This broken window thing has been dragged out for so long that I can only imagine that Greg has something big planned as the denouncement. But what can that be? Since the window is too small for most people to crawl through I suspect it must be a snake. The snake Ann Eiffel,
Okay, Bets. You think someone climbed in through a second-story window. Go back outside and find ladder bottom impressions on the ground to prove your theory. And the way Tiff yelled, there is a vault. She is alarmed and is trying to rein them the other way. She doesn’t want them to know there is a vault. Dez has been quiet. Methinks she will say something sensible and provable.
Just to be clear, since so many incongruities have been pointed out, the bars would not bend in that shape if it were merely a projectile passing through them. They would be pointed back into the hallway. The energy required to form that U-shape would have broken adjacent windows and done additional damage. So there! 8^ )
Welcome to The Tiffany Mystery Theater. At least the ladies are working together and not fighting. Now they must explore for evidence or any clues of misdeeds. See if a big tree is near enough to pop that window in a wind storm. Travel in pairs for safety. Hope that the lights don’t go out. Okay, Greg and company, you’re on your own, I don’t do mysteries.
After Dez’s remark, I have to admit that the idea of a thief is getting less and less plausible. Maybe it was really an animal that broke the glass? Maybe a large bird that has nested somewhere inside the house? I wouldn’t mind seeing an Albatross (or a wild animal) attack Stef, but does a metal bar break so easily?
Clues are getting more exaggerated each moment. Maybe a former customer from the storage business has programmed the Manse’s location into the drone. Other commentors have hinted at security breaches with Bets’ advertising over unsecured websites.
It’s the bending the bars back is the one item that jams all theories, since no projectile object or feathers etc. were found near by. Unless the bars are not that strong to begin with.
No need to shout Tiffany. Steph is being nice to you, and helpful…in her own quirky way, and there is most likely a wall safe in the master suite that you don’t know about. (Personally, I like the way they took the “mean girl” attitude out of Steph’s character). They certainly are quite the sleuths! Their ideas are right out of the movies! Maybe the window repairman will be a gorgeous man named Maverick and he can explain (finally) how the window got broken, right after he makes his grand appearance on Saturday. Anyone who still cares how the window got broken will have to wait until next week…or next month.
I fly drones commercially. Two things wrong here. The drone’s anti-collision feature would prevent it from flying into an object, even if the operator wanted it to, and even if that feature was disabled (which it can be) the drone would destroy itself on impact with the window. The plastic (or carbon fiber) propellers would break off and the drone would drop like a rock. Then again… maybe this was a drone from Wile E. Coyote’s Acme company.
I still think an inanimate object went thru that window.
Although, on Luannfan.com, Greg’s original draft of the broken window scene indicated that whatever broke it made an abrupt right turn into Tiff’s bedroom.
So unless the object was round like a golf ball or baseball, it could have been (shudder) alive.
A live animal capable of smashing thru that window without permanent damage or being cut plus surviving without food or water for a month? (yeah, yeah, I know. “It flew out of the broken window to get food”)
A live animal that has made a nest in Tiffany’s bed. The gals discover it. And after their initial SCREAMING, decide to adopt it as a pet.
I like how the wild imaginings of the three “friends” are supposed to be portrayed as ridiculous, yet here is Tiffany standing next to a window she hasn’t fixed in over a month.
I’m no drone expert, but do they even fly with enough force to bend metal bars inward like that? Let’s ignore the glass for now, because the bars are what’s important here.
It looks like the window is a single sheet of glass likely with decorative trim glued onto it. The break is continuous and extends into other sections which it would not do if there were separate panes of glass in each section. So dad has been away since at least May and it is now October? The house is likely on a couple of acres+ with neighbors with yards as large so it is not likely neighborhood kids would be playing ball in his yard.
Maybe the Window Repair Company broke the window because they needed extra cash for the Holidays. Quick Stef – see if any other neighbors have broken windows!
By now, the broken window is looking like vandalism – maybe with a baseball bat. That would explain why there is nothing inside. Maybe this was a “visit” to the mansion by Ann Eiffel. Ann was too interesting to get retired from the strip forever.
With all this build up, all I can say is this better be good. I actually thought the drone was a decent possibility but it looks like it won’t be that.
Dez is right- a human invader would have removed the jagged glass shards from the window frame before attempting entry.
Tom Ferrell bought a house with expensive mullion decorative details, but skipped having dual-paned windows installed? (which besides providing substantial energy-savings, are almost impossible to break- by either a ball or an eagle!)
There is no PLAUSIBLE cause for the broken window.
Ox could not have afforded to replace a broken entry door and damaged door frame.
Irma, Al, and most of all, Bets would NOT have been okay with Tiffany staying at the Gulag for a month when she would have been capable of independent function after one week.
Les would not sleep on a beanbag chair for a month to give Tiffany his bed,
There’s no reason why Tiffany would stick with that stupid sling for three days, let alone one month.
This arc has been interesting, but it jumped the shark long, long ago.
It was a drone that accidentally violated important air space. The nearby Air Force base scrambled some fighter jets and the sonic boom broke Tiff’s window
I can’t believe her dad doesn’t have a safe somewhere in the house. In his room or in an office. But that’s hardly a vault. And you’d need to be an experienced safe-cracker to be able to work out the combination.
