I was so sure that when tiffany said ‘home’ she meant the manse but the gulag? It’s a small cottage with two bedrooms. Where’s Tiffany going to sleep? With Leslie? With Gunther? out the beanbags in the living room? If Gunther couldn’t have have Bets sleep over how will Irma tolerate Tiffany sleeping over?. Puddles, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore!
Remember “folks,” this is the SAME Les Knox who just last year shot his mouth off telling Gunther: “Dude, my Uncle Al didn’t build this place so your girlfriend can mooch off….,”
And the fact that Tiffany is NOT Les’ girlfriend (Thank God) is irrelevant. If Al and Irma objected to Bets staying at the Gulag, then they HAVE to object to Tiffany staying there. Fair is FAIR.
And where would Tiff stay in Gulag anyway? Gunther’s room, that’s where sans-Gunther. (We all know THAT is coming).
SO maybe no Gulag for Tiff.
BUT, it looks like Al and Irma may be about to have a house guest.
By the way, remember this from last year:
https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2021/12/25
What are the odds that We’ll so be treated to a similar dinner scene by this coming Thanksgiving?
Which bedroom will have to be evacuated for her. Or maybe Irma will take her in. She hit it off with the Gray’s at the dinner. https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2017/06/08
Well, where will she sleep? On their bean bag couch? Irma did not allow BETS stay there. Would she let Tiffany stay there? I believe Irma will insist she stay at her house and not with the boys. SHE will take care of her. And I think the quad suite drama is over for this season. The key to the drama there was between Tiff and Stef. Tiff isn’t going back and will return home after a brief stay at the Gulag or with Irma. See ya, Stef and Dez. Maybe Bets once in a while. Wonder if Greg is cutting down on the size of the cast as the larger the cast, the more complicated the plots become, requiring to get creative, etc. Removing a few nonessential characters makes things simpler.
Can someone enlighten me about where Gunther fits into this story arc at all? He certainly played no part in the rescue. Do he and Les room together? Is Tiff proposing to impose on them to care for her during her recovery? Is she setting herself up to demonstrate a continuing shallowness of personality? Is she about to learn the hard way that there are worse things than a fall down a flight of stairs? Where does Ox live; and why wouldn’t Tiff simply engage a live-in caregiver to help her to live at home in the mansion where she would have the peacefulness she seems to want?
Makes sense. Tiff trusts Les enough to split her tips with him, Gunther does care about her, and she knows the living situation. Tiff doesn’t need self help hugs, or the stress of her life choices being broadcast everywhere (& she’s not thrilled with branding herself as a privileged Kardashian type), she needs a support system she can trust.
I hope Irma insists on Tiff staying in the main house, if for no other reason, so that Tiff can get some peace and help. Picture it: Les and Gunther constantly arguing about who will help Tiff the most. Tiff could starve to death while those two idiots fight about whose going to bring her something to eat.
Tiffany said “Les can take me in my car, Ox.” Don’t Les and Tiff still need to ride with Ox to get back to the mansion, where Tiff’s car would presumably be parked? (It doesn’t look like Tiff is about to get a ride back to the mansion in either an ambulance or a police car.)
And when is Tiff going to call her dad so that he can hire a glazier to fix the window, a carpenter to fix the door, and maybe someone to secure the house pending those repairs?
One other thing: When the police checked out the house and didn’t find a burglar, did they look in the bowling alley behind the secret door that Tiffany told the world about on 2022/07/15?
I don’t think Tiff ever lead Ox on. Ox never took the risk of telling Tiff if he had feelings for her. She needed someplace and people she trusted. I’m with the faction that thinks Irma will take Tiff under her wing.
This isn’t going to go well. Les looks ready to take advantage of the situation. I am sure Gunther will step in. I bet Tiffany will be staying in the main house where Gunther’s mother will treat her like an injured little girl.
Well, contrary to most comments here, I think that Tiff is showing more and more maturity. Ox asked if he could take her back to the dorm or home, not his place. She thought of her friend Gunth and creepy Les as a quiet place to hang out and get her sanity back together. She was nice to Ox, thanking him and calling him her, “Hero.” This is not the old Tiff. The old Tiff would have been all over the attention. This Tiff is actually being real, honest, and not leading anyone on. She’s not stroking Ox’s ego to get something. Im proud of her, and am sure her father should be too, for the way she is choosing to act. Like an adult. I’ve enjoyed watching her grow as a person and a friend to those she never would have associated with in the past. I enjoy her disapproval for her alter ego, could have been mirror persona, exemplified by “Shoog.” LOL. She’s growing by leaps, and bounds. One of my fav characters of late.
Yea, this will last long enough for Gunther’s mom to find out a girl is in the house (remember Betts trying to stay there?) and will move her into the main house so she can take care of her.
It’s not possible that Irma and Al will allow Tiffany to remain in Les and Gunther’s lair. She will surely be a guest in their house. Maybe, if the situation will last, Tiffany will become like a daughter to Irma. Poor Ox… he looks so sad and he’s right in being sad. Even as a hero, he’s still just a friend to Tiffany.
Well this development is a patented surprise. Ion the one hand she needs some peace and quiet, but Bets might not approve, especially after Irma and Al agreed (kinda?) that Bets and Gunther could not move together, without marriage, now along comes Tiffany living there. Oh, this should be cool, calm, and will work out well. NOT!!
“…. A crowded room, friends with tired eyes, I’m hiding from you and your soul of ice. My God, I thought you were someone to rely on. Me? I guess I was a shoulder to cry on. A face on a lover with a fire in his heart, a man under cover but you tore me apart. Now I know what a fool I’ve been…”
Tiff says, “Les can take my in my car.” Did she come to the hospital in her car or Ox’s or the ambulance? Will Ox have to drive Les to her mansion to pick up her car and then drive it back to the hospital to pick her up? Odd.
At least she thanked Ox for all his help. And, someone said that she might want to get next to Gunther and maybe this is what’s behinds today’s request.
Irma would give Tiff that nurturing, Healing touch that she could use right about now. Wonder how long it’ll take for Tiff’s father to make an appearance when he hears about what happened. (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)
