Tara knows Luann is a good person. She told her about Stella and HER messes and let Luann help her out. So why wouldn’t she want to let Luann get to know Piro better and help HIM out??
Seems like Tara wants to keep Piro to herself.
I would love to see a 4th panel where Luann says, “Who I talk to is… none of your biz!” lol
You can’t rush getting to know someone. Trying to push it probably wouldn’t end well. Hey Luann, start by just finding out what message Piro wanted you to give Bernice.
If Luann does get a chance to speak to Walt-Piro, he will probably only ask her some questions about Bernice, like he did before in Ms H’s class when they first ran into each other.
You “don’t share your family’s messes with strangers??”
Well, seeing that you’ve only known that Walt-Piro was “family” for exactly five minutes, and seeing that like it or not, you’ve already “shared” your cousin Stella with the DeGroots, what’s the big deal about Luann knowing more about your new-found cuz, Bernice? Uh, I mean, Tara?
More importantly, isn’t it up to Walt, NOT You, to decide what Luann knows about him??
Oh, boy. Who is PUSHY now? Luann seems too interested in Piro – because of his history with Bernice or just the typical moody and smoldering boy persona Piro is emitting? AND there’s the fact they’re in a CLASSROOM and they never seem to be paying attention to the teacher or taking notes or whatever. Does GNK even KNOW what goes in a classroom? Professors will NOT put up with chatting students. They will call them and instruct them to leave the class and mark them absent for all the chatting and being largely absent from active participation in class. I did that to a few students like Luann and Tara when I taught at community college. Unfortunately, I couldn’t do the same with high school kids. I could only give them no points for lack of participation, but I can’t ask them to leave the classroom. That’s the plus side of being a college professor and their professor ought to take advantage of that.
So who’s will is going to prevail here, Lu’s or Tara. Both are strong-willed, although I’d give the edge to Tara, but I bet Lu will find a way to try. If Walt even let’s her; it is intriguing how he might react if Bern comes up. Actually, if Lu would just become “woke” her instincts as an investigative reporter, or would it be more accurate to say Bern has those instincts, more"truth" might come out. Hilarity will ensue, but we need to find out more about the lad.
I guess now that we have Piro to obsess over we don’t have to worry about the “Peek of Passion” and who the author was. Unless I missed something the storyline was a red herring that didn’t lead anywhere. We can assume that Nancy and Bernice went to the book reading without LuAnn and the author was no one worth noting. Same thing with the broken window at the mansion. It got broken. and fixed with no problem. The dorm storyline may still come back to see how the new roommate situation is working out and the guests that are allowed at the Gulag may still be a continuation for the future.
Usually Tara isn’t so stubborn with Luann and it seems to me that going to talk with Piro is a great idea. Maybe what happened to Piro is too traumatic and a direct approach would make him run away (which has happened several times in the past)? But even so, Tara seems to be overprotective and to projecting herself into her cousin’s life problems. I hope the conversation with Luann continues and she’ll explains herself.
Luann would make a good journalist. She pushy and sometimes thinks her desire to know is more important than the well being of her subject. Now all she needs is to see to if she learns to write.
It’s a free country, Luann can go talk to Piro. How much he was going to tell her WAS going to be his decision, but now Tara is going to tell his story without his permission.
I’m on Tara’s side on this one. When it comes to family messes and drama, it’s super complicated. Some people, like Tara, will talk about it (though I imagine even she leaves stuff out) and some like Piro take it so personally they’d rather not talk about it all. Luann’s hormones are on the march again, so her best judgement isn’t kicking in at the moment.
If I heard that some guy was “messed up”, I would go the other way. I have no desire to get involved with messed up people. Their problems will only infect my life and I don’t need that. There are plenty of emotionally healthy people to interact with.
I’ve been without power for most of a week so I’m catching up with things. A question, didn’t Tara’s hair stand up more, like a buzz-cut? The ends of her hair is jagged but the top looks as smooth as Tiffany’s helmet hair.
As Tara knows, one’s backstory is not for other people to spill. If Piro was to talk he’ll talk but Tara isn’t.
