(We used to catch hundreds of pounds of catfish every year on the Suwannee River when I was growing up. I didn’t eat any until I was 22. Our neighbors appreciated all we gave them, though.)

If you have to measure fun by the cost, best to forget it. The memories won’t be worth it.

If you think that the purpose of fishing is to catch fish, you are missing the point.

As a child and teen I used to go fishing with my dad a lot. I can’t recall any of the conversations that we had. But I do remember the experiences fondly.

Buy your own boat, and you can easily get the up to a grand a pound.

Funny thing, but having grown up with fishing for the table I just don’t understand why people go “sport fishing.”

Husband gives me a hard time about my sewing. “You could buy something like that for ten bucks”! I shut him up with “and how much do you spend per fish, and then you throw them back”! We enjoy our hobbies.
