Luann didnt check with Toni to see if she miyght be able to help with her car like Bets an Gunther did with Ruby? They arent even related an Toni helped
Sticky notes are still useful. Unless, of course, it falls off Frank’s screen. Then Lu will be waiting around a while, which she should do anyway. Surely there is a fast food joint nearby.
Is what’s wrong with Luann car more than what the in family mechanics can handle? I thought between Toni, and, Brad, hey could handle most anything, (And, be cheaper, too.)
I can relate to that. Went into Best Buy to pick up a laptop for my daughter. Lady asks me for the order number. I whip out my phone, go to the app and after fumbling around for an embarrassingly long time, I accidentally delete my order number. She says, “Can I see your phone” and in 2 seconds she finds the order number. I give up. I’m going back to a rotary phone, if I can find one.
Two panels duplicating a Liberty Mutual commercial. In what world and what mindset did G&K think that none of their readers would recognize this plagiarism?
My fitbit decided yesterday that I have to switch over to google. I am having problems with it and don’t want to lose all my data since 2018. I will keep at it, but it’s annoying not to be able to see my daily data other than what is on my watch.
Several absurd (in my view) comments about the rudeness of Luann’s conversation. people here are WAY to sensitive about things like this. It isn’t the break down of society for krissakes.
Two mistakes here Luann… (1) making the assumption that Frank can and wants to do this; (2) putting the burden on him to remember to do it. If he agrees to #1 then you say you will call him from the shop when you are ready.
Nothing to see here except of course the distinction (generational) between Baby Boomers who are used to a big invention of our generation to remember and remind (still use them myself) and millennials and Zoomers need to realize tha electronically remembering and reminding with mobile phones is not something that a lot of us find it easy to do.
That’s exactly what I do, too. No need to turn on my phone just to look at a reminder. I turn my phone on when I need to make a call. I check for messages once a day. My life doesn’t revolve around my phone. I don’t care if it makes me look like I’m an old fart.
If this strip were halfway clever, then that post-it would fall off of Frank’s phone well before the specified time.
Or he would set his phone down so the note was hidden and forget about it the rest of the day. Until Lu calls him at 5:00 wondering when he’ll pick her up.
But the tech-clueless-parent joke will have to suffice. It’s appropriate for the Luann readership, that grew up in the post-it era and is sticking with it.
That was silly. Luann, ask the favor first, then send Dad a calendar invitation—it’s on you. I haven’t seen the Liberty Mutual ad…I guessing that it must be running during NFL games?
By the way—-feel free to weigh in. Are you more Gunthercentric or Betscentric???Personally I lean more toward Bets but not to the degree she is capricious nor do I share her need for validation from social media or other external sources. But I am a sort of swing by the seat of my pants kind of gal. Living with my beloved husband this helps to keep me sane!!!! ; )

Why not have Ms. “Free Room and Board” Bernice come by the shop and pick you up?
Oh, yeah. I forgot.
It’s “Bernice.” ;-)

It’s quicker to write it on a stickup than open the app and start a new note. I rarely use it.

Luann should CALL AND TALK to her Dad 30 minutes before she needs to be picked up…. to remind him.
Electronica can get to be too much at times. I do not like feeling like a cyborg with my d*mn phone…. even though I must have it at work now.
