I’m still confused. If Jay shouldn’t have been there, was it Marcus who should have been killed? Does “woof” indicate that Marcus is wearing some kind of strong scent (aftershave, maybe?)? I suppose he could have been out on a date.
So, looking back over the last few days, Tracy and Sam are able to view the selfie taken by Jay with the phone in his left hand… Which has an image of Jay holding another phone in his right hand. Any chance that he also happened to take a pic of the killer with THAT phone?
The scar on this gentleman’s left cheek confirms that he is Marcus, at least according to the portrait hanging on the wall in the office (and assuming the bros don’t swap suits). The corpse must therefore be Jay, and the photo must therefore (likely) be mirrored, since that image also features a scar on the left cheek.
And here we have the Halloween tie-in, Sam, as his get-the-perp blood rage taking hold, is bout to morph into a slavering bow-tied WEREWOLF! That ‘woof’ is an unconscious giveaway.
We just have to hope he doesn’t turn into Odie, for that alternate GARFIELD crossover.
P.2. Dick rolls with it but without the onion induced waterworks is just not convincing. Also; we get to see a body, like the way Mike would never show. In P.3. I see a veiled gleeful look on Dick’s face as he “tries” to settle Marcus knowing that what he says will only spur Marcus’s “acting” career to new heights. Is Sam out of the loop on this ?
Imagine if you were sick with worry and guilt about your beloved brother, and you burst into a scene where he lies dead on the ground, and the first reaction from one of the cops there is to cartoonishly pantomime disgust at your B.O.? I honestly am really enjoying this new “Sam Catchem is a monstrous [redacted]hole” characterization.
Okay—-the MAD CAVE series—thought I’d review Book 5,the first one I’ve been able to find. And I wasn’t looking very hard,as none of the previous tries at Dick outside the strip have been all t hat good.
Brent Schoonover’s cover was a nice riff on Gould’s classic “gag” drawing—“I wanted to see how you’d handle em’ all at once”.
BIG BOY looked like Harvey Bullock of Gotham City, but I liked the final showdown—-part classic 1932 beatdownand getting the blood feud between these two down part.It took Dick 3 years to bring Big Boy down—-and sadly, that wasn’t the end even then.
A pretty crummy version of Flattop. And who was t he guy with the glasses? A big cheat on Lizz—-she had her hat on and we couldn’t tell if she actually looked like we expect her to look
Shoulders was just right—-the big enforcer—although in the strip a lot of that muscle was padding.
The best thing was the PACING—it was action packed—-Dick actually got to kill somebody—and things just breezed by.
It said “To be Continued”—-but it looked like the main action had already ended.
I do believe that I solved it… I will not say anything to spoil it. I am just happy that I think I got it. When this story is done, if I comment “Bummer”, that is me admiting I was wrong.
One very small nit-pick – because now that I see it, it’s bugging me – Tracy’s hat brim should be turned up in the back, not flat all around like a disk. (But, hey, I can’t draw Tracy very well at all – I’ve tried!)

Hey,enough with the fart jokes.
More likely our new visitor smells of alcohol.
Not only is “the little bell” incredibly retro, it’s usually found only in small shops and not in business offices.
Sounds like extra precautions by somebody who was EXPECTING to get shot at.

“Woof,” exclaimed Sam and held his nose, “This guy is really schvitzing.”
So far the only living characters are Tracy, Sam, and Marcus. This limits the number of possible suspects… I’m going with Sam as the killer.
