Worst case scenario? Wren spends a week looking like a red-headed Hammie. And just in time for the family Christmas card photo. And Zoe gets in trouble, Why would Hammie have trouble with any of that?
Ah, it’s one of those traditions that magically skips from one family to another, getting passed down from one older sister to another even though there’s no relation.
The upside is that it will grow back. The downside is Wanda should take the cost of having her stylist clean/repair/salvage it out of Zoes allowance.
We did when the oldest daughter ‘styled’ the middle daughter’s hair. It must have been an effective punishment because middle daughter never ‘styled’ youngest daughter’s hair.
Mom will be mad, Wren’s hair will grow back, and Hammie will be wrong. When my daughter was little I let her play with my hair and she enjoyed it, only she did not have scissors to cut hair with.
when I was growing up my mom always cut everyone’s hair, she had to go to a salon for herself, but everyone else she took care of with her trusty clippers. One day she was babysitting my nephew (I was the second youngest in a large family) and my mom noticed that was getting long and shaggy so she asked him if he wanted her to give him his first haircut and he said yes. My mom did a great job as always, but when my sister in law came to pick up her son she was really upset. Turns out she was going to make he son’s first haircut a big deal with a lot of pictures of him in the barber chair and the barber dancing around a posing before each clip. But my mom ended up spoiling her dream by being efficient and cutting his hair without a big production.
I remember during the Covid pandemic when no barbershops or hair salons were open and my sister in law used my beard trimmer on me and my brother. She actually did a bang up job.
When I was about 9, I was chewing gum at my aunt’s house and some of my hair got in my mouth (It was shoulder length). I ended up with the gum stuck in my hair. My mother & aunt tried to get/cut it out. Their brother, my uncle, was howling with laughter. Oh, how I hated him in that moment!
when my friend told me he was going to a wedding i replied, oh, well, you’ll need a haircut then. i left a bald patch much larger than a silver dollar. when she found out what i’d done, mom once again just sat on the front stoop and cried. it’s a wonder my parents didn’t try to give me away… ☺

On the other hand if it does end well, or at least not end in disaster, she has a great career ahead of her at Super Clips or Great Cuts.

My mom would cut my bangs, they would get shorter & shorted as she tried to even or straighten them up.
