named Sammie – and my first thought, even before she mentioned that she’s gay, was “OMG it’s Pru!” Something about her mannerisms and facial expressions. Her voice, though, is somehow not what I imagined for Pru’s voice. Deeper and smokier, I think.
