YAY! A new Tiffany Arc!

Business is boomin’, and Tiff’s a gloomin’

I guess Tiff could always watch Mr. Rogers, Clifford The Big Red Dog, Barney, or Teletubbies.

I was thinking it was time for a Tiffany story since Bets and Bernice have had recent stories and of course Luann never gets a story.

Yippee! My favorite blond bombshell is back and so is Daddy Tom. I have high hopes for this arc.

This just might be a good arc.

Things at home are just booming, huh/ Tiffany can barely light the fuse.

Booming at home sounds like a cause to worry and an admonition against unsupervised parties. All’s quiet on the home front would be more reassuring.

Hopefully this will not turn into a “Risky Business” arc.

It should be so easy for her to get a good boyfriend.

Any sound in an empty house is booming. And it sounds lonely to the person stuck there by herself.

I wonder whether Tiffany has told her dad anything about TTFT and/or the Pagoda of Peace.

I think GnK moving Tiffany out of the dorms and into her own home is tyrning out to be a very fruitful move. Aloha Kip, Stefani Bird, the other Hall A denizens and Blacklight Bingo (or whatever that was)!

Okay.So since Tom has just admitted things are a-booming again, and he’s spending money as though he were a city government with unlimited access to taxpayer money, does that mean that Tiffany’s lavish expense accounts and credit cards have been restored? And if that’s the case, will Tiffany move back into her private dorm when college starts again in the Fall?

Hey Tiff? Here’s a suggestion. Since “Daddy Big-Bucks” is partying again with money to burn, why don’t you help yourself to some of that cash, grab Bets, and take a “business trip” to Paris, with a visit to Souffle Lingerie?

It would be a great way to start a new business plan, strengthen contacts and maybe even get another “A” on a class paper.

More importantly, it’ll get Bets away from Gunther and give the poor sap time to ponder what just what the heck he’s got himself into. :)

PS: “Back to Back Parties, Dinner, and Golf,” for Poppa Farrell. I’m beginning to think that Tom’s former “money problems” weren’t totally all Ann Eiffel’s "fault.

Thank God the Luann/Shannon arc is over. Wonder if we will see a new hairstyle on Luann the next time we see her? And this arc? Cryptic.

Tiffany, go to a spa and get yourself a new makeover. Then take yourself out to lunch and a movie. Make your own fun.

He’s not only dumb (the Ann Eifell situation) he’s a blowhard. Golly, I can’t imagine why he’s still single.

Abandonment by or loss of parents is kind of a dark underbelly of this strip==there is Tiffany by Tom Farrell, Les by his mom, Evil Ann Eiffel, Shannon by Jonah, TJ by his dad, Bernice’s brother being given up by their parents to world-hopping alternative lifestyle adoptive parents, leaving Bernice traumatically estranged from him—for a time—even Tara, whose situation involves absent parents, and a psychopathic older cousin; have I forgotten anyone? Oh Toni herself,, with her brother Jonah, who had a tragic parental loss, affecting her it can be argued in terms of wanting a family with Brad. Only Luann and Brad actually have loving, stable parents. Oh Ox, but I mean main characters. Gunther has his mom, unfailingly optimistic, and cheerful and smothering to Gun, after a possibly horrible experience with his unknown father, which she resolutely never allows enter her experience. I know I always say “hilarity ensues” and I don’t know where this arc will go, but the symbolism of abandoned Tiff, in a huge mansion alone from her dad, who is gallivanting with his parties, and tennis, globally, with a booming business is kind of foreboding if you ask me.

Tiffany’s dad really doesn’t care much for his daughter,does he? Otherwise he’d spend more time with her-or at least SPENT more time with her in years past.

A word, Tiffany. Lock up the place and no parties. You have friends like Tara who would steal anything that she could get Bets to sell on line.

In the March 24 strip, Bets wanted to attend an Anime-Manga event in Tokyo, and Tiffany wanted to attend a Haute Couture show in Paris.