This is ridiculous. There is no way Tiffany would want to live with a jerk that sexually harassed her in high school! I guess some comics have no memory.
I haven’t read the comments yet, but my bet is she’s going home with Les because of Gunther’s mom. Soon she’ll be ensconced in their guest room, with fluffy pillows, chicken soup etc. I’m a mom, and yes, that’s what I’d do!
Some of the “Tiff doesn’t Ox a thing,” comments I’ve read here in the last few days reminded me of something.
It reminded Me of the time Toni fell off a ladder and Brad risked his and saved her, suffering severe injuries in the process. And afterwards, “Folks” were saying almost the same thing as today: “Well just because Brad saved Toni’s life, and darn near died in the act, doesn’t mean that she owes him anything! Besides, it’s is job!!!” But even at that, at least Toni helped nurse Brad back to health.
Sure, maybe Tiff owes Ox nothing. But there was a time where people had the ability to show some degree of something we used to call “sincere gratitude.” Not anymore. Small wonder We have so many “entitled folks” running around loose in the Country.
Maybe Tiff owes Ox nothing. But on the other hand, Ox doesn’t owe Tiff anything either. Perhaps Ox should remember that the next time Tiff hears a mouse at the manse or needs some heavy furniture moved up three flights of stairs, or needs her heavy front door battered down during a “rescue attempt.”
Irma Grey to Tiff, “No they’re place is much too small for the three of you. You’ll stay in the main house with us.” Then Tiff finds out what a doting mother is.
Sheesh, Tiffany and Ox situation is more like a Hallmark movie every day.Wonder if she’ll ask him to move all those suitcases and boxes into the gulag! Gutsy, if she does.
And where will she put all her “stuff”. Will we see a version of the Odd Couple if Les and Gunther have to room together? Will Bets get involved and vlog the melee? And will someone wash Les’ apron?! §:-o
How does this make any sense? Who is going to give up their bedroom, Les or Gunther? It looks like she is expecting Les to give up his room and “take care of her”. Will Irma invite her into her house, which seems likely. She might call dad who would add security to the manse and provide a private nurse. Maybe she thinks she can woe Gunther and break up his relationship with Bets? Whatever, this arc will continue for many more weeks.
They still need Ox to drive them back to Tiffany’s home to get her car. She got to the hospital by ambulance and Ox drove his car along with Les. The 2 guys need to get back to work soon.
Tiffany has no mother, an absent father, and presumably no other relatives or caretakers. She and Les connected more or less as future siblings at one point. Gunther is a loyal friend, and has a girlfriend that she helped him keep.
Ox may or may not be friend-zoned. Tiffany seems to really want a place to heal and figure out her next path forward.
Tiffany seems like perhaps the most mature of the young characters because she is not obsessed with romance, fandoms, living in a pseudo fantasy world of good luck charms, etc. She isn’t a deep intellectual or a ditz.
The comic is called Luann, but Tiffany and Gunther have been the young characters who have shown the most growth.
In ways Gunther’s development went backwards with Bets.
The main young characters are stuck in adolescence, but Tiffany seems to be outgrowing that mindset. She is not comfortable in the dorm environment, or trying to hoist herself on a deeply dedicated Ox.
She has been the spoiled rich girl, but she has also shown she desperately wants to be independent and earn her own way. She is struggling to figure out how, and her “successful” dad obviously doesn’t teach her much.
Working isn’t beneath her. She seems to work hard at her job.
She has been shown working hard in classes but also struggling to understand harder classes.
Every time Luann has shown hints of maturity, she drops back into selfish adolescent mode. Gunther and Les live in what could be permanent parent figure provided housing. Bernice stopped working in a dorm but somehow is “more mature” than Luann when Luanns family provides her with housing.
Bets probably has more spending money than Tiffany given her comments about her huge social media profits yet wanted to live rent free with Tiffany.
Tiffany was willing to live with less than a mansion but grew sick of adolescent drama. Her character has changed a great deal over time.
I’m not sure this situation is adding up to a good thing. Les leads to Gunther, Gunther leads to Bets, Bets leads to exploitation for gain from Tiffany’s injuries. It’s not looking good for Tiff’s peace of mind in the long run.
Tiffany does have a father and the police and hospital would have notified him as next of kin and owner of the crime scene. I realize that this will be ignored, but in real life he would be part of the solution.
Funny how so many can only see this in a romantic way. Think about it. She thanked Ox nicely for being her hero. Do you think she’s never going to see him again? In the meantime she’s supposed to convalesce. So, what? She’s supposed to go home with a guy she hardly knows and never dated? Or invite him to her home to “take care of her”? Would you, really? Just because she wants to go home with Les doesn’t mean she chose him to be her romantic partner. She probably chose him because he and Gunther are both friends and she looks at Las as almost family. Hopefully she does have Irma/Mr Grey in mind. But the decision wasn’t made in a romantic light or as awarding her “favors”.
Ox never offered to have Tiffany stay with him. Many readers are acting like Tiffany rejected Ox in some way, but that never happened. Ox has to offer or suggest something first, before Tiffany could reject him. Tiffany is being very nice to Ox. She cannot read his mind.
“It’s what I do.” Is that the line Cliff Booth aka Brad Pitt said? But it is true. Ox is always willing to help people. Someone said it was weird that he offered to take her back to the dorm. I know it didn’t show it, but he was the one who helped her move back to the mansion, and it stands to reason he would ask what led to her leaving. Did I just say “stands to reason”?
I’m hoping maybe Tiffany is thinking that Ox has done enough and doesn’t want to burden him further. She might be oblivious (or at least that’s how it seems), but she’s always been very sweet towards Ox even when she’s not getting him caught up in her craziness.
But I’m wondering if Tiff thought this through. If she’s staying with Les and Gunther then she’s going to have to confront Bets about moving out of the dorm a lot sooner than maybe she intended. Maybe the concussion is the one making decisions for her right now.
Poor Oxford! Always the faithful friend, never, ever the boyfriend to Tiffany, with whom he is secretly (at least as far she goes, we can see it plainly) in love….
Gotta be the concussion, cause i can’t see tiffany WANTING Les and gunther to stay with her. Either that or she’s lonely and wants someone there incase someone tries to break in again

