It’s official.. Puddles likes being a Dorm Dog better than being Luann’s Dog.

Apparently Tiffany’s high school encounter with Puddles is down the Memory Hole. Does that left Gunther or has he forgotten Luann’s dog as well? Canwe be sure that Luann hasn’t forgotten her pet? It has been a couple hours in Luanntime.

I still can’t believe Tiff doesn’t recognize Puddles. Has she never seen him before in all these years?

Tiff is “touched”.

I don’t enjoy this suspense. I have worked at a rescue for decades and I read Luann to offset stress. I rather see people hash stuff out – just don’t involve the pets! :)

Tiffany hasn’t actually seen Puddles yet. But Puddles remembers her as he places his paw on her hand and he licks her arm. Tiffany hasn’t turned around to look at Puddles yet. And when she does…

Son in law fought for years with wife and four kids about getting a dog. ‘Tuther day he was telling us how “Marty” was sleeping next to him, whimpering and jerking his hind legs as if running while dreaming. Dog the size of a house cat while SIL is 6’6" and 275lbs. Classic David vs Goliath story.

No one recognizes this potato. Maybe Luann doesn’t anymore, either!

I have seen many dogs that look alike. For example, if you see one random Beagle, you seen ‘em all. Unless it is yours.

Tiff has seen Puddles before.

Maybe someone will see the “lost dog” notice the gals posted on the bulletin board. Gunther, Bernice, an RA who might check up on the posters re: the whereabouts of the dog? I still think Tiff’s going to blab about the dog at the Fuse, and either Nancy will hear or TJ or Les will mention it to Brad or Gunther, respectively. So many ways they can get busted. That’s assuming Puddles never draws attention by barking, running into the hall, other students seeing him, etc.

What’s disturbing to me is that with three days left to the week this story does not seem to be wrapping up. There has been no recognition of Puddles, no movement to taking it back to Luann, no time left for reunion and rejoicing. So it looks like we’re in for another week of this dreary, dreadful dognaping..

If Puddles were a litter-trained cat they’d have a better chance of hiding him in their room. What are they going to do for Puddles’ potty times? Clean up after him multiple times a day? Take him out and get busted? This scheme should break down in half a day.

The storyline arc is going to stretch into extra weeks?

Maybe a surprise visit by Bernice? Desdemona was a roommate.

Puddles, you sly old dog! Using the ‘pee on the floor’ ruse to get Tiff down in that position!

The next 9 panels will have faded to black.

Puddle seems to be familiar with Tiff’s scent, perhaps used to smell it on Luann’s clothes for many years.

Tiff seems to have recognized Pudlle, or at least feel inexplicably and oddly familiar with Puddle.

He knows.

AND, SHE KNOWS !

Is Pud licking Tiff’s hand to make up for making a mess or does he remember Tiff and is saying hi? At least Pud isn’t out in the street cold and scared. Don’t know if he is hungry since no one has fed him yet.

Welly, Well, WELL.

So much for Tiffany “recognizing” Puddles.

But that’s not the issue.

We live in a day time where some dogs in the real world travel thousand of miles on their own volition to be reunited with their owners.

But not old Pud. He seems perfectly happy or completely oblivious, to live with strangers. So much for his loyalty.

And maybe Pud has forgotten Tiffany too, because the last time he was that close to Tiffany he was tearing a sleeve off her clothing.

Looks like Tiff ain’t gonna be much help. Plus I don’t think that Puddles will be a “secret” at the dorm much longer. And considering his penchant for getting free, the “wrong” person is liable to spot him in the hallway and it’s off to the pound with him.

Somebody, ANYBODY, that knows him had better spot him PDQ.

Unless they too, have “amnesia.”

Maybe one of them will see their way to the Puddles to the dog park at which Jack seems to spend a lot of time.

No matter what, Puddles is winning them all over. Tiffany should get a mop, though.

Isn’t it time for Tiff to recognize Puddles as Luann’s dog?

I forsee a court battle regarding ownership of the pet.

I don’t know enough about Tiff’s history with Puddles to know if it’s understandable she’d forget him. But I am sure of 1 thing: that white cloth Tiff is using to clean up the pee is probably not an article of Stef’s clothing. You had 1 job, Tiff.

Looks like Puddles remembers Tiffany.

I’m really not sure, but I’m hoping we’re gonna have one of those dawning … “Hey! Waint a minute! This is LUANN’s dog!” … moments here in the next day or so. Hope so, anyway.

Puddles is just an adorable sly dog, he knows how to make others loves him ♡. Probably now Tiffany will convince herself that she’s the only one able to take care of the dog and she will become very fond of him. Meanwhile, Luann is crying thinking that her dog may be dead. This story just keeps getting better and better!

I would have thought Tiff would recognize him.

Puddles is quickly adapting to his new setting.

Pudd probably likes the attention that he never gets at home.

Puddles needs a piddle-puddle box!

This is the longest time that I’ve seen puddles shown in an arc that he wasn’t sleeping.

It’s odd that Greg has given Puddles his own major arc ans Luann is still in the doldrums.

A whole lot more attention!

That right, Puddles. Any creature that likes Tiffany, can’t be all bad.