Moving from Tokyo to Paris? Is this any coincidence that the Tokyo Olympics closed yesterday and now the Paris mayor is bringing the Olympic flag to Paris this week?

Tiffany’s life continues to be too centered on her father. That big mansion so dark and void of life looks so sad… I can’t wait for her to go back to college, in her little room with her roommate. Or maybe she has organized something with her friends for the summer? If Tiffany will be the one able to help Luann to find a major, that would be pretty awesome!

Well… being alone still beats having Eiffel around, at least.

Nice to see Covid-19 has had no effect whatsoever on Pittsville and its residents. And its always nice to have Tiff back! :D

Lotta perks go along with that “boomin” business. Guess they use the brick n mortar office just to sign documents and show the other employees they really do exist.

So I guess we’re gonna be hating on Tiffany this week because Greg Evans had nightmares about the blonde cheerleader who turned him down in high school again aren’t we?

So now we know Tiff’s Dad is actually the President of the Olympic Committee!

This may be the most complete look we’ve ever had at Tiffany’s dad’s face. Huh. He resembles Tom Cruise a bit.

My Uncle Morty and Aunt Flo were especially vexed by today’s new arc.

At the breakfast table, still recovering from last week’s Shannon debacle, Uncle Morty got so worked up his bottom sweated and he slipped off his chair, falling on their cat, Mr. Pickles.

These terrible story arcs have to stop! They are destroying my daily breakfast of scrapple and nachos!

Also, what does Tif’s dad do again? I thought he was an attorney, and not the international type. Arms dealer seems more the bill.

Late at night a big old house gets lonely…

Poor Tiffany. She must feel so lonely. No friends, no family, no husband, no children, no mommy to make it go away. It must be a pretty sad life.

Usually don’t comment on the art, but to me the use of perspective to show the size of the house and the loneliness of Tiffany’s emptiness, inside and out, is really quite good. If she voices back I will try to see if there is a bit different perspective of Farrell Manor.

Working so hard for all that money, with a cost that no check can cover.

He sure is detached from his daughter. Poor little rich girl. Wonder if she’ll tell him about her business ideas, or even mention how lonely she feels. Wonder if he really cares enough to come home.

I had a job like that, 70 hr weeks, gone all the time. I’ve got two ex-wives and a son I haven’t talked to in over a decade to prove it. Sometimes we learn our lessons too late.

Sounds like me and my husband. Off to 3 different conferences in the next month.

If Dad was staying there for a while, Tiffany cold go there and open a pop-up restaurant, which would fail because she doesn’t have enough experience.

From Tokyo to Paris… Just like the Olympic Games, only sooner.

Tiffany, Gunther, and Bernice should get their own spinoff comics so that Luann can be cancelled. Even Mary Tyler Moore Show came to an end with spinoffs for Phyllis, Lou Grant, and Rhoda.

Methinks it’s time for Tiff to go to Paris.

I think they’re getting her set up to go back to the dorm, resuming the Hall A/Kip-Stef storylines that have de facto been interrupted by COVID.

It’s hard to avoid getting the message that things “at home” are tough for Tiff ’cause her Dad is driven to success in business through neglecting his daughter….

I can sympathize a little bit with Tiffany. But she is 19 or 20 years old and has money and transportation. (Not to mention good looks.) As someone above mentioned, she should be able to make her own fun. If, at that age, if I had relied on either of my parents to keep me entertained, they would have considered that weird. (So would I). I had very little money, no transportation, and mediocre looks. But I went to college activities, made friends with the people in the dorm and outside the dorm. The town I lived in was small, but there were things to do. (Pitts is not a big city, either.) I agree that it would be better for Tiffany still to live in the dorm rather than in an empty house. But she isn’t obligated to stay there and hide in the shadows. I’ll wait and see what interesting things Greg and Karen think up for this storyline, but in the meantime, I’m having a bit of a problem believing in a “poor little rich girl” scenario.