@yorkgirl——-You were spot-on with your reference to a Hallmark movie. That’s where G&K get their plot ideas.
That, and old TV sitcoms.

does Les crash on the way home?

I had a feeling this might happen someday…

I’m not sure this situation is adding up to a good thing. Les leads to Gunther, Gunther leads to Bets, Bets leads to exploitation for gain from Tiffany’s injuries. It’s not looking good for Tiff’s peace of mind in the long run.

Tiffany has grown up nicely. She seems more like a lady than ever.

Tiffany does have a father and the police and hospital would have notified him as next of kin and owner of the crime scene. I realize that this will be ignored, but in real life he would be part of the solution.

First time I can remember seeing Les smile.

Why hasn’t Les been slugged, by the EMT, the cop, or the doctor?

Anyone notice the italicized “thank.” Might be nothing.

The last two days Tiffany has looked more vulnerable than I’ve ever seen her.
Compare that with the old days and that permanent snooty expression on her face.

I didn’t see that coming. She must feel safe there, and we don’t know where Ox lives.

I see a Gunther flirt coming on

Ox never offered to have Tiffany stay with him. Many readers are acting like Tiffany rejected Ox in some way, but that never happened. Ox has to offer or suggest something first, before Tiffany could reject him. Tiffany is being very nice to Ox. She cannot read his mind.

Don’t worry, Les won’t be able to do much, Bets will be there practically 24/7 following them around with her phone.

Poor Oxford. Tiffany should have invited him to stay with her in her mansion as a protector instead.

Wonder what Gunther’s going to have to say about this …. (everyone’s focusing on Bets, but G may also have issues with it.)

I am hoping this is more because Tiffany knows Gunther is there and will actually know what he’s doing. Also Irma too to help.

Poor Oxford! Always the faithful friend, never, ever the boyfriend to Tiffany, with whom he is secretly (at least as far she goes, we can see it plainly) in love….
Will she one day wake up?

Gotta be the concussion, cause i can’t see tiffany WANTING Les and gunther to stay with her. Either that or she’s lonely and wants someone there incase someone tries to break in again

Maybe ox will go through a metamorphosis like Luann’s brother did and get the girl soon!