Since we are to believe that none of these characters recognize Puddles, this arc will go on for some time. Greg is enamored with the dog park. Perhaps one of the girls will take him there where someone will recognize him or Puds will recognize them. It would be Tiff or Stef encountering Jack or Luann. The combination of possible encounters and story arcs are interesting.

Jeepers creepers! What a bunch of knuckleheads we all are! lol

We’ve overlooked the most obvious answer of all.

They’re rebooting the strip as “Dorm Life with…Stef and Friends!”, and Puddles is the only character from the deGroots that they’re keeping.

There IS no ‘Luann’ anymore! duh.

I hae never had a dog behave like this. When I am not visible, they are not friendly. They are mopey until they get used to the people which can take from 3 to 7 days, not hours. I have been told that my dog has stayed at the door I left for as much as four days before eating again (He did leave to drink and then return to the door).

Puddles seems to be “Luann who?”

Puddles thinks to himself – “Tastes like Chicken.”

and just like that, Everyone forgot it was someone else’s dog.

Uncomfortable story line. Leave Puddles alone at home.

I’m trying to figure out the end game of this arc. It’s too simplistic that Puddles got lost and then got found by people who know Luann or know her friends so that inevitably he will be returned home. I’m thinking this is to generate some other interpersonal event.

Where’s his useless owner?

If this doesn’t end with Luann beating the snot out of Steffi, I don’t want it.

Big mistake on Tiff’s part. It’s Stef’s room as well as Tiff’s, so Tiff should have just told he: “Hey, you brought the dog in, you clean up after it!”

But now Tiff will be expected to do everything connected with dog care. The others will pet him, but that’s about it.

A lengthy story that should have been shorter?

This arc is going in a way unexpected, but I think Puddles will somehow get home, but expect further surprises along the way. The hate, unjustified, on Luann continues apace I see.

This all ends the first time Gunther comes over.

For a fun exercise, try and figure out Stef’s proportions under that skirt. Because those have got to be some of the shortest thighs I’ve ever seen.

Okay, this is stupid! Did not Tiffany stay at the DeGroot home for awhile?Are you expecting that none of her friends recognize this dog?Instead of the usual non plausible cliff hangers we have puddles on the floor.It just about sums up this weeks arc.

Shouldn’t Tiffany recognize Puddles?

Puddles is going to realize soon that Luann isn’t there, and then he will mope.

If G&K want to inject some humor into this strip, they should have Kip be violently allergic to Puddles.

Now, THAT would be funny!

Years ago, Tiffany would not have even considered cleaning up the mess as it would’ve been beneath her. Why she’s doing it now is puzzling. Not because Tiffany has grown and matured somewhat since those years/strips, but because she didn’t bring Puddles into the room and he’s not her responsibility, so she shouldn’t have to clean up after him.

Hence his name. Only one possible.

Sources are reporting that this plotline will continue for another month. Get comfortable, folks. Smoke ’em if you got ’em.

I’m guessing/hoping that either 1) Gunther comes over and recognizes Puddles, 2) Dez finally figures out where she knows the dog from, 3) Bernice will have a visit for whatever reason and spot Puddles. I think it’s too much of a stretch to believe that Tiff will somehow remember him, even though it’s one of the most logical solutions…

Women learned “Puppy Dog Eyes” from puppies,not the other way around.

Tiffany works at the Fuse. She will certainly hear about the DeGroots missing dog next time she is at work. Nancy will say something or TJ will mention it. He lives with Brad and he would know that the dog is missing.

Perhaps something will happen in the dorm building that will cause the fire department to show up. All the students are outside because of a fire or gas leak and Brad and Toni show up and see Puddles.

Tomorrow,Beethoven The Saint Bernard walks in and offers Puddles a ride home.

Of course, Tiff doesn’t recognize Puddles, because she’s never, ever, never ever will be in a million years been in Luann’s house.

I have a quick question. A few of the folks posting said that Gunther probably would recognize Puddles when he came to see Betts. Have they been together at all since that blow-up a while back? I don’t think I’ve seen him for a while.

Bern goes to Moony U but not the dorm. Hopefully somebody will describe Puddles to her.

“He’s Fine.” Is Tiff’s way of saying HE isn’t the problem, roomies. I admire Tiff’s restraint, no reason to take dorm frustrations out on the dog. She is acting like a grown up & directing her annoyance properly. Luann, though, needs to keep a better eye on her pet – so far I trust Puddle’s good judgment to befriend Tiff & run from Luann.

How come EVERYONE is at school except for Luann?

Cheerleader Woman (i forget her name) brought the dog in against the rules. Why isn’t Tiff using that to get rid of the hated and unwanted cheerleader once and for all?

This could go on for years with Puddles spreading love and joy as he gets passed from hand to hand.

Besides, he was just trying to tell you his name, by demonstration.

Wow! That was quick. Is Tiffany really so starved for affection that just one paw-tap and a lick from Puddles (she has yet to recognize him, if ever) wins her over instantly?!

I can’t believe how Tiffany has grown. She’s clearly the responsible adult in this group.

And look how Puddles appreciates her cleaning up after him.

I’ve noticed the more Tiffany develops as a person the more her social circle overlaps with Luann’s. Gunther, Bernice, Luann’s mom. Now they even have the dog in common.
