Bernice. Shut up, pull up your big girl panties and go. Stop finding excuses about everything. It’s just food. Cluck chicken is something people, including yourself, eat right? You’d blend in and be a customer and perhaps meet a cute guy. Luann definitely will. She’s friendly and cute.
AAAAGH!! Bernice and Luann turned into silhouette people! Make it stop! Make it stop!! Pfew! Thank goodness for the last 2 panels where they revert back to normal.
If you haven’t seen the advert for the Cluckin’ Chicken, Greg and Karen may (or may not) want you to see the classic SNL commercial: (I can’t post the link, but search “Cluckin’ Chicken” in Youtube and get in on the gag.)
If the person is right for you, the manner of meeting them is a moot point. But you do have to make an effort to actually interact with other people. I really haven’t heard anyone say “I was just sitting in my living room when I heard a knock on my door. When I answered it, there stood Mr./Miss perfect asking me if I was single. When I said yes, they asked me if I’d like to go out for dinner.”
You meet the right person at a variety of places. Just get out in the world a little and be interested in people a little. Maybe you’ll meet someone you like…maybe not.
Of course, you are a cartoon character, so results may vary.
Met my Mr. Right when we were both reaching for a plastic-wrapped piece of angel cake – the last one – pretty appropriate, eh? (oh, and I was 55 years old at the time!)
Bernice seems capable only of complaining! As always, every initiative to do something is totally entrusted to Luann. If she didn’t have her as a friend, Bernice would probably have a very miserable life. The idea of trying to talk to some guys who are happily chatting or eating around a food truck may not be romance novels level, but it’s not bad. At worst, they could always buy a snack.
For the 21+ crowd… Bars are full of men wandering where all the women are. Yoga classes are full of women wondering where all the men are. I couldn’t speak for the 18 to 20 crowd. Otherwise, there is no such thing as Mr. or Mrs. Perfect.
There is no Mr. or Mrs. “Perfect”. We enter into relationships as imperfect people. Are objectives should be to fund a husband or wife who we can travel life with, love (despite their imperfections) and have children. We humble ourselves and work to grow together.
However, if they want to meet Shoog Daddies, they could become Dearest Ann❤️Eiffel ❤️Eiffelettes. Never fails. Well, Sexy❤️Luann. Burnoose… not so much. No wonder we ALL ❤️ and Miss Gorgeous Ann❤️Eiffel so much… Darling Ann❤️Eiffel come home before we have another Shannon or Dumpster and useLes tousey mousey thread. Dilly! Dilly! Boy, howdy.
Okay, good! We have some clarification. Both of these characters are seeking heterosexual relationships. So moving along, they need to establish better habits to obtain their goal. Going to church, attending lectures and social activities at the college, maybe helping a charitable organization in their community, going to the gym, grocery shopping every day at the same time (because if someone notices them, they know when to come back), and of course, hanging around every food truck in town LOL!
I guess this really is gonna be a repeat of Tiffany’s Epic Pool Party™. Anyone willing to bet otherwise, in that these two will actually get to know a guy before the arc ends? Or do we all agree that this “romance novel life” arc was a waste of time with everyone most likely ending right back where they started? Place your bets now!
OH! This is so difficult…. LMAO! So many ways to go with this!!! I’m figuratively biting my tongue, trying to remind myself this is a “Family” oriented comic strip!
People usually date and marry people on their own level, as far as looks, intelligence and motivation. Unless one has a lot of money, which can make up for lack of other qualities, for some people anyway. Lots of money would never make up for lack of character or brains for me.
Excerpt from Karen’s latest Luann newsletter => “Luann’s always been a pendulum of optimism and defeat—making plans for summer, for self-improvement, for love…but not always achieving her dreams.”That should answer some questions for persistent inquirers as to WHY WHY WHYYYY!!!!
Bernice tends to attract the artistic, the dark and moody types. While Luann attracts the more open and athletic. The park is fine for her but probably not for Bernice.

Bernice.. maybe it’s time you become a joiner and do more things.
Even if you met Mr. Right at the Cluckin’ Chickin.. I don’t think he’d be into you. By your own admission.. you’re kinda boring.beb01 5 months ago
Two weeks for them to get around to admitting that they want to met boys. Sloths move faster than this plot.

Just spend a day at an amusement park or something. That’s the best place, in my opinion.

I’m beginning to agree with the folks who think Luann would be better off in her hunt for adventure without that boat anchor on her blanket.
