How in the world do you whistle words? I have tried a few times and I cannot get my whistle to sound out “Puddles”.

Off, off leash.

It was nice knowing you, Puddles.

Two days to wrap ths up — or another week as Luann and Jack chase Puddles across town to the animal control (kill) shelter.

I don’t get it; Puddles broke in, or broke out? Any way, Puddles is “chipped”, right ?

There’s an interesting juxtaposition between last week, where Shannon proved to be a better shepherd to Puddles and this week where Jack is the first to notice Puddle’s absence. Last week was played off as a gag with Luann overreacting and Shannon remaining calm. This week does not have the “feel” of another gag series. Then what is the objective or lesson to be learned?

Poor Puddles…hope he enjoys the animal shelter!

I know Puddles is a character in the comics, but I am still anxious about his safety.

Is she going to come up with more ludicrous words? Because that would be roadside!

Hmm. The fence seems to have turned inside out between yesterday and today.

I hope Puddles is chipped.

Like Tyge said above, Shannon was a better keeper of the dog.

Don’t know how else to put it.

It’s as if G&K want us to hate Luann.

Puddles was chowing down last we saw him.

I’d love to tell Ya what I thought when I first saw that (AHEM) “word.”

I will say that there’s gonna be a real Snit Storm if they don’t find that pooch. ;-)

He is on the other side of that fence opening as you would see if you go back to 2/23/2022 strip.

Something about Luann’s posture in the last panel doesn’t look natural . . . I’m just going to assume she’s standing there with her arms sticking out in a “what just happened” expression, and that it just looks off because of the angle she’s drawn.

Well, just as I thought. The powerful aroma of food lying on the ground was so powerful that Puddles just had to crawl underneath the fence and tug at his collar to break free. Sadly, nobody was paying attention. Let’s hope Puddles is still busily eating whatever is in the container when Jack and Luann come upon him.

No, No,No but wait. I don’t think it will be another Farley situation and something else will be the literal point, but let’s see.

By now puddles is a pound puppy

She keeps using that word “stressgasm.”

Is Puddles micro-chiped?

Looks like the ACME fence company forgot to install the “tension wire” at the bottom of the fence. A “bottom rail” on the fence would have been nice as well.

Not good.

Looks like Jack has managed to lose his dog as well.

I love the way Luann wants to avoid being worried, but then follows Jack in the search saying nothing. She knows that he’s right and Jack is not arguing to convince her, he just proposes what to do to her and then goes knowing that she will follow him. They understand each other very well♡. Now, Luann will start panicking and having Jack next to her will help a lot, because he’s able to calm her down. Let’s hope Puddles isn’t in danger.

Uh-oh…. Brad probably won’t even believe her this time.

After Puddles is found by the police, will Luann be arrested for neglect?

If so, betcha THEN she’ll have a “stressgasm”!!

I wonder if Puddles will be found by a pedophile who will use him to lure unsuspecting kids into his car.

The Degroots should give Puddles to Shannon.

She and TJ would be better caregivers than Luann.

Relax, he just went to live on a farm.

I guess G&K didn’t want to highlight Puddles’ collar until today. But if you caught it yesterday, consider it an Easter egg.

Now that Puddles has finished little snack, he has time and space to go explore.

So we’re really gonna do 2 weeks of Puddles getting away, even when he didn’t?

Forget the dog. I want to see her have a stressgasm. Multiple ones!!!

How big is that park? The ones I’ve been in are pretty cleared out. You can see the whole thing with a quick scan.

Looks like they actually went in the same direction. Unless one saw this first and called the other over.

Jack’s nose is a bit high – in the last panel it looks like an outgrowth from his forehead.

It looks like Puddles may well be doomed.

He’s too fat to have run very far. They’ll find him in no time.

BradF—I think they went in opposite directions on the outside of the fence and met at that spot after ten minutes.

She’s used “stressgasm” again! C’mon, Greg (or Karen), stop it. Unless we’re going to find out that, thanks to Jack, Luann’s going to learn about the real thing.

Really enjoying Luann and Jacks comfort with each other this week.

He’s back inside the fence, sleeping off the Big Mac with Max! (If last week is any indication.)

Dog gone, doggone.

Oh Luann (panel 1) why is it always about you…even now when it shouldn’t be? and why are you looking so puzzled (panel 2) at the thought of actually solving the problem…..i.e like finding Puddles.

Puddles is on T.V. and he’s wearing Lederhosen.

It’s the don’t cry wolf saga all over again.

Hmmmm … two days to find the pup. Hope all goes well … !

Seems Luann is all about her and her feelings and inconvenience. Puddles has been with her forever and she’s more concerned about herself than finding him? Would things be different if Jack wasn’t there? It’s nice Puddles is featured this week, but it sure doesn’t put Luann in a good, caring light. Will she try to squeeze through that hole? Maybe Puddles will rescue her! ;-)

If Jack wasn’t there Luann would have probably have just gone home and figure that her dog would show up sooner or later. That is how shallow she is.

To Greg and Karen Evans – in what universe did you believe this would be a good storyline? Obviously you have never lost a pet. All this does is bring back horrible memories for any of your readers who lost a pet and it ended up getting killed. Even if it ends well, and Puddles survives, it doesn’t make it worth the emotional pain to use this kind of lead-in. You are no better than the cheap movie makers who have to always have the audience wondering when the dog, cat, horse, bird, pig, etc is going to get killed, just for the emotional shock value. I am not going to care one bit how this ends, even if it ends well. You have ruined the ending with the beginning. REALLY BAD ON YOU BOTH!! I thought you were smarter and kinder than this.

I HATE lost dog stories. They never end well. .

Now you can have your snitfuss, dummy! You do realize this is all you own fault, right?

Let’s hope Animal Control took Puddles to a No Kill shelter….
